taheide brings up a good point, the newer NA vehicles all seem to either run what is called a one and a half or double DIN radio, the old regular size radio is called a single DIN size.

They sell both oversized radios, and also adapters, one of several of fleet's trucks have upgraded stereos installed in them, the adapter takes up the additional size by adding a little cubby hole beneath the radio to fill the dash opening. One of them has a double sized radio in it with a huge screen that includes a GPS navigation system.

My dealer tells my the move to non-standard sizes was an attempt by the manufacturers to capture more consumer money. By making non-standard openings in the dashboard, or remote radio installations, the consumer was more likely to spend the money for a FACTORY upgraded stereo than an aftermarket one.

Also not all Mobil 1's have a diesel rating either. The 0w30 just happened to have a matching rating on it.

I have a 6' KK Finish mower on my B2410 Bota. It does an excellent job cutting my fields and lawn. I have a LOT of trees aound the house, and it took me a while to learn how to navigate the mower off the back of the tractor, and hit the trees quite a few times and the deck has held up well. The only complaint I have about KK, is the paint job sucks. If my grass exceeds a foot in height, it usually takes two passes to cut, the first pass with the deck raised to where the wheels barely touch the ground, and the second with the deck fully down. It is a side discharge, and I removed the chute on it because it does get clogged easily. Another factor is when the grass is heavy or damp, I will get a line of taller grass where two blades meet close to the discharge side. It is belt driven and you do need to adjust the tension everyso often or the belt slips and burns up. Happened to me once. A new 6' KK goes for about the same price as the used NH, and they make a rear discharge for a little more. So far the deck is still looking good after 3 years of hard use other than where the paint flaked off. I havent done any sharpening to the blades yet, but they are easy to get off to sharpen.

I will look up the filter number and get back to you on this thread. Mobil 1 is good oil in gasoline engines. I have just found that the Rotella T Synthetic is better and I can use it in my diesels, gasoline vehicles, race car and even my motorcycles.

Motorcycles are probably the worst, because they run the engine oil in the transmission as well. Mobil 1 does not hold up in this service and Rotella T does. Since it works better there, and is no more expensive, I use it in everything. I have never had an oil related engine failure.

Delvac oil is also good.

I want to thank everyone for the great advice. I will give it a try and let you know what happens. One of the other problems the water caused is the clutch no longer works. I am hoping once I get a good flush done that this problem also fixes itself. Again, thanks for the info and the prompt responses.

Just found out from my mechanic the cylinder head on my circa 1980 JD 950 is cracked. JDParts wants 850.00 for a new one. Anyone know where I can get a used/remanufactured one for less? Preferably with a warranty.

Brokenarrow, thanks for the thoughts. I was down close to your area a couple of times looking for some acreage to buy. There was a nice 40 east of Winter but that's getting a little too far away from Hayward for me. One other piece was only 10 miles or so from Ladysmith. Land is getting pricey up north too.

The CK 30 is a nice machine and owners seem real happy with them that I have read about.
I have been reading about a lot of problems with the Kioti backhoes however (on a differant site). If you would go with Kioti I recommend using a differant backhoe like Rhino, Woods, Etc.

Just sat on the new 2305. Lots of legroom, looks a lot more modern than the outgoing 2210. Base price is cheaper than 2210, but no incentives or discounts right now. I was very impressed. Will do a demo later, and will probably buy with 62 MMM and 200cx fel.

I have a 2000 BX1800 Diesel for sale.It has a 60" mower deck and a 5 foot hydraulic blade.It has l98 hours on it and is like brand new.Two months ago,I put on a Kubota Factory Canopy($550). How old is your Lab. My Chocolate Lab is about 103 also, he is 12 and is getting stiff in the joints and the last couple of days has lost his appetite a bit. My yellow Lab died at 12, and her descent was precipitous as well.

Dave, I understand what you are saying, but I think you are missing a few critical details.

Using my truck as an example, becuase it's here and I know it well, I have about 38" from the centerline (C/L) of the rear axle to the C/L of the hitch, but the wheelbase is 172" so the hitch to axle length is about 1/5th (for arguements sake only) of the wheelbase, the length of the pivot. So to move the hitch 1", the front of the truck has to pivot 5" in the opposite direction.

If we take a forward speed of 50mph, if the front of my truck moved 1" suddenly, the hitch would move far less than 1/5" (becuase it's moving so it sort of slides over, it doesn't pivot like it was sitting on a turntable.

That movement gets even further diminished by the distance from the hitch of the trailer to the C/L of the trailers suspension, it's pivot point.

This doesn't make any unstability show up, the undulation caused by over-correction does that. A little touch of the trailer brakes soon ends that though.

I still agree that a 5th wheel is better overall, but it's also got it's drawbacks, some are big ones.

The hitch position ahead of the axle also helps by adding weight to the front axle instead of lightening it like a tag along does.
