I have XP Pro with IE installed but use Mozilla as default browser. I have SP2 installed along with all MS updates. I have not had any problems with Mozilla. Also use Mozilla Thunderbird for default e-mail.

Is it just me

Leave Iraq out of the equation. We did what we had to do to help secure the "region". Let's have the people or governments of the "region" kick in to help the rebuilding effort. It was their security that was at risk, along with ours. Let's get some of the excess dollars from the region pumped in to help. UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia are a few neighbors that will benefit from Saddams fall. Let's get more participation from them. They have more dollars than they can count.

Bmeyer, I assume then you use a rear facing snowblower? Oops, I looked at pic 13 and shows a front snowblower. I assume you move them according to the task at hand?

AC,

I own at 2210 and looked at the new 2305 several times in the last weeks including yesterday. I don't see much difference other than styling of the hood. Other minor things include different shaped pedals, and a revised Upper Arm support in the back, but beyond that?? Sure, it is supposed to have 1 HP more, but I doubt anyone will notice that - I sure wouldn't.

I've heard smarter people than me talk about the new loader as not being a Quick Attach, but I guess there is another version that is. Which one are you getting? THe 2210 loader was only a quick attach.

Murf, Hardwood and AV8R always have good insight. Hopefully they will respond to your question too.

I agree. I do a lot of driving on the paved secondary roads in the area and get the best milage at about 45 and 5th. If I put the computer on current mph reading and work the hills I can do better than with the cruise.

Agree that grapple is amazing aid if you have a lot of wood to move around. I have a Borgford with skidsteer type quick attach. just a minute or two to change from regular bucket and another couple of minutes to hook up the two hydraulic lines you'll need to open and close the "mouth" of the grapple. The Borgford I got for my L3130 was pushing $3,000, but that brand has been discussed quite a bit on this site and I've never heard or seen anything but the highest praise for them. (They have them smaller and bigger, but the price is not all that much among the different sizes.)

You would not be able to get over the center of the bed at maximum heighth. You could dump at max heighth but only if the pile is no more than 5" over the sides.
You could dump in the center the first load but after that it would be difficult.
It is a bit hard to determine with the values for most loaders, for example the loader on the NH TC30 has a higher lift and heighth when curled but it has only a 12" reach at this point. You almost need to try it to tell.

I think everyone has answered most of the questions. I don't know any one in Shelbyville, but James Burden had a business in Cloverport KY. He restores IH and had a few Low boys. He is reasonably priced, you may contract him to do the whole tractor. If interested I could get his number.

Tighten the axle (the one that allows width adjustment) attachment lock bolts!! It's a common thing and needs to be retorqued occasionaly.

Deere makes two different rear power kits. One diverts your SCV power to the rear.

The other is a power beyond kit. This is the one that you would need to run a splitter, backhoe or any other device that has its own control valves.

RTV's do make a lot of power in the forward gears. If you try to take on too much it will kill the engine.

Where they are feeble is in reverse. The engine won't quit because it triggers some sort of hydraulic bypass. Bury the wheels in 4 inches of sand and it does nothing in reverse. It just sits there. The engine races, but the wheels refuse to turn.

Power requirements:

Typically (you will hear of people using less power for these applications, but it is not recommended, and most will not be happy with performance, as well as it falls under the heading of "abuse" to the tractor) you need 5hp per foot of brush hog, 3.5 hp per foot of finish mower, 20 hp per foot diameter on a post hole auger, 6hp per foot of rototiller (these are at the PTO). Pushing snow, hp is not a factor, as the bucket is fit to the individual tractor, and will lift when full of snow. The limiting factor here is traction (read that as weight and 2wd v 4wd).

No, it isn't an option for heavier loads. It is an easier, cheaper, and MUCH stronger axle than the a-arms.

3. Enough length to adjust positioning for balance

I have an 18' car hauler (7000# GVW) which works great for my BX. It is also long enough to use for other applications and is not limited to tractor duty only. I consider a trailer like this to need to have more than one use, so therefore a little too big for the BX makes it big enough to haul the neighbor's B7800 or the other neighbor's B7100 with FEL and 'Hoe on it (Or go pick up my car when the bolts on the CV shaft fall out!) or any one of a hundred other uses I've done with it.

12 point torx... Yeah, gotta love 'em. I've had to "resharpen" mine several times too, LOL. I too noticed that the shafts and joints are larger than on the Chevy half ton plow truck I have.

Thanks for the experience notes. Car *seems* to be okay again now, so I'll give the Mrs her car back and put the truck away again, sigh. I was beginning to get used to a car with cruise, a/c, comfy seats, and...

You might be right about the 6 wheeler vs. 4 but I do want a 4X4 with dump bed. Aby recommendations outside of the Kubota, Kawasaki, and Polaris?
