Both tractors have about the same specifications. You can add the Mid-PTO at the dealership. You need to drive both units and see for yourself which fits you the best.<br>

Most Case-IH dealerships sold the Cadet line since it was once part of International and Case didn't have their own compact tractors until they merged with New Holland. My local Case dealers actually push the Case Compacts but still sell the Cadet line of lawn tractors. Most Case dealers got upset when Cadet starting marketing through big box stores and TSC.<br>

If your local dealer is pushing Cadet and offers parts and service it is a hard call. Chances are the Case will have a higher resale value later because of name recognition.<br>

The Case may have a little more room in the seating area and the pedals are different, more like a Deere. I don't like the new Case curved beam loaders. My opinion is they are too far out in front of the front tires. My Cadet is an older model and has the loader up tight near the front wheels. The new Cadet loader is different than mine. I also have big 27x10.5-15 turfs on the front compared to 8.5's that are now offered on all brands in this HP range. The wider tires are important in loader carrying capacity and imprint force on your lawn.

Did you mean a 261 RFM? Or a 260 rotary mower? If you do in fact have a 260 rotary mower; these mowers were designed for the John Deere 318, 420, and 430 lawn tractors. I am not certain of pto speed specs. but I suspect that they drive this mower at a much higher pto speed than a rear pto set at 540 rpm. The mid pto on my 4410 drives the MMM at 2,100 rpm. This may be why you are having difficulty obtaining a proper pto speed to run this mower at.

I am shopping for tractors and would like some input on from any one on first hand experience on both. The dealer sells both brands and seems to be pushing the Cub more than the CASE. The Case seems to be a little more rugged in my mide as well as it has the MMPTO where the cub does not have that. The cub seems to be a bit less money as well. What would be a good deal for loader and tractor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks---

I own a Woods model MD-184 rotary cutter and I have a PTO shaft that is worn severely in the Square drive female end. The square shaft has very little wear. This Weld-on adaptor is 1 �� square and I am having problems finding this size. I can easily find 1 �� and smaller but no luck with 1 ��. If I can find this adaptor then my repair cost would be much lower than down sizing to the smaller shaft where I would have nearly the expense of a new PTO shaft. Another problem with the woods mower is that the slip clutch ( OEM part) that has a #35 u joint half yoke welded to it , so that further complicates the problem. I don�t understand why woods would use such a large shaft on a 7� brushog and why in the world would they make a slip clutch without a spline drive. It has really been a good mower and this is really the only problem that I have had with it. Do you have any suggestions of where I might locate this weld �on 1 �� square drive adaptor?<br>

Ym, With ANY tractor you probably should not try to winch any tree that you could not pull if you just chained up. Even for pole skidders that have big winches, the object is to save time by connecting a cable to felled trees without having to back a big skidder close to each tree.

Hey, you have an excuse to buy a bigger tractor to fit your winch. :)

Last year at an estate auction, I picked-up a 20 year old used Cub-Cadet 17 HP lawn tractor with 315 only hours with dual stage 46" snowblower, cab, chains and 3 point hitch for $850.00 and for about $40.00 they thru in a 4500 Watt belt driven generator with front mounted frame that also fits the tractor.

You may want to consider an approach something like this if you can find a deal. If you were to purchase a rear blower for your JD what would it cost. Do you already have a cab for your tractor? Having another piece of equipment means you have back-up in case one doesn't start or you're using it for something else. Do you also have a lawn tractor already that you could add this too?

I have a projecting laser on Sig 229 pistol and another on a cheapy assault rifle. I feel they are only good for rough aiming at larger body masses. It is hard to get them zeroed in and keep them there. The other problem is you still have to see the object!

Full moon lite nights are really the only time to hunt during night hours unless you go with true night optics. Night optics are expensive. The earlier Generation I is kinda crude compared to Generations III & IV. A Generation I night vision scope can run about $600.00+ Generation II scopes are about $1,500.00+ and generation III are about $3,500.00.

Consider looking at atncorp.com You can live with the Aries Generation I scope. I would get a model with either 3X or 4X power. That is about $600.00 to $800.00 and gets you out to about 150 yards in full darkness. The objects are a real grainy green but you can see them. You need to be careful in handling these types of scopes.

You can mount this to a New England Firearms (NEF) single shot .223 that already has a mounting rail for about $150.00 or a Marlin bolt action .22 magnum for about $225.00 or mount to your existing rifle. Another option for about $1,200.00 is mount it to an AR-15 with 40 round magazine in .223 caliber.

You may be able to tell that I like guns. I'd vote for you to keep the 5mm for show and purchase something new or slightly used. Plastic stocks and stainless barrels are good cause you'll be going out in damp cool weather and coming back in, brings lots of condensation.

You need a caller type player for the CD that has a mega-phone type speaker. If you just play the CD in a regular portable player, the sound doesn't project far enough. Be ready, sometimes it only takes less than a couple of minutes and they are there out right in front of you.

I don't think he'll find too many deals on new 210 loaders, they have been replaced by the 200X and 200CX. If I were in the market for a loader for the 2210 and had a choice between the 210 and the 200X/CX, I would get the 210. That's just a subjective look at the two side by side, and a comparison of the lift numbers, but IMHO, the 210 is the better deal.

When you say the starter and battery checked out fine......do you mean the starter bench tested properly and functioned? Not sure what you mean when you say you shorted the starter. Did you short the solenoid terminal to the starter post? Just want to be sure the starter and solenoid checked out. If this all functioned properly; sounds like you are on the right track with the start switch. Good luck.

The 4400 offer 3 more hp and a little less than 10% more torque. Unless the prices of a comparably equipped 4400 came up closly priced; I don't think the extra price paid (at least new) is justified for the 4400. My preference would be for the 4400 if the price is right but the 4300 should perform the same in all but the most taxing of applications.

I bought basically the same unit last fall. I'm considering trading on a larger unit and my dealer just offered me $12K on trade in. I'd say that you'd be asking a fair price since the unit is basically new and is garaged.

BTW... are the bucket hooks welded on or bolt on? I'm assuming they're JD parts? I need to get some...
