I'm very interested in learning more about your source for parts I own the same model but I don't know how to read Japanese so the year of my Shibaura is unknown, but I share simular problems, steering, Water pump, starter solenoid.You posted in March 2005 I would like to hear from you. ED

I have a Shibaura SD2200 4x4 and have had all kinds of problems from starters to a total rebuild of engine. I know parts are hard to find but I have found a source, although they are high on prices. If anyone is interested in my experiences please let me know through this post, being there are too many to list at once.
I am looking for people with the same tractor so we can swap stories.

Get the serial number, have it run though a police check to see if it's stolen, even if it's from a dealer.

Most likely you have air in the fuel line, from changing the fuel filter. If the 4200 has a self bleeding fuel system, it may take quite a bit of cranking to get the air out. Don't crank it over 10 or 15 seconds at a time, then give the starter time to cool off before trying again.

well the other inexpensive way to do the job, (provided you have some technical skills), is purchase a small acquisition card or microprocessor eval card, suck the data into your pc and take the fft.

obviously you'd have to glue on some pre-conditioning stuff to isolate the eval board, but you could do this all for less than 50 bucks and have some fun to boot.

then again it might be easier to just purchase a cheap dmm with this capability built in.

I just had my 3rd line replaced yesterday.

Deere knows there is a problem.
They say not to bolt the little tab that comes on the new line, but to use a "P" clamp fix. The problem is, the "P" clamp fix doesn't line up to bolt anywhere.

After my first one broke, in May, the 2nd one broke 2 weeks later. Then we just didn't clamp the 2nd line anywhere.
It lasted until now (november), but cracked again, in the same spot you mentioned.

My problem seemed to start, when I put a spinner knob on. My Deere mechanic is very good, and is waiting to hear back from Deere on it. It seems the gear box must flex just a bit, and over time (2 weeks, or 4 months) it wears at that line, causing it to crack.

Deere needs to come up with a rubber line, that can flex with the gearbox.... but I guess they are making money on us continuing to buy that steel line, so why would they give us a fix.

I work for a Deere dealer, and I do commercial lawn care.
And they wonder why I just bought a Gravely.

Just curious did you ever buy the tractor? Also what dealers in ME and NH did you try and their price. I am looking at a B7500 FEL and front blower used but could almost do better buying a new B7510 and loader.

I let the kids and wife drive the new one and I stay on the 250 recon. (MOST OF THE TIME) Reason being I want them (the wife) to get used to the comfy one and then stick them on the non independent susp. one This will prove my point and justify it when she gets back on the new one. Maybe even have a reason for anouther (ya know my back is pretty bad hunny?)

I have not been posting much. Life just does not get easier for the pollock here in Wisconsin.
Lets see 0now, in the last 4 months
1. my dog passed away
2. mother-in-law had knee surgery
3. Mother-in-laws doc found a tumor in her thigh (a month after her surgery)
4. M-I-Law had to go under the knife again for that
5. My wife was complaining about a lump in her neck. She kept saying it was just a lymp gland... Well the nurse (my wife) was WRONG. After 8 hours in the ER (she was losing vision and extreme pain) She has a "stone" in her saliva gland and they also found a leision next to it??? What ever that means we will find out this week or next. Might mean a trip to the big city for a specialist.

7. ALL THREE females in my house now have their periods the same week!!!!

I have been very buisy recently so I appoligize for not being one of the tractor point boys as of late.
Well got to get to sleep. I am working my 7th day in a row on my way to 15 tomarroo. Got to pay those medical bills ya know LOL

Hmmm Ya think anouther wheeler will cure all my aces and pains?? NAAA I think I better not push it/.

Heatmor sent me a brochure, but after reading it a few questions remain. Does the unit have a pump in it? Or do you have to provide an external pump? Also, is there any temperature regulation of the water? We don't have any room in the ductwork for a heat exchanger so I'm thinking of retrofitting radiant floor heat on the main floor of the house.

I called the local kubota dealer yesterday and they told me they make an optional folding rops for the bx2200. $480!!!! what a rip off. I took it off and will take my chances. With or witout rops if it starts to go I'm bailing out anyway.

Thanks for the pointer Randy. They don't have the throttle cable, which is what I badly need. They may have the speedo cable, I have to take some measurements. There are places that make custom speedo cables for $20 so that's an easy one. Not sure if they also make throttle cables.

I have the stock limited slip Dana in the 2000 Dodge 3500. I have not had it off road much and have had it stuck but pulled out of it. I took it through the passes in California and Oregon last year when they were demanding chains. With the 5 speed and limited slip it was no problem. I was passing the 4x4 as they don't know how to drive in snow.
I had the diff oil changed last year (75K). You need to baby the Dana limited slip as with the clutches it does wear the oil more than you expect.

Best case, maybe the oil passage between the transmission housing and the transfer case is blocked. Same thing happens very often to the transfer case. It's why I recommend a complete flushing of these tractors when they're new.

First - check for the visible presence of oil on the transmission dipstick. If the level is normal, then open the transfer case drain plug and see what kind of flow you get. If no flow, you're running dry gears in the transfer case. Flush time. If flow, inspect closely for metal fragments.

Today I put a deposit down on a '99 32 hp L2900 GST w/ p/s and tilt wheel. It's got 492 hours showing on the meter. Looks great, appears to run good, no obvious problems. Price is $6500. Is this about right or too good to be true?<br>
Any common problems or tale tale signs to be on the look out for? I've been dreaming of a tractor for 10-15 years - and cannot afford to be stuck with a lemon.
