This thread has brought up some interesting information, enough to know that those numbers your tire guy quoted you are probably wrong.

At 10.7 lbs/gallon (Ron's number from the RimGuard site) the tires hold 54.95 gallons (588 lbs / 10.7 lbs/gal).

At a rate of 4.2 lbs/gallon CaCl weighs 11.875 lbs/gallon. 54.95 gallons x 11.875 means the CaCl mixture would weigh 652 lbs. A five lb. mix may weigh even more, but I don't have the weight at a 5 lb rate.

The extra weight may not matter to you but you might want to know about it.

I would visit my local welding/fabricating shop or larger construction equipment company and see if they have some odd- sized cutting edge laying around that they would want to get rid of. Some come with 90 degree bends on the neds that willo certian machines unless modified. You can always grind or torch off what you don't need. Or even talk to larger rental yards (like a Cat dealer) and see where they get their cutting edges done. I have had the same cutting edge on my backhoe for 6 years now and it looks new. New then was about $180 from the New Holland dealer, and $250 for a friend to remove and replace. I used one intended for a larger front end loader.

They did offer a creeper gear which gave them a big speed reduction. The two models are nearly twins with only small differences. Many of the manuals available today are only copies.

I've got the TC33D with SuperSteer and love it. If you can afford it the hydro-drive is a must have especially with a loader. SuperSteer (or rather "$uper$steer"---kinda pricey) is great for close-quarter use such as mowing around trees. If you haven't demo'd one --try it! With the D or newer DA you get a spring-suspension seat, tilt and telescoping stering wheel, cruise control, selectable differential lock, and automatic sensing 4x4 which for mowing nice lawn ---doesn't engage until it needs to so you don't scuff the lawn when turning tightly. I don't have a loader (have other equipment for that) but if I did it all over again I would get it next time. You could get forks that clamp onto the bucket for moving bales of hay or firewood (eBay has them). If you get a loader be sure to remind the dealer to adjust the relief setting for the loader itherwise you won't be able to lift like it should.

Just a follow up post to clarify that you will still have to pay sales tax on the red dye diesel or show proof of exemption. Purchases should keep and be able to show a receipt verifying that they have paid the sales tax if need be.

I compared it to the Woods HD model and it was about 200 lbs heavier. I was told that Woods builds them to JD specs not their own specs.

I am just finishing up schooling to get my real estate license. In PA where I am, a contractor can put a lien on you but if you have a mortgage, the contractor cannot force forclosure. If he doesn't do anything for 2 years, which he cannot with a mortgage, it is void. I asked a contractor friend about it and he said it has and is happening to him now. Nothing he can do about it unless the guy sells or the bank forcloses. Another intersting item is that it is possible to record several notices, with different stipulations that only the general cont. may place liens, or that no one may place a lien on your property if a tennant orders the improvement. It must be posted after it is recorded and you may get protest from any contractor about to do work for you, but it can be done. I am going to do it as we are letting my inlaws build a house on our property and I darn sure don't want any problems with looser contractors.

If you want to keep any info you discover out of the govenment channels, you may be able to contact a local treatment company. Around here, there are water conditioning companies going around knocking on doors at times offering free well tests. We got one and they did test for bacteria. It is just that their results detemine if it is safe to drink, if you get someone with no further knowledge, you will have to interpret the results yourself as far as swimming.

I checked on Propane 2-days ago and the price was $1.24/gal. I also have the option of pre-paying as much as I would want at that same price. When asked about a future price increase, even with all the noise about fuel prices in the news, they thought the price of propane would rise only slightly over the next few months.

I've resisted responding to this thread for well over a year now and have finally gotten up enuf gumption to respond. "I am" an owner of a Futian 354 Leopard. That's a 2004, 4wd and 35 hp weighing in at close to 5,000lbs. I probably own the last one admitted into the U.S. (just a guess) It has the offending blue/black color of New Holland. I purchased it from the dealer (now defunct) named in the lawsuit. Chinese tractors are here to stay just like India and Japan Tractors. The tractor has provided me good use in the 86 hours I have put on it. My unit has a Leon Loader that is also top-othe-heap good! As far as the New Holland is concerned, If you take away the hood you have taken away any semblance of the NH. I paid approx $13,000 for this unit w/loader plus tax tag and title. If you plan to diss the Futian or my report please don't bother. I purchased the Futian for the main reason everyone else buys off brand ...Price! Sure I would have rather had the NH or a MF or even a JD but you can't touch what I got for at least 50% more. I have had a few minor issues with this unit but so far nothing to get concerned about. To do an IP reverse look up and find the service provider of anyone who posts such garbage is a very simple, and free, thing to do.

Based on past experience elsewhere, a simple email from Dennis, or even a few users, will quickly get the IP service provider's attention.

This was done on another board I participate in. The 'anonymous' person found there internet service disconnected for violating their providers TOS (terms of service) agreeemnt.

Maybe America Online would feel the same way about "Finn".

It is difficult to get the air back out of the Yanmars. If you ran it dry it is likely to have to bled the system again. I have worked hours on my Deere at times to get all the air back out. The run and sputter is common when it is near empty.
