Have any of y'all have anyone complain about the 3 point hitch on the 2800s being rough. Every time I raise and lower any implement it shakes the whole tractor. I am new to tractor owning but not operating and this just does not seem right. Thanks for your time.

Bought a PTO gen over 2 years ago. I have needed to use it 1 time for about 4 hours, During the summer. A transformer blew. Wife had a big run of embroidery to do.

I bought a Tiger brand for $2000. If I need to have power I really do not care about how many hours it might need to run. Like wise I'm not gonna run one 24/7 in case of a major outage. Hours are hours wether on a gen engine or a tractor. I can always unhook the hour meter if I was concerned. I would like to get a small breifcase size one to run woodstove fans at night, if it's winter.

I do drag it out 2 times a year just to exercise it. An hour of welding with heavy amps is enough, me thinks.

In the event you do need tractor to do something else it does not hurt to leave the house with out power for a few hours.

My heating oil tank stays full so I have plenty of fresh fuel for tractor in the event of a major outage. If it"s a major event I'm not leaving house anyway and roads would probably be impassable.

I couldn't tell from your profile, but you do know how to tow safely from a 3-point hitch right? Since the 3ph doesn't have down pressure the trailer tongue can rise up on you and cause damage the tractor or injure the operator. Plus, if you pull with the hitch too high the tractor can flip over backwards. Some mechanism should be implemented to prevent the hitch from raising too high. The Bad River hitch I use has a safety chain that limits upward travel. Be safe out there.

It's a 20 horsepower hydro four wheel drive with a weight of about 1/2 the boat so caution should be used. I figure if I tow my boat with a two wheel drive golf cart and that weighs about 2500lbs you should be safe. I also tow cars and push them in with it. I'm just moving things in and out of the garage and around the yard not trying to tow it down the road at 30 mph.

Just a heads up for anyone considering ordering the battery I posted a link to above. The battery came in late yesterday and is the correct size dimensionally but for some odd reason did not have the hold down lugs on the sides of the battery as shown in the picture. I am working with the owner of Battery Stuff dot come work exchange this battery for one with the lugs. When I get it in and install it; I will post some feedback. In the mean time, I would suggest holdig off ordering this battery until they figure out what the problem is and ensure the batteries shipped have the hold down lugs.

I, too, was worried about dropping the loader on my 2210. The video looked too easy!! But I find that after a few times I can do it quickly and easily. The only problem I ran into the first time was not taking pressure off the lines before un-hooking them. As a result I had two connections that I could not get back on because of pressure build up. I wound up just loosening the fitting to bleed a bit of fluid and then everything was OK. It hasn't happened since - a rookie error I figure.<br>

I dropped my loader in the "back yard" recently on uneven ground. That was a chore to get it lined up again. Next time it will only be flat and level ground for me.<br>

Dropping the loader after running with it for so long makes my unit feel like a sports car!!<br>

John,
I have a 2001 7205. It is a workhorse for it's size. So far I'm totally satisfied with my tractor and would recomend Cub's 7000 series to anyone. One word of caution, be sure and check the engine mounting and loader mounting bolts frequently. I havent had any issues but others have had damage when bolts backed out unnoticed.

I saw one post of someone that had installed the over under drive. I am thinking about it as I am nearing my power train waranty. What are the pros and cons? Has anyone had any problems?

Unfortunately the squeeky wheel gets the grease. The dealer is not necessarily going to act as your advocate. In this case he did a little as he got the crank for free. If you did not move the problem from the dealer to the area service rep. then you can not necessarily expect to recieve satifaction.
In this day and age we do not expect the crank to break on a young tractor. There must have been a flaw in the casting of the crank.
From what I know of the DK series this is very rare. If you squeek I believe Kioti will make it right as Murf says Kubota does.
I had a Toyota have a serious engine problem a few years back. It was just out of waranty also. I talked with the dealer and got no where. Then I insisted that I talk with the service rep. and Toyota provided free service.

James and Paul Burdens shop number is 270-788-9391. I talked with them to see if they are still doing tractors. He said the rebuilt 5 Low boys last year.

I have a small trailer that was originally the back of an old small pickup. I mean old as it is probably 1920's. I have towed it both ways but with the larger tractor I can us the 3 pt to dump the trailer. The 3 pt hitch is best the 2 pt is difficult to back up and will twist the ball or pin.

If you shorten the top link it will keep the cutting edge out of the gravel. After freeze up lenghten it out and let the edge cut some.<br>

EDIT: This says opposite of Murf. I'm going by the 2 I've owned. I am not up to speed on yours so Murf may be right. Try it on a flat hard surface so you can see the difference.

I just checked mine and they are fairly stiff. I could get it to turn, but took good effort with one hand. I have 132k miles.

Hi, I want to the dealer and offered my concerns with John Deere's recomendation of not changing filter or fluid until 400 hrs. He called Deere and spoke to their tech guy and was told that tests they have done indicated that early changes aren't necessary and that on future tractors they would be raising the interval to 600 hrs for the first change.
