OK. Good question. Maybe I just assumed(Oh-Oh)that there isn't a whole lot more that you can extract from sugar beets that is safe for animal feed other than a compound that primarily comes down to saturated sugar.

I am willing to take correction on this issue, but not on the concept of saturated salt solutions.

I spent several years making my own dialysis concentrate. I made it in 200 gallon batches and hoisted hundreds of pounds of sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium and glucose over the lip of that dang tank only to wonder why the water level didn't change to any appreciable amount.

I'm sure you did your homework, but around here the state and some counties will not allow plastic culverts of any size. Cities/townships are not so picky. The ones I've installed for filling in a ditches have cost about $5/foot. Plastic can be as much as double and the spillways/aprons and other fittings are 2-3x the cost of steel. Doesn't answer your question directly but I have seen as much just afew inches of crushed stone on top. And I have never seen one collapse reagrdless of size or the weight on it.

I have to wonder what effect putting anything but the fuild intended in a hydraulic system has on the seals, o-rings, etc.

For example my New Holland CUT uses a thin, amber-colored oil for hydraulic fluid, my backhoe and Case trencher use automatic trans fluid, yet my New Holland skid steer uses motor oil for hydraulic fluid.

A truck-and-bus repair shop used the wrong brake fuild in my dump truck. $2,000 and an all-new brakes system later I can finally use it.

I like my TC33D with Super Steer. SS makes it very nimble around obstacles whether going forward or backward. With a 5' rotary cutter and cruise control on, I can cut the RH brake and do a turn on dime (will tear up a lawn doing it this way---but I do fields.)

John, won't get anything near 15gpm out of the remote on your machine.

Besides, if you set up a stand-alone system, 3pth mount it, and PTO drive it you won't have to worry about the fluids getting all mixed together. Your HST may not be happy after you connect it to anything full of regular fluid out of a SSL.

We have several of these things, basically it's just a reservoir tank, a pump and a valve or two. Either mount it on a small trailer, or carry it on the 3pth, whatever is your preference, although carried is easier to manuever with.

If it's all just for a couple of days a year to dig holes though you might just want to borrow, or rent, a skid steer. The whole system is likely going to get spendy.

Thats not the first time I heard that. Many dealers practice the if no metal no need to replace it rule. The real reason the manual calls for full replacement is to remove any metal that accumulates over the break in period, which of course does get caught by the screen, anything finer gets caught up in the filters. It is an acceptable practice in most maintenance shops. Another thing is, by the time any real wear occurs from lack of the first change, the tractor will be well out of warranty. For peace of mind, have it changed. I do my own maintenance, so I just do it by the book.

I know what your brother is saying. I replaced a set of concrete steps going through some gardens with a ramp made of pavers. (The concrete wasn't poured correctly and was breaking up.) In the winter the ramp is extremely dangerous when it gets a film of ice on it. I think you would have a less steep ramp, but have you considered putting in a set of auxillary steps in addition to the ramp? I did this once in a deck design when my mother-in-law was in a wheel chair. That way people have an option - the ramp or the steps.

In the case of, for example, Land Pride, Woods or Rhino and KK blades. It's not just that there is a lot more steel in the top-quality blades (in some cases double the steel), that extra metal means higher shipings costs, but they are put together better (read more time & labour), and don't forget all those glossy brochures at the dealers, plus the big full page ads they run in all sorts of magazines all over the place. Like the Woods ad at the top of this page.<br>

All of these costs are substantial, and are reflected in the pricing.<br>

As an example of just what advertising can do to the cost of a product, GM will spend US$2.75 BILLION dollars on advertising in 2005, and in 2005 it hopes to sell a few more cars than last year, which was about 600,000 vehicles. Do the math now, that means anybody who bought an average GM vehicle gave up about $458 dollars, just for the priviledge of seeing all those commercials and ads. This is with one of the biggest most efficient systems going. Imagine what the numbers are for something in as narrow a niche market as a blade for behind your CUT.<br>

If you paid the dealer for a complete overhaul and it's not working right you should take it back and make them diagnose it. Or they should pay another dealer to fix it.

I'm thinking of purchasing a TC30 during NH's 0% for 60 mos. promotion. I'm looking at the hydro 4 wheel drive model with the 7308 FEL, used finish mower and a new box blade. My questions are 1) Is electronic cruise available on the TC30 with Hydro? 2) Can the TC30 be upgraded with the Deluxe 3 point hitch? 3) Is the 7308 Loader really quick change? and 4) Can a TC29 deluxe seat be mated to a TC30? <br>
If yes to any what should the upgrade cost?<br>
Local dealer doesn't seem to know exactly)<br>

Here's the technique I use:

You need two people. One to operate the tractor, the second to hold the chain. Wrap the chain twice around the post and have the ground person hold the end. The other end of the chain is somehow hooked onto the loader. You raise the loader and the post pops right out. A quick flip of the chain and it's off. Two people used to working together can pull a post every couple of minutes.
