For those of you in construction, what are you seeing in price increases due to the hurricanes. In my area, Kentucky, the 2004 hurricanes in Florida pushed up the lumber and drywall prices during the winter and early spring. They dropped back during the summer. <br>

Another issue is material shortages. Have any of you experienced this. I work for an electric utility and some material deliveries have been pushed back for a few months, but this should improve by winter or early spring.<br>

From what I have read the housing starts in July and August where down considerably from earlier in the year and in 2004. This should help on the supply and demand.<br>
<br>
I hope to build in the spring, but not if lumber costs are considerably higher and materials are in short supply.<br>

I'm in the middle of converting a fork truck mast to a 3 pt mount on my JD 855. My plan is to take the hydraulic power from the circuit that powers my backhoe. I want to add essentially another joystick for the raise and tilt cylinders, but am concerned about the flow rate. As that circuit has a higher volume pump, do I need to be concerned that all valves and piping have to be sized to handle full flow or will the excess flow past the pressure relief valve? I'm also considering using remote solenoid valves mounted on the mast and a 12V joystick. Anyone ever do anything similar. I built a spliter once that used a 12V valve, a limit switch to reverse direction and a button to start the cycle.<br>

I looked at what their site had to offer and they pretty much cover it. The electric PTO clutch mounting, as long as the crank is the same diameter that the big hurtle. If the clutch uses just a torque arm the mounting is easy. If the clutch is mounted to the block then the mounting distances are more critical as the brake may not release or engage fully if the distances are off. The adapter to mate the drive shaft to the flywheel will probably be different, unless they include an custom adapter. A local machine shop can turn your adapter or make a new one for under $50. The mounting holes pattern will probably be different, but it may be a simple as drilling new holes or maybe fabricating a new mount. The exhaust will probably require a little creativity if you use all of your original jd parts. Fuel system should be no problem. Electrically the Honda probably has a built in regulator rectifier. Your Onan probably used a remote mounted unit. One replaces the other just a little rewiring may be needed. Ignition switch, some engines need 12v to the ignition to run and others have a built in magneto, so they have to be grounded to run. The electrical drawings for the tractor and the information supplied with the engine will help you figure that out. Go For It. Re-powered a good tractor chassis will go a lot of years for a minimal investment. I've taken Bolens QTs built in the 70s, stripped them down to just frame and castings and repowered them during the rebuild. Satisfaction.

Congrats on your purchase. I have the B7500 with the LA302 loader, 4' BB and 5' rake.

This machine is a true work horse, but there are times I wished I upgraded to a large, heavier duty CUT. But those times are few.

One little tip. At first, I was very hesitant to remove the loader, thinking it would be a PITA. I just left it on, and mowed my grass... often clipping tree trunks. Then I removed it. I can tell you, it can't get any easier! It really does come off in less the 3 mintues.

Randy, I checked the battery compartment on my 4310 this morning and there isn't the slightest trace of corrosion or moisture. The dust on top of the battery and around the cap is as dry as a bone. Are you sure your machine isn't overcharging? Maybe the vented battery cap I have fits better than the one you are using.

If you browse the Kubota and JD forums here I think you'll find roughly comparable numbers of problems. All brands have their issues, and some manufacturers are more up-front and public with their problems than others. JD posts their recall notices on their web site, not sure what Kubota does. As with cars, first year models tend to have more teething problems.

I am clueless when it comes to tractors and prices. But, my grandfather was taken to the emergency room yesterday and while they didn't say cancer of the lung, they said the news didn't look good. Needless to say, he's got doctor's appointment after doctor's appointment this week.<br>

He is wanting us to sell his 2004 Kubota L3130E-F for money to pay bills with. It's a 2wd, has 40 hours on it and is in great condition...he always took care of his equipment.<br>

Can someone give me an idea of what this is worth? As I said, we're all totally clueless, but we're trying to handle things for him so he has less stress.<br>

I went to my local dealer for a remote valve for my TC33D. They quoted me a price of $480 for the kit for one valve and an additional $480 for the second valve. Since I had seen other prices on this forum much lower, I checked around. John at Corriher Tractor gave me a price including shipping to South Dakota of $325. John did say the second remote kit was about $500.

Since I am a DIY kind of person, I installed the kit in just over an hour. The instructions seemed sketchy at first; however the installation went without much difficulty. The biggest problem I had was the existing 3 point lever interfered with the newly installed lever. A little persuasion and installation was completed.

Before buying my Kubota I used a scoop on my Ford 2N quite a bit. For moving dirt you can just put the 3pt down, drive forward and scoop it up. IF it's reversed and mounted scoop backward it's easy to throw rocks on and haul them away. Then just trip the bucket and dump. My King Kutter wasn't much over $200 (four years ago).

yep there is a lock for the deck..but was thinking about the other way arround.If i have an attachment on the 3ph it moves in sinc with the deck hence on lowering the deck i drop what ever is there.

Work has been beyond hectic this year & I am looking forward to getting some relaxation time in in 10 weeks when the ground freezes. I have had no time to come here & update but today its raining so I thought I would. After disassebling the backhoe valve control, I found the o ring's & seals to be out of place & damaged. I replaced them & everything is functioning as it should now but I thought I should update this thread! Thanks harvey & art for your input!

I am a landscaper also & one of my guys has an ankle issue so I opted to buy the gst tranny & we love it. You can vertualy not use your feet at all if you choose not too on the gst.

well i just bought a new tc33da, 72 rt and 14la. drove it 5 miles home from dealer to break it in at varialble speed in the rain at 48 F. after getting home i decided to try the rt cutter. 30 min. later i came across a log in the mowing path and i jumped of to move by hand. of course the tc33da stoped cuz i didn't shut pto or put trans in nutral. well guess what. it would not restart. so i go home and checked every messeage and reply from tractor point. i checked every fuse and switch. still nothing. i crawl under and find a loose wire to pto. i plug it in and walla... it started. i just want to say thanks to all you members that post here and give opions. it realy helped me out. this forum is truly pricless.

FYI - The clutch packs in the limited slip Dana's in the Dodge need the oil to be changed periodically. I had mine done at around 75,000. Most people don't think about changing it although it is in the manual.

I will try to give you some pespective. My Mcmillan 1850 is rated for 15 to 30 GPM. My excavator is only capable of 12.6 GPM at full throttle. I never run it past half throttle and have no problem with 6 to 30 inch holes. I would not want it turning faster, just more wear. I estimate I am running about 9 GPM where 15 is supposed to be the min. The pressure does count. I am pushing around 3000 PSI. Mcmillan makes several models. One smaller one is the X1450 rated for 10 to 25 GPM and augers up to 30 inches. Another is the X950 rated for 6 to 15 GPM and up to 24 inch augers. Obviously the lower GPM models are geared for more speed with less flow and therefore lower torque. I would rather have the higher torque and less speed by over rating the auger for the machine. Several companies including Mcmillan make a cheesy chain driven hydraulic auger rather than a direct gear driven model. Mine is over 15 years old and I have done no maintenance at all. As far as putting it on a CUT, it should not be a problem. My 4300 can put out 8.3 I believe, so it may run the 1850 but would be better with the 1450. Adding hydraulics can be cheap or costly. The 3rd valve I added from ebay for about $140 or so, that was the cheap part. My front hydraulics were the big part. I added a bracket by the loader disconnects with identical couplings that run to the factory outlets in the back. That way when I disconnect the loader, I do not have to undo the hydraulic lines all the way from the attachment to the back of the tractor. I also added flush face couplers from a bobcat on a bracket by the bucket. All the hoses, couplings and fittings added up quick.
