I used the old back against a tree stump trick did not work, even after multiple attempts. I also am depressing the clutch for a few days to see if that may free it. To answer the other question the garage floor is concrete. But the tractor has been outside for 3 months. Any other suggestions would be great. I also have a woods 5 ft belly mower on the IH cuts grass great but only at one setting low. I attach some cabels to a pully system that seems to be designed for the woods, but i can never keep it level and the cables seem to break alot. None the less i was wondering if their was a system used to raise and lower the deck. thanks again

ncrunch32 I was very fortunate in talking with Super Sod (super-sod.com)before going with Zoysia. They will tell you there are many false claims on the value of Zoysia. They suggested Zenith zoysia which can be seeded, plugged or sodded. I used some sod and seed. Seeding it, the way it spreads and such remind me a lot of centipede. It will grow where centipede is afraid to go. I greatly prefer it over centipede or the bermuda grass that is in spots of my yard. super sod says bermuda will not be taken over by zoysia but I really think mine is slowly. Be sure you buy a variety of zoysia that works with your mower. Some are for "reel mowers" only. Fine as frog hairs. It is brown in the winter. More so to me than centipede. I am a big fan of zenith zoysia. Have two friends with totally different yards and they like theirs very much. My yard is 2 acres and a lot of sun located a few miles from Myrtle Beach SC. So far I have always planted rye but must mow the zoysia close or where it is thick the rye will not reach groun to germinate. Golf course friend tells me it left alone it will get so think it kills itself. Hope this helps. KT<br>

Peters, what variety of zoysia did you try? On rotary cutter I would agree a 5 food deck is a large as you want on my B2710 Kubota. It will handle the 52 inch very well in thick wet grass also but 10 acres of that and I would be bored. One point I really like on my B2710 and the 52 inch mower is the mower is the width of the mower. It is great in the woods around us. It will fit between trees full size tractor can not. Also short wheel base helps.

As with most things in life, when you get a do-all machine, it will do everything, it's just not the best thing for any given task. With combination, comes compromise.

If you want a tough but small machine get a B or BX Kubota, or the similar model from another manufacturer.

However, if you want 1500 pallet moving, and 7 foot backhoe abilities, then you don't want something that small.

Your best bet for success and happines with the machine is to get what will do the vast majority of your tasks and either rent or hire a machine to do the other portion.

was under my tractor last night and noticed that my hdl filter has a dent in it(not leaking thank god). this is still the factory filter on it. is it possible that the mower deck could hit it or is there enough clearance. or do you think this could be caused when the factory crated this tractor up on the metal skid. i know for a fact that i did not hit anything as i have only used my tractor on the lawn. plus the way the mark is(which is front to rear) not side to side i dont think the deck could have done this. i have the deck off so i cant tell how much clearance there is. also i cant see any impact mark just a dent? looks like the filter was blue before thay painted the rear end down the assembly line <br>

From my perspective up to a couple of inches of sway is tight. You don't want your link arms to contact the sidewalls of the rear tires. The only instance I can think of having the need to be somewhat tight is if you have a hitch adapter on for a trailer and want to get good positioning control in reverse. Even then, it is surprising how accurate and easy you can back a trailer while having an inch of looseness or more.

Usually the amount of looseness you want is enough to spread the arms to load over the pins. Once it is on, it don't matter if they are tight on the sides.

My neighbor and I are in the process of installing a joint use electric/telecom 270' ditchline with conduit. A couple of weeks ago we brought schedule 40 2" PVC for $4.30/10ft section. Yesterday, we brought the same 2" conduit to complete the telecom part and paid $8.00/10ft section.<br>

It is a process to pull the main block out of the bottom. It is dooable. I have had mine out and switched the boom and dipper blocks around to function the same as a excavator.<br>

I spend a lot of time in the big machines and when I am in close work with the little JD hoe it was not instictive and I had to overconcentrate. Also do not just switch hoses because the blocks have different relief valves on the push/pull sides.<br>

Put a number tag on each line and make a diagram of how they go.<br>

Common tools will do the job but you will need a good quality set of open end wrenches for all the lines.<br>

Just an after thought check all the lines first. A couple of mine were not tight but did not leak that I noticed.

The only drawback with Gorilla Glue is that it has no "gap filling" capability with any strength. It will expand to fill a gap but will not be as strong as regular yellow wood glue (Titebond, Elmers) in the same situation. The large the gap the less the holding strength of the Gorilla Glue. I use both in my carpentry hobby, like anything there is no one perfect solution. Certainly wouldn't use it where there was a chance of the foam getting on the finished surfaces.

It is a recommended adhesive in my business as a hardscaping installer (Interlocking concrete pavers, retaining walls, etc.) for wall caps, etc. due to its strength and affinity for water. I tend not to use it in these applications again due to the foaming. I use a non-foaming urethane adhesive in a tube for those applications, which is also significantly more costly that say Liquid Nails construction adhesive.

The obvious is " the biggest you can afford", but all joking aside, you really need to look closely at where you'll use the tractor as well as any potential uses in the future. Size is a factor as you increase HP. Do you have areas where size or manuverability could be an issue? Based on your statement, you definitely need 4wd. Depending on how quickly you want to brush hog your 7 acres will determine the size of the rotary cutter you will want, which in turn will have an impact on the size of the tractor. Any uses that are not in the picture today, but have even the remotest possibility in the future should be considered. It'll be much cheaper to have some overkill for a few years than to have to go through the purchasing process again when the tractor you bought today won't handle tomorrow's work. Most manufacturers have several frame sizes in their lineup with some overlap in HP. You need to examine what your limiting factors are, then pick a few models, and arrange a test drive. Another factor to consider is ease of attachment of the various implements. 3ph rear implements are all pretty much the same, but what about the loader? Are you planning to leave it on all the time or take it on and off? If you need to take the rotary cutter or finish mower off frequently to pull wagons, you may want one of the quick-attach systems for your 3ph implements.

Thanks for the reply Gearhead. I did take the metal line off and replaced the O-rings that were in the banjo fitting but when I put it back together, it still leaked so I took it back off to make sure that the o-rings didnt fall out and they were fine.
I checked the line over real good and there are no cracks at the banjo fitting. The leak is at the bottom of the fitting that goes into the Transmission housing not at the filter head. If anyone has any suggestions as to what else I can check please advise.

Whatever else you do, don't try to wire around the problem or splice into the tail light wires. It can fry the computer functions under the hood and the dash.

Certain greenies push the ethanol blended gasoline as a way to cut emissions as the ethanol burns cleaner. But you do get less fuel mileage so you end up burning more fuel for the same distance negating some of the clean air gain.

Some vehicles react to the ethanol blend more than others. A motorcycle is one that will react more severely than say a car will. My bike is a high performance bike so I won't even consider putting an ethanol blend into it. If you bike is a touch more on the performance end or has been tweaked, then that may account for your more severe reaction to the ethanol blend.

I'm not a scientist and I have done no technical studies to support my hypothesis.

Is this a new problem or has it always worked this way? Does the loader drift down if you leave it in a raised position? It sounds like you could have a restriction in a hose or steel line. Do any of the steel lines have a kink or sharp bend in it? If this is a problem that has been there since the loader has been installed, I might suspect an obstruction in a line. I have seen plastic caps left on lines when fittings are assembled cause this problem. Once I found a 3/8 nut inside a quick coupler. There are lots of possibilities, let me know if you have any more specifics to help narrow it down.

If your snows are heavy and wet the 5 foot blade might push the tractor aside from the snow instead of vice-versa.

What does the dealer have against the snow plow Kubota designed for the tractor?

The 22NF is a standard BCI battery size but rare even in the normal range. It has plates that are less than 6" wide. They are a special run on any battery line. Let me do a little more hunting I thought maybe we had a solution with the even smaller AGM battery with carrying block.<br>
Maybe I will give a call to East Penn. I know they have the 22NF cases and their AGM and gell lines are rather flexible. I know a couple of friends there are antique tractor restorers. We should have a more friendly ear than Optima.

A friend of mine is having me transfer his Myer snow plow hitch and wiring harness from his '05 to '06 2500HD. It has the snow plow prep package. What all does this prep package include? Is there anything in the package to ease installation of the wiring harness? I saw a bit of information on a GMC Web site that there is a plugged hole in the firewall to pass the harness into the cab.<br>
