We use the bolt-on replacements for either a pickup truck snowplow or a small road grader depending on what size machine it's for.

They are much cheaper and very readily available. Check with any place that sells snowplows, or the dealer listings on the manufacturers websites. For the larger ones just ask at your local municipal works yard where they buy them from. They may even have one that is too worn down for their machine they will give you for free, it will still last you a lifetime.

I ended up with the 48 hoe for my 4310. I have not used it a lot yet as my major projects are a month or so out. I am wondering if If the hoe is underpowered. I have read others say they use the hoe to move the tractor forward rather than get off and drive it forward. I don't plan on using this method, but my 48 is not able to lift the back of the tractor in this manner. Is it normal that it can't?

with two weekends of rain I cut grass that was over 16 inch, now I have a large amounts of clups of cut grass and long stans of it I cut in three long runs by running over it and making piles. Would a rock rake work to bring it one large pile. <br>

I need your opinion on whether or not to purchase a jx75, which to me seems, mostly from its weight, to be ready for farm work. I own 60 acres. I want to do some tillage work, as well as cutting, bailing and sprigging hay, in addition to all the fencing work, and loader work around the farm. Is the jx75 a good tractor for the kind of work I'll be doing on it. Why or why not? <br>

I am looking at the LX132 and the LX232 loader, but I'm not sure what the difference is. I'm not impressed with the Case loader, the Kubota M68000 loader looks better on the specs. Any opinion on this?<br>

Frontier make VERY good equipment. That green paint in my opinion is a bit over priced as is the Land Pride tan paint but they are much better built implements.

ron, it seems to perform very well,doesnt freeze/rust the rims' reason why the dealer did it{18 mos left on a two year warranty and 80 miles away) my dealer is SN Valley Supply in Oneonta,NY.
I know for a fact that I have plenty of weight,when I finally lose traction I am filling ruts !!!!!!

It all has to do with the top hook spacing and mounting.

The one I have now doesn't extend the hook far enough toward the rear for my Woods blades. They bind on the shoulders of the hook's mounting towers (for lack of a more proper descriptive term).

The Land Pride has the hook "sticking out" farther than any other unit I've seen. This will eliminate the binding while removing the hook will allow attaching my rotary cutter.

To remedy this in the mean time, I welded the hook in place after extending it out (toward the rear) about an inch farther than the pins would allow. It now works great for the blades, cultivator and implements I made but the bush hog won�t fit with the hook in place. My only option is to modify the hogs 3pt or buy another quick hitch.

Otherwise, the Speeco has worked fine.

I think before I'll rebuild the engine at 28,000 I'll get rid of it and go back to good regular oil and 5000 mile changes if it's going to cause a problem. The car gets about 30 miles per trip to work and thirty back which is over hills but should be good for it. It is rough on the brakes but we are looking at replacing the car at about 35,000 which will be in time for it's next oil change if synthetics live up to there reputation. Other wise to me it is the dealers problem.

I have a 4520 with a 400X loader and a 448 Backhoe and it is awesome. FYI, the 4 wheel drive engager is mechanical not electrical. I am very please with this tractor and would recommend it to anyone. The E-hydro is very nice feature and easy to operate.

This is the computer age and these electonics are necessary to stay competative in this day and age.

36" is plenty for plastic. It's a good idea to place the culvert and fill in around to the top with 2" stone to hold it in place, and then back fill making sure no rocks larger than 2" come in contact with the culvert.

I can assure you that Rotella, Delo, and Delvac are all superior to standard S grade automotive oils. There are specialty oil manufacturers that will produce high quality blends in S and C grades. I don't know how branded Kubota, JD or NH oil compare in that regard. I am sure that they are good oils or the manufacturers would not support them. But the availability of the Rotella, Delo, and Delvac is better.

Don't confuse Shell Rotella T and Shell Rotella T Synthetic. That is like comparing conventional oil with Mobil 1 or Amsoil. Rotella T is a very good oil, and the Rotella T Synthetic is a great oil. As I said previously, I use it in everything I own. (not just diesels)

My New Holland skid steer uses motor oil for the hydraulic fluid. Fisrt the dealer told me I would contaminate the system if I used an a attachment (PHD) that had "regular" hydraulic fluid in it from the last user, but then backed away from the statement when I pressed him further about how much is "contamination level". Then he says, "Aaah, just go ahead and use it."

As far as your electric mixer, you can still use it in the field. What I did is buy a 5500/2500 watt 12vdc-to-120vac power invertor (or convertor???) (about $225 on e-bay). Tucks under the front seat of my pickup (or mount on your tractor). I can run a 6.5 peak-HP shop vac on a 100' extension cord, or 1/2" drill, or a 9" grinder, or a 65 lb. electric Bosch pavement/jackhammer breaker for hours (leaving the engine run to recharge truck batteries). These units are also found on motor homes and camper trailers. Best thing in the field since, well...sliced bread!

And it's handy for camping or even the power goes out.

Looks like you have already come up with a solution. In the future if something like this happens for yourself or other folks; Deere has what they call a Super Caddy which is a modile oil filtering system. It can remove water as well as other contaminants. I would think other brand dealers probably have a similar device to do this as well. We used a very similar device to filter the hyd. oil on our aircraft while I was on active duty. It filtered the oil down to 1 micron and removed water/moisture as well. Not all dealers have this device so you will have to call and ask if they can send a mechanic out with one to run on your machine. Anyhow, just thought I would throw this out there for future reference. This device can save some money especially on larger machines operating out in the field.

Recently purchased a pre '80 Kubota L175 and the steering went out. Damaged the steering box assembly in attempt to remove the pitman arm, right in the seal area. Looking for an entire steering box assembly at reasonable rate.

Yes I am planning on using GP to fill most of it with little to no cutting except in one spot. I then plan on buying top soil to fill to grade next to the down hill side of the walk. I do not want to put any turns in it as the turns would have to be negotiable by my B7610 with front blower and year grader blade, too big of circle and also too much of a traction issue if I make the turns tight.

Yooper, I think you are picturing this other than it is, there is no drainage issue my house is built with the long side parallel to the ridge line of the hill. My proposed walk will also be parallel to the ridge line taversing it from my garage, across the back of the house to the other end where I have a patio door. Below is a rear profile look at the back of my house.

I looked at many cut's before purchasing my TC30. It has done everything that I have needed out of it, and has had no problems. It is easy to work on, and the daily maintenance is a breeze. Another plus was the shift column is on the dash instead of being on the floor. I get on and off my tractor alot, and this makes it easier than having to step over shift handles everytime. However, with that being said, I would still visit and talk to all the dealers in your area. Service and a good relationship with your dealer is as much of a reason to buy a particular brand of tractor, as the tractor itself. A dealer that with work with you and will service your tractor as needed, can make all the difference in your experience of purchasing and maintaining your tractor. Also make sure that you test drive different brands. I must have tried 5 or 6 brands before purchasing mine. A good dealer understands that you will want to do this, and should encourage you to. Good luck and enjoy.

Unfortunately (for me), I have had some direct experience with the New Orleans Police. If they are running the looters off it is because they want to get in on the action.
