My neighbor burns #1 deisel in his equipment and trucks. He mixes filtered/used ATF into the diesel as a substitute for the lack of parafin (#2 has parafin for lubricant, but #1 doesn't). He doesn't seem to have any problems with seals or injectors. I did notice when I was running his Cat 225 excavator that it smoked very blue until it was warmed up--likely from the ATF.

Slightly off-topic, but I talked to a guy that builds houses on the side of his regular job (electrical utility lineman). This was about 3-4 weeks back. At that time, he said plywood had jumped $5 a sheet.

Also, my transformer had blown and needed replacing. I was lucky. My utility is down to 25 transformers left for a 50 x 70 mile service area (mostly rural) for the rest of teh year. Everything else went south. It would suck to lose a transformer in Iowa in December and be told the utility has nothing left.

Last Thursday I was ready for bed as the baby was being fed and everything was done. I brought the dog in and got a good whiff of the lab. Son of a...!! So much for crashing. He knew he was in trouble, but he did it anyway. At least now he's trained to walk into the walk-in-shower by himself. Saves me the trouble of picking up an 80 lbs lab and stuffing him in there. It's nice since it has 2 shower heads. So I just turn on the water and let him soak a bit before I go in there and soap him down. I don't know what it was, but it was probably something dead the other dog had killed.

Ya gotta love 'em!

I'll get the recipe my mom uses for getting skunk out of her dogs. I've been lucky so far, but she has skunks around her house. Her recipe works pretty good.

It may not mean much, but when I was in the market for a new utility tractor, I talked with a guy that worked with the 5003 & 5005 series units over in Europe. He really pushed me towards those because of the reliability of them compared to the 4000 series. I was so darn close too. But the mid-mount mower on the 4000 series and the possibility of my wife needing to drive it pushed me to hydrostat and the 4000 series.

But for your application, sounds like the 5003/5005 series would be an exellent choice.

Oh Man: now I guessing. I'm traveling again this week. When I get home next week I'll pull the manuals out and check the specs again. I do remember there was a hydralics package that was installed on the tractor for just the backhoe. The lines are much larger than the lines for the loader circuits. How do the neighbors like using the forklift setups?

Spray some WD-40 where the shaft that the handle goes on comes out of the creeper gear,it will dry out and get very stiff,also check the oil in the creeper assembly.This fix's it most of the time

The above statement is not correct.

The 'traction lock' ONLY locks the rear axle solid, it does NOT lock the front axle solid, nor does it change the gear ratio between the front and rear axles.

Thru the years I've always had a liking for Case-IH hytran in hydro's as they were the first people to use the hydro's. I have had the time to see the differences in transmissions and I only recommend the Super UDT! There is no real copy as much as some say they can! Super UDT is not a 20 weight in any shape or form meaning in cold weather you definitly will be hurting the life of your tractor.

Ken, a 3" i.d. is at the big end of the scale and that isn't helping any.

The combination setups are becoming very popular, but they are definitely a compromise. The important thing about those style hitches is that they have the correct ball moun ted in them. It must have a very large diameter shoulder at the bottom where it meets the coupler. The shoulder should be at least 2" high if not 3", and 2"+ in diameter.

If it has a regular trailer ball on it, that's the problem.

The best solution would be to get a proper, matched set of pintle hook and lunette ring. Usually the lunette ring is adjustable, that means it's also removeable. You can either buy a 'regular' ball hitch to bolt back on, or just get a lunette ring with a smaller I.D. to put on.

On tough terrain, the pintle is a good style of hitch.

I still have not installed the parts -- there are so many things I am trying to get done in anticipation of moving into the new house, I haven't taken the time to tackle the project. Once I move in, I'll make the modification.

My anti-sway bars are really bent. I think it is from usng my 5' RFM and mowing across a hill on a regular basis.

I'll echo the others. The best place for a ball hitch is the factory drawbar. I mounted a 2" ball on my drawbar to do exactly the same thing you are. It works great. Since my factory drawbar is not removable, I still use a 2-point drawbar for lightweight towing of implements with a clevis-type hitch. The 2-point drawbar can also be used as an aid to help couple the ball hitch if your trailer is too heavy to lift. Run a chain over the drawbar, lift the tongue with the 3PH, and slowly lower it onto the ball. Voila!

I recently bought a TC 30 with Loader, Mid mount mower (5 ft.)R4 tires with rear loaded, block heater, 4 wheel drive. and hydrostat. All New Holland , PAID $16000.00.
Also bought a 5 foot first choice tiller and planted a couple acres of food plots for deer.
Boy what a differense from a 641 ford.
You will regret getting one with out the fel loader.
Only takes minutes to attach or tke off loader or mower.

On the 50 hour service cost? I picked up my tracto the other week from a close dealership (to my place) They only charged me $135! For that price I figured hav at it. I still have the filters gave to me by the purchasing dealer so I will do thew next one myself. (LOL) Figure at the rate I am going I will be about 65yrs old by the next one and at that point and time I should have ALL kinds of time.
Anyway $135 for the service In northern Wis.

NEED help. A buddy has a model 15 international tiller FOR A CUB CADET (the off white one). He had me make him a part for it so it will fit his tractor (not a cub cadet). He now finds out that the cub cadets power take off spins the opposit way that his other tractors spins???????? The gearing in the tiller is set up for the direction that the cub spins. (Is this making any sense??) So when he runs the tiller with his other tractor the tiller rotates backwards????????<br>
PLEASE any help or insight to this matter also if you know of any solutions to it please inform me!<br>
This guy is an older (back woods hickish) helluva nice guy and saves everything he can. (you all know the type)<br>
I would like to help him and told him I would ask ya all! Peters, thanks for the link. I will look into this. In the mean time, I am working on exchanging or returning the battery I currently have. If I can exchange this battery for a version that has the hold down lugs as shown in the link picture; it will be a perfect fit and match.

I did not realize you were referring to the Cummins either, sorry for the confusion. I knew the HD axles in those vehicles were Dana and have not heard of any problems with them.

I would like ya's opinion on what size of implement to get for my midget tractor. It has 14 horsepower, 11 hp at pto.<br>
What size of rotary cutter do ya recommend? i got (3) 40lb<br>
weights for it. Tractor is the size of a nice big Garden tractor. just need to use to shred grass. maybe move some stuff around or till. I know they make a 3ft cutter for it and would like to use a 42 inch. Whatever experience ya have with one of these midgets would be appreciated.
