If there is water flow through the lake I would think it would have cleaned up even if the cows died in it. Often people test once and then assume it is forever. At my aunt and uncle's cottage lake there was a spring that was the best water. There were no people on the side of the lake were the spring was. One year in the early summer some one tested it and it came back bad. Likely mice or something had fallen in over the winter. After that they decided not to use the water and trucked drinking water in from town.

We faired fairly well here although near the center. We had more damage in Ivan. I really only had downed limbs. Unfortunately it knocked the power out for the internet high speed wireless towers. I had power but could not easily get on the internet.

Definately pigeon bait. I had a few quotes like this and I am sure they are looking for a quick score. Often contractors will low ball a job to get it and then add material etc to sweeten their deal. I agree you need to check this guy out.

No snow in my area, so no plow steel. But I have
ordered plow steel (unbeveled) for a backhoe bucket
before (shipped from the midwest).

A 1/2" x 4" beveled piece of plow steel
is about 6 lb/foot, or about 30 lb for a 60" piece.
This is "hot rolled medium carbon" C-1055 steel.
It shouldn't cost over $100 (you would think).

Unfortunately my steel supplier (PDM) can't get it.

Does anyone have any direct knowledge of poor resale of Kiotis or is this just speculation? I have been looking for a good deal on a DK45 since I sold my Deere and have yet to see a low price. I have purchased 2 Deere at low cost. I see NH prices as good resale and have never found one that was a deal. Kubota is about the same althought there is so many smaller machines there are some deals.

the Kubota is a lot nicer,,(just my thought) and the BX 23 is NOT the BX2230,,bx 23 is TLB,,2230,is with out back hoe,and without a sub-frame

Sounds to me like a strong possiblity that you may have ingested air into your fuel system when you tipped the tractor over. It may have drawn air up into the injector pump.

Most likely you will have to bleed the fuel injector pump and injectors to purge the air from the lines. This can be done by loosening the fitting nut at each injector just enough to let fuel and air purge from the line while you crank the engine. The pump can be purged by loosening a bleed screw or fitting at the pump until continuous fuel with NO air comes out.

If the engine will catch but die out; you may get lucky and try placing the throttle at full throttle and cranking the engine. If it catches, let it try to run. It will spit, sputter, and protest but if you are lucky enough fuel may be in the lines to keep the engine running to push the air on through the lines and the engine will smooth out and run normal.

Be sure to check the oil level if you haven't already to ensure no oil leaked out.

I wiped out a 300 hornet nest like this.
Found their entry hole, made sure there was only one.
Waited till a couple of hours after dark when they were all home asleep.
Used about 2 cups of a volatile liquid that would evaporate easily to suffocate them.-I used laquer thinner. No residue to remove.
Quickly poured the liquid into the tunnel with a funnel.
Dumped a shovel full of dirt on the hole.
Went to bed.
Dug out the nest the next day-all dead- no further hornets at that location.

My buddy at work has a son in Baton Rouge. His son had to go home early from work today to protect his family because there are people coming in from New Orleans with guns and taking over vacant/unfinished houses. Unbelieveable!

I ditched the top hook. It came with a U-shaped bracket with a flange on it. It has two hole positions, one I use for everything except the tiller, and box scraper, the other works for those two. It takes me about 5 minutes to hook up any of my attachments that use the PTO, a minute for the rest.

I agree that the 13" is a good compromise size. For me it's just a bit big when digging stumps but it was a little small when excavating for a retaining wall.

Roger, rather that raking the grass up; I run over it several times with the shoot guard up to spread the grass out as much as possible. After about four of five runs over the grass clippings, they get cut up into very small pieces and get spread out over a large area. I let the sun dry them out and run over them a few more times and the clippings are pretty much absorbed into the turf. The more you can spread the clippings out with the mower the better. I have a rock rake and in my opinion, you would be more prone to causing damage to the lawn. A rock rake is pretty rigid and I don't think it would be particularly effective as raking in this manor.
