Both machines are very good. I would have to say after running the TP site since 1998 that there seem to be more recalls on the Deere side so I would give an edge to Kubota on that score, the good news is that the Deere issues seem to get resolved with fixes from Corporate to the dealer network. So both owners of Green and Orange are generally pretty happy and loyal to their brand.

I went to my local dealer for a remote valve for my TC33D. They quoted me a price of $480 for the kit for one valve and an additional $480 for the second valve. Since I had seen other prices on this forum much lower, I checked around. John at Corriher Tractor gave me a price including shipping to South Dakota of $325. John did say the second remote kit was about $500.

Since I am a DIY kind of person, I installed the kit in just over an hour. The instructions seemed sketchy at first; however the installation went without much difficulty. The biggest problem I had was the existing 3 point lever interfered with the newly installed lever. A little persuasion and installation was completed.

Before buying my Kubota I used a scoop on my Ford 2N quite a bit. For moving dirt you can just put the 3pt down, drive forward and scoop it up. IF it's reversed and mounted scoop backward it's easy to throw rocks on and haul them away. Then just trip the bucket and dump. My King Kutter wasn't much over $200 (four years ago).

yep there is a lock for the deck..but was thinking about the other way arround.If i have an attachment on the 3ph it moves in sinc with the deck hence on lowering the deck i drop what ever is there.

Work has been beyond hectic this year & I am looking forward to getting some relaxation time in in 10 weeks when the ground freezes. I have had no time to come here & update but today its raining so I thought I would. After disassebling the backhoe valve control, I found the o ring's & seals to be out of place & damaged. I replaced them & everything is functioning as it should now but I thought I should update this thread! Thanks harvey & art for your input!

I am a landscaper also & one of my guys has an ankle issue so I opted to buy the gst tranny & we love it. You can vertualy not use your feet at all if you choose not too on the gst.

well i just bought a new tc33da, 72 rt and 14la. drove it 5 miles home from dealer to break it in at varialble speed in the rain at 48 F. after getting home i decided to try the rt cutter. 30 min. later i came across a log in the mowing path and i jumped of to move by hand. of course the tc33da stoped cuz i didn't shut pto or put trans in nutral. well guess what. it would not restart. so i go home and checked every messeage and reply from tractor point. i checked every fuse and switch. still nothing. i crawl under and find a loose wire to pto. i plug it in and walla... it started. i just want to say thanks to all you members that post here and give opions. it realy helped me out. this forum is truly pricless.

FYI - The clutch packs in the limited slip Dana's in the Dodge need the oil to be changed periodically. I had mine done at around 75,000. Most people don't think about changing it although it is in the manual.

Art is right on. It it is not a honda it is 2nd best or worse. Check out this web site, they have the complete honda kit as well as the low quality replacements. They also list on ebay regularly.

I will try to give you some pespective. My Mcmillan 1850 is rated for 15 to 30 GPM. My excavator is only capable of 12.6 GPM at full throttle. I never run it past half throttle and have no problem with 6 to 30 inch holes. I would not want it turning faster, just more wear. I estimate I am running about 9 GPM where 15 is supposed to be the min. The pressure does count. I am pushing around 3000 PSI. Mcmillan makes several models. One smaller one is the X1450 rated for 10 to 25 GPM and augers up to 30 inches. Another is the X950 rated for 6 to 15 GPM and up to 24 inch augers. Obviously the lower GPM models are geared for more speed with less flow and therefore lower torque. I would rather have the higher torque and less speed by over rating the auger for the machine. Several companies including Mcmillan make a cheesy chain driven hydraulic auger rather than a direct gear driven model. Mine is over 15 years old and I have done no maintenance at all. As far as putting it on a CUT, it should not be a problem. My 4300 can put out 8.3 I believe, so it may run the 1850 but would be better with the 1450. Adding hydraulics can be cheap or costly. The 3rd valve I added from ebay for about $140 or so, that was the cheap part. My front hydraulics were the big part. I added a bracket by the loader disconnects with identical couplings that run to the factory outlets in the back. That way when I disconnect the loader, I do not have to undo the hydraulic lines all the way from the attachment to the back of the tractor. I also added flush face couplers from a bobcat on a bracket by the bucket. All the hoses, couplings and fittings added up quick.

Am curious if either machine is available with a remote hydraulic coupler to run a hydraulic post-hole digger that bolts to the FEL bucket. The motors for these augers need 5gpm to 10gpm. I am wondering if the pumps on these tractors are two small to run such an item. They are used all the time on skid loaders. I like the idea of down pressure and easy sighting while using the loader, as I will be digging a ton of holes for posts, and for planting trees/shrubs.
