On mine there was no way a truck could get enough traction to pull it upright from the top of the hill. The tow truck had to park on gravel maybe 75 feet away due to mud.

I understand what you mean about those separate systems. I remember seeing a proliferation of vehicles with amber rear turn signals in addition to the red brake lights, and seeing kits in the auto supply store for wiring into trailer connectors. I also agree with you about the late model GM vehicles with daytime running lights out on one side or the other. What an embarrassment - GM should be ashamed of itself. On our '98 the lowbeams came on as DTRs. I disabled that feature. I use the feature known as the headlight switch. But back to 4ways - it might be too difficult to change the system to always flash. (It's tempting, there must be a way.)

Yeah, and you will probably be riding backwards. On the plus side, the tractor will likely knock most things out of the way when you hit them.

I'm totally sold on this old tractor. Outside of the chance of internal HYD lines coming apart its a bad ass tractor, very reliable and strong. I don't like gas engines, and like the 540 RPM pto on a 1000rpm gearbox cutter.
If its truely A-1 condition its worth around $7,500 around the southeastern part of the US, deduct $600-$900 if its gas but, ad $750 for the front end loader (If its a john deere)

That is what I was going to recommend. Trailer dealers use a front hitch on the FEl to push trailers into small spots.

The synthetic Rotella is inexpensive and easy to find at Walmart. I have been running it again lately. I like the Delo for the regular mineral blend at least out west as it has better burn characteristics in my Dodge truck.
With the mineral oils you need to be aware that blends will reflect the refinery and the source for the base stocks. This can vary from region to region although the brand is the same.

Thanks for the reply. I also run without it hooked up but it just bugs me that I cannot get the thing screwed on. I'm wondering if there is a way to reroute the cable to give it more length? I guess I could always have a longer one made. I live in Alaska but my farm is in Pass Christian, MS and everything was destroyed except my new metal building. So, when I go down there there is more to do than I have time to do it and this is just an aggravation.

Be careful with a full tri-focal. You will find yourself tripping over stuff and stepping imaginary steps. You can also get dizzy from things being out of focus.

Ya, the .454 with hot loads has almost twice the energy of a .44 Mag. I'll try zeroing in at 50 yards and see what happens.

I'm kinda disappointed so far with the .454 as well as with my .17HMR. Shoulda got the .44 Mag and .22 Mag instead. I have several .357 Mags. and they all shoot so nice and consistent. I was looking at the S&W .460. It shoots the .460 as well as the .454 and .45 Colt. I suppose I coulda spent another $600.00 to find out the same thing. When it is all said and done you can only reasonably shot one brand of ammo with one grain and point size.

You aren't doing to bad for pricing as there is a big difference in a Kubota loader and the other makes. Freight has caused prices to raise.

Blower would be the same, hook-up and all. You have a lot of life left in your tractor as I've seen them beyond 3500 hours and still going strong.

You don't have that much for hydralics but they operate on less but will add a minimum of 100lbs loader weight to the front reducing your lift ability. Without power steering it could get rough for the money spent to aquire one.

Do make sure that all the facts are given and you aren't missing any items from one dealers service to another. I often listen to people later that state they didn't get what they thought they were. I even had one fellow a couple of weeks ago that wanted his tractor serviced and was disappointed with the lower priced dealer's service and he wanted some work done on his and still expected the free trucking we offer while under warrantee.

I've never done this so it might be worth what you paid for it, but it seems to me as long as the engine is full-pressure lubricated and doesn't rely on splash lubrication the engine level doesn't matter. What matters is that you have a full flow of oil from a reservoir to the oil-pickup port and a return path from the engine that works in most orientations. It might require a pump in the reservoir that is sized correctly and maybe even a scavenger pump on the return circuit. Probably be easier to rig up a hydraulic motor to drive the cutter.

Be sure to look at your tools and find the CFM and pressure needed. I have two nailers and one uses very little and the other can keep my 5 1/2 HP running if you are willing to work.
