I have a JD 49 Backhoe on a 5220. The dealer has just replaced two hoses that run from the control valves through the bottom of the frame and up the main arm. Before using the backhoe again, I extended it so that I could grease it. One of the new hoses is already pinched. Is anyone aware of this problem? Is there a fix?

Make sure if you are going to add a circuit you use a power beyond port on the new valve. That is the proper way to add a circuit to an existing circuit making sure that the "beyond" circuit operates at the system pressure. Plumb your valve exhaust port directly back to the reservoir, unless your are going to use a regerative circuit.

In a little over 13 months I have put 345 hours on mine doing about the same things you've done with yours.

The little Toughie never ceases to amaze me.
A spring on the seat bracket fell off. The only problem I've had with it. I put a hitch clip in the rod the spring fits on to keep the new one from coming off like the old spring did.
It was under warranty but I just paid the dealer the 2 bucks for a new spring and told him to forget bothering to fill out the warranty paper work.
If I could have found the spring it wouldn't have cost me anything.

*You can but I prefer the cold side of the ignition switch so you can't accidentally leave the lights on and run the battery down.
Put a 10 amp fuse at the key switch.
Put 2 switches on the light bar to control each light separately or one switch to operate both lights together.

There seem to be a number of tractor brands coming out of Korea. The LG series is new and most of the reviews are just introductions.<br>

Daedong and Kukje make their own diesel engines. LG is using Mitsubishi and Daedong engines. Mitsubishi is used in the Club Cadet and others. Daedong is used in other Korean brands and Club Cadet.<br>

I would ask is the dealer net work going to be around for the long haul? There seem like a myriad of tractors being introduced into the states lately how many will be around in 10 years when you need parts. Do you know what a David Brown is? A Duetz? It has taken Kioti 20 years to get serious. They started as LG with someone else doing distribution. I guess I am not sure all these tractor distribution networks will survive. Four tractor companies in a country of 48 million seem like a lot. Good grief I think Canada has only one now with 32 million and you could probably place the agricultural land in Korea in one province.

I live on the edge of the heavy woods lost to Hurricane Hugo in 1989 in South Carolina. We had trucks here for many months hauling only that wood trying to salvage it. There were companies hauling about 75 miles one way. There was much they were able to save, much used for pup and much that was lost. Then there are the years before there is any timber from those woods.

Something else that comes into price of building not mentioned is interest rates. Normally as rates go up, materials go down. Rates have been slowly rising.

I went the used route but could trust the dealer it came through. I found a little more discount than you are for about the same hours but mine was 2 years old. Fully agree with finding out on maintance record and why they got ride of it. Kubota does have good financing now I think. As to only $200 difference between the new one, my suggestion buy from the one that you will get it serviced at if you go new. It may be worth much more than the price difference.

In my county there are 2 JD dealers and 1 Kubota. For small machines there must be twice as many Kubota's as JD. My B 2710 has been very good with about 450 hours. No mid mount mower, use 3 point hitch but not their brand. I do not own a JD but that seems unreal for your problems. Are you using high temp grease? Are you getting fittings clean and not pushing dirt into the bearings. Are you pumping enough grease into the fittings? I went to air gun and it sounded great, even when not pumping grease. So I only trust bearings (or any other closed part) to hand gun that I can feel the grease moving though. (I am assuming these are not sealed bearings that you do not grease.)

Go with th B3030.. Thats cheap money for 4 extra HP, plus the B3030 has the better seat (adjustable springs), plus the operating rpms is 200 lower on the B3030. Also, if you decide to sell, trade, you will easily get that extra money back..

I have a 1998 7305 that I have had for about three years. I bought it used and I think that it was worked pretty hard by the first owner, who was a landscape contractor. I use it for general horse farm duty and snowplowing in the winter. It is a very well buildt compact tractor with a strong diesel and strong hydraulics. I have about 650 hours on mine and have not had any problems above routine maintenance. I use mine with a 60" cutter, a 7'blade and a harrow and have been very satisfied with it and have not had any real problems with it other than replacing the original battery and a fuel line. Would buy another without any question, but think this one will probably last as long as I need a tractor.

The below posted link to a Dodge/Cummins Technical Service Bulletin is due to a particular "orange" oil filter that was the proximate cause of the Techical Service Bulletin in the first case. Note that Fram is NOT one of the listed approved oil filters. Evidently, the Dodge and Cummins engineers had some issues with these filters. If using other than the listed approved filters will void my engine warranty in the event of a lubrication related failure; you can bet that I will be using what is called for.

Send me an email at gruby "at" suscom dot net..... I will send you some pictures and specs. Off the top of my head it is a two cylinder 15HP diesel and weights about 1000 lbs. Its fairly narrow and pretty easy to drive. Ill get the manual out and send you any specs you need.

I paid $19K for a 2000 L-35 TLB w/ 900 hrs a year ago. HD trailer included. Best farm investment I ever made. I use other farm attachments with no problem. No known systemic problems with the tractor, loader, or backkhoe. Regards/

It looks like a very practical and useful machine. I could use something like that around the ranch. I notice that the top end speed was 25 mph which is a good bit faster than the Kubota RTV 900 and definitely more hp at nearly 50 hp. I REALLY like the reversable pto. That is a HUGE advantage with a PHD! Does this machine have any type of drive train suspension? Reason I ask is that my 4410 in C range wide open and flat out is REALLY unstable if you start going over bumps or uneven ground or pavement. The Tructor almost looks as if it could fill in for limited duty in place of a Polaris Ranger XP if it has some suspension flex capability to traverse rough terrain. It would be interesting if you could expand on these areas. Thanks!

Shortmag - I know how fast the bike is. In 1996 I got a CBR600F3. Fun bike. But then in 1998 I moved to northern Minnesota. No hills. No curves. Roads just went straight and were flat. I dropped my garage door opener out of my pocket at 145 mph. I found the biggest chunk and it still worked. Then I sold the bike before I got killed or arrested. I knew what would happen.

I'm older now. And slightly more mature. At least I realize I am not invincible and I don't heal as fast as I used to. I also know there is a crap-load of suicidal animals that live near me. Me on bike vs deer = we both lose.

Thank you for your tips on the salt-vinegar-soap for killing vegetation. I plan to use it near our backyard ponds, where we have red-eared sliders and tadpoles (not in the same ponds, of course, since the sliders will eat the tadpoles!). Back when I was living in Virginia and living on a wetlands, I was advised by the local Forestry and Wetlands Boards that Roundup was safe to use around the wetlands. However, since then I've seen reports that the inert ingredients in Roundup can affect the sexual hormones of animals that feed on the vegetation that has been sprayed, and that overspraying Roundup in water is very harmful to amphibians.
