I have used in the absence of a tracor either a hi-lift "farm" or "off-roader's" mechanical jack (about $40 from Tractor Supply) to just lift them out. The jack is rated for 7000 lb. lifting or pulling --can be used like a come-along too.<br>

Another way is to use a relatively tall truck rim standing vertically up against the post in ine with the direction of pull. Attach a chain at the very base of the post and run it over the top of the rim and to the pulling machine (car, truck or tractor). The rim must be able to roll in line with the chain. Otherwise, it will fall over. As you pull backward the rim acts as a pulley pulling up the post. I have pulled shrubs and smaller tree stumps this way too. A simple but well-made A-frame made of 4x4's can replace the rim idea too. The taller the A-frame the more available leverage. The top of the A-frame has to withstand having the chain being supported at the top of the A. The bottom of the A-frame (the legs) should be at about a 45 degree angle to the post or ground to be most effective, with the top of it against the post---legs too far from the post and the legs may skid across the ground---too close to the post and you gain leverage but lose up-travel.

There is no advantage other than the price.

The 4110 has a better 3 point hitch, better tires, more FEL lift capacity and can take a backhoe.

Is it a leak leak? Or is is wet from normal wicking? Reason I ask is it is possible there is crankcase pressure forcing oil out?

I got this mower financed less than a year ago with my tractor purchase and now I'm finding out what I really needed was a rotary cutter instead. My salesman at first told me that Deere Credit wouldn't touch it as a trade. That sounded funny to me so I called deere credit myself. They said sure it's done all the time. So what's the problem with my dealer then??? I called him back up and told him what they had said and only then did he agree to have a look at my mower for the trade in value. He said $1000 would be all he could do on it. What do you guy's think?<br>

I'm going to replace a 12" plastic corrugated culvert under my driveway with a 15" double-walled one. The top of the old one is maybe 18" below the pit run drive. Although the old one stood up to fuel deliveries, farm equipment, and even an occasional concrete truck, the BIG trucks that deliver hen manure crushed it down some. <br>

I have re-graded the outflow area and can now put it down about 24" deeper ( 36" inches of cover ). Will this be OK?<br>

Is there a formula or rule of thumb to use? How does the plastic compare to corrugated steel? I've noticed most supply yards just carry the plastic culvert now.<br>

When greasing sometimes you may have to use a jack to remove pressure from the area. Lift the part that holds the component to releive the pressures.

I'm not sure what wood is in the soil, but I'm in the Seattle area, so it's likely doug fir, cedar, and/or hemlock. <br>

Update on my quest for good soil: I spoke with the topsoil company and expressed some concern about the amount of wood, claiming that about 30% of the mixture is wood. They said they would create me a special batch (I could even approve it before purchase) with as much or little wood as I like. And still for only $12.95/yd. I told the sales lady that I'll take another 20 yards (need to plan a 120' row of english boxwood tomorrow) with 'less wood' and see if they can bring something more to my liking. I PH tested the last batch (the one with all the wood) and got a reading somewhere between 6.0 and 6.5 (closer to 6.0). That seems within the range I need for a good lawn.<br>

They seem very accomodating. I think I'll order the big load from them if this batch turns out well.

Does anyone know what my choices are for mounting a backhoe and front loader to my B-2150? What model #'s and Mfg's will fit? Anybody have any advice?<br>

I pulled the heads on a gas engine with over 100k miles on it that has used synthetic it's entire service life. The engine was sparkling clean with zero wear on the cams. I mean zero. You could still see the machine marks. I was sold on the spot and use nothing but synthetics in any engine I care about.

David, will the pto stop if you pull all the way back on the lever? If so, then a linkage adjustment may be all you need. The tractor does indeed have a pto clutch. It also has a pto brake. The clutch could be warped or oil soaked or the brake could be worn out. The clutch repair would require splitting the tractor between the clutch housing and engine. The brake requires a split between the clutch housing and transmission. There could be a problem in the valve, but they are usually very reliable. If you remove the access plate on the bottom of the clutch housing, see if there is any oil in there and also you can see if the clutch bearing is moving all the way back when the pto is disengaged.

I am not sure where you live or what you are building, but
I have used 'roughcut' 1by10's and 12's, that were cut out
of balsam and spruce. My neighbor has an old type sawmill
and I help him cut the stuff. It makes a nice wall material
and roof material for garages. I have built two-24by40
sheds with it. I am lucky to have access to this and I
have been using 12 and 16 footers, so it lines up with the
studs and trusses. You may want to look for someone who
runs a small sawmill in your area. It might be worth the
try. It takes a little longer to put up, but it is
stronger, tighter, and warmer than any plywood or OSB.

Can someone explain how to safely remove the B1640 loader from the B6200D tractor? I do not have an owner/operators manual, but have obtained an assembly/parts printout. The printout shows 2ea "stand, upright". I only have 1. A decal on the loader has directions for removing and mentions "braces". What else am I missing? Where can I find an operators manual for this 20+ year old equipment?

I know, there should be. The Challenger line is the same as the Massey line/Agco line since all three are made by Iseki. I just got a MT265b a couple of week ago, which is the same as the 1533 in Massey. Excellent HEAVY tractors, I am havin' a blast with mine! The thing that really made me choose the MT265b was that the CAT dealer that I bought from is right down the road from me, and there are 5 other CAT locations within 100 miles or less. The dealer really went out of his way to make the deal, and we got to be friends in the process. I needed to lift 1000+ lbs with forks on the loader, and some of the competitors just couldn't do it. I got the Quick Attach on mine with the Skidsteer Bucket...Cool!

I have a Land Pride landscape rake. It's ok, but I haven't used it since I got a power box rake. A box scraper works well for final grades too---dozers do the rough and anything from 30hp and up CUTs and full-size loader/landscapers like a Case do the rest. I have a New Holland TC33D and it is perfect for doing final grades and prep for sod. Sometimes I get calls for doing onnly final-grade prep for sod and make $300 in about an hour just loosening up the soil so it can be raked by hand by the homeowner.

If you don't have a skid steer get a loader on your CUT though, makes the job much easier. As far as name-brand implements, since I use mine on a regular commercial basis I use the relatively inexpensive brands like KK rotary cutters, and box scrapers because even a bunch of 4x4's tied together (ha ha) will drag dirt so why spend good money on something that is going to do the same job but cost more? As far as the prime-mover like a tractor or skid steer, don't skimp here. Reliability and durability are key. And if you don't have a good dump truck and trailer get yourself a good 10-yard dump trailer to tote the equipment around with a 3/4 ton diesel (minimum)--don't even mess with gas trucks.

1% should be fine for a 140' of 15" cmp. I wouldnt go any less.

140 x .01 = 1.4' (say 18")
