I will be interested to know what happens. The last unit I bought and installed was to be HDTV ready, all I needed to do was change receivers. I have installed about 4 or 5 unit all together. I was suprised to here that they wanted an installer to do it.

Sorry 2ndhand, I didn't see the 5205 specifically listed so I wanted to get it out there.

I agree that is he's serious about mowing 60 acres and such, he'll need to get into bigger stuff than a 5205 as he'll want a big honking mower and those take power.

The loader on the 2210 is more than capable. I have had no problems what so ever moving heaping full buckets (49�) of dirt or gravel. Although, you may have to take a little less in the bucket if you are moving wet sand. The loader does not work well at breaking out compacted soil, but then again that�s not what the loader on these machines was designed for. See my picture #1.

One thing to think about. Will you be taking the MMM off and putting it back on very often? If so, I think you will be much happier with the RFM. It takes about a minute to unhook and drive away from the RFM and probably 3 or 4 minutes to hook it back up. The MMM is not nearly as quick but I'm not speaking from personal experience, with the MMM.

I have the RFM and once you get used to it, you don't have to look behind you as much as you may think. Another good thing about a RFM is you can backup under low lying limbs.

The 72" RFM may be pushing it for your tractor but you can compensate for that by how often you mow.

I have a Zetor 5245 tractor and would like to put a 3PT backhoe on. The Zetor is a small "big" tractor, i.e. it is not a compact diesel. At something like 7000 pounds, it is not small.<br>

Does one need a subframe for a backhoe on such a tractor? I think the design philosophy for the 5245 must have been "make it more massive"...it is well built. I understand with compacts the engineering is more refined, and no doubt a subframe is very important. With the mass of the Zetor, I'm thinking it wouldn't know it is there for the most part. I thinking of a smaller 3PT hoe...not some 10' digging depth monster.<br>

Second question....I'd like to be able to dig ditches, break up stump roots, etc with the hoe. Not looking to dig foundations on a daily basis. What kind of breakout force is the "minimum" for digging up stumps and whatnot? I assume a smaller breakout nearly always work, just means a litle slower.<br>

I own a DK40 and I have a steering problem. I own a piece of land situated at 25 km from my home. I noticed, the first time I took the road, that the steering wheel revolved approximatively 10 times during those 25 km. I have to correct the steering wheel towards the left. Descending a hill with a right curve, I still have to correct towards the left. The day I a will have � loaded trailor pushing me, what will happen. That scare's me.

I had the Orbitrol changed a couple of time, the direction ajusted, the cylindres changed and still, I have to correct towards the left 1 full turn every 2 Km in order to go straight ahead.

I also heaurd that DK 35 in Qu�bec have the same problem.

The R-4 tires are a "so so" compromise between turf and ag tires. The R-4's tire lugs will load up with mud fast and do not clear themselves out like the R-1 ag tires will. Even then, any tractor will sink and just dig in if it hits a bad patch of ground. I have seen full sized 180 hp 4WD dual rear tire ag tractors stuck up to their frames. It can happend fast and really be a mess to retreve them.

All of the tasks you described can be done with an L-series machine. However, if you want a rotary cutter over 7' wide, I'd go straight to the M-series. The larger L's such as the L4630 or L5030 have enough PTO HP to get the job done, but you might like the extra size and mass of an M4900 or an M5700. If you need extra manuverability or just like the smaller chassis, go with a large L. If you're more comfortable with a bigger heavier tractor go with a small M. If you like the M-series but want to limit cost go with the MX5000. It's a budget model comparable in size to the L5030. As far as color goes I'm partial to Orange, but most people here will tell you to shop for the best dealer as much as the right machine.

IF it snapped off, maybe but a bend, that would be hard to get warranteed. As a dealer I might offer to try and straighten it at no charge to you but I'd also tell you it could never be perfectly straight again and the bend would be a weak point for it to happen again. I might also offer you a discount if you are a regular customer.

I just bought a TC35 with a FEL,along with a lot of other things. The price for the trctor and loader in Woodland, CA was $19,000.00. I wanted a backhoe as well so I chose to go with the 35. When I compared specs with the ones I was comparing, the NH had them beat. I don't get mine untill next week because they had to order in the hoe I wanted as well as a couple of other goodies. I wasn't interested in the Super Steer, but there is some interesting posts on this site about it. I agree with the others, you can't go wrong with the loader.

Ann most of this info is from studies done "last updated 05/25/99." While I am not disagreeing with anyone here what is not being considered in the posted opinions is many manufactures have either been sold or accquired by another and we simply can't say for certain if original specs have changed or not!!

The last info I was able to find mirrors the one "ed above and this is the updated version a-la 1999!!

joel, what attachments do you have besides the mower? I bought the diesel thinking the resale value for the tractor would be higher. Where abouts do you live? I live on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Have you had any issues with you ventrac? I started my unit last spring and pulled it of of my garage to warm it up for a while and after I shut it off I couldn't start it again. It was like it died. Turns out that all it was was a ground under the seat needed to be tightened. The boys at Ventrac worked me through a list of areas to check and say saved me a few hundred dollas easly if I had to have my dealer drive out to service the unit. Any recommendations where to get pricing besides my dealer for the snow blower and cab if I decide to keep my tractor?

Thanks for the quick reply ill check over the list but im thinking of trying to get out of this deal and take the loss of 2 months payments i dont think i want to let this dealer rake me over the coals anymore. maybe i should have gone with a kabota lol well ill see what i can do thanks for your help ill let you know how i make out i was hopeing it was just a simple sensor malfunction or simple electrical problem since this is computer controlled i figured the diag should have been simple and painless at the dealer but guess not

I've used a rear blade and loader to clear snow in the mountains of the Monadnock region in New Hampshire for the last 14 years. It works well with a big heavy machine and a blade that is wider than the rear wheels. If your 3pt has draft (float) control no sweat. As many have said KNOW THE LAY OF THE LAND BEFORE YOU PLOW! If you take it slowly and learn what obstacles are in you path it's a very effective method of snow removal.
