For safety reasons tractors with back hoes require a taller ROPS than tractors without back hoes.
There have been reports of people being crushed to death between the back hoe and the to short rops.

The Kubota BX23 and the Massey Ferguson GS2310 are the only Sub Compacts specifically designed by the manufacturer for a BH. Part of this design feature is the taller ROPS for the BH.
Since the other Sub Compacts weren't designed for a BH the Manufactures do not offer a taller rops.
Just because a BH manufacture designs a BH for a given tractor it doesn't necessarily follow that the tractor is designed for the BH.
Just like Kubotas BX23 and MFs 2310 Simplicity Designed the Legacy XL garden tractor to accommodate a BH as well as designing a BH for the Legacy.
However unlike Kubota and MF who require you to purchase the BH when you buy the tractor Simplicity allows you to purchase the tractor only and buy the BH later if desired. Thus making The LEGACY XL the only Small tractor that you can add an OEM BH to after buying the tractor.

Both the tall and the short ROPS are available on the compact tractors.
However the same safety hazard is encountered when people buy a Compact tractor with a short ropes then later add a back hoe be it an OEM back hoe or an After Market back hoe but fail to replace the short rops with the taller one.

This isn't an issue of OEM BH vs After Market BH.
It a matter of miss matching Back Hoes and ROPS.

The LS185B enclosed cab etc. is coming! The CEO approved it just this week. This will be budgeted for though. I will not need it for a few years, it will come just in a cash payment and at the right time. I am ok with waiting since I have the tractor but when we move this is a requirement as far as I am concerned.

I can understand the thinking that a qoute will be used to lower some one elses price. That I am sure happens more times than not. Here is my way of thinking though. If I am a dealer and know I can offer one of the lowest prices around, I will offer it to a guy that is out of town but not out so far that he is dogging me. What can it cost (in time) A salesman to type a 3 sentence email? If it happens to be a guy like me, he will make the sale if he is the lowest. After a day of thinking< Hmmm Screw my local guy!!! He is sooo far out on left field (with his $5300 price I feel he was hoping I jusy shut up and paid it! IMO He has TOOK many many folk not so savy as I. In by book, thats stealing from a local! He knows he can come down but still plays me for a fool. We are talking 700 difference! I could see a few hundred but this dealer is the largest AND only one in town (a town of almost 100K)
I go back on my word but very very seldom. I told the emails, the lowest price gets my buisness and so I will honor that.

Joe sorry I missed this but it could beone of the lines might not have been tightened enough or it might be a o-ring in the valve body. If it is the line then tighten it other wise I'd call the dealer and let the warrantee do it's thing.

I did get to see the MF at Empire farm days and it didn't look bad. I do prefer the loader pins being end drilled for lubrication as well as protectors on the rims when the industrial tires are used and there were several other little advantages for the orange.

THIS QUESTION IS FOR THE NH TECHS OUT THERE. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW TC45 WITH A WOODS 9000 BACKHOE. OTHER THAN THE DEALER SWINGING MY GRADER BLADE INTO THE HOOD WHEN HE DELIVERED IT, THINGS ARE GREAT. I HAVE A NOISE COMING FROM THE HYDRO LINES THAT KINDA SOUNDS LIKE AIR IN THE LINES? ITS SORT OF LIKE A RATTLING AND YOU CAN FEEL IT OFF AND ON WHEN YOUR HAND IS ON THE HARD HYDRO PIPING. IT GET LOUDER AND MORE FREQUENT WHEN YOU TURN UP THE RPMS. I CURRENTLY HAVE ONLY A DOZEN HOURS ON IT. THIS IS NOT THE TYPICAL WHINE YOU HEAR WHEN MOVING. IT DOES IT AT IDLE OR WHEN MOVING. ANY IDEAS???

A nice, heavy box blade seems a good choice versus the weight box. The blade will hang out farther past the back of the machine giving you more leevrage where you need it. Plus most likely you'll be spreading whatever you're loading too.

I have a 2-month old JD L130 purchased from HD that also smokes. Called our regional JD dealership, was told that smoking upon start-up and for the first minute or two is normal as the design of the Kohler allows for oil from the breathers (I may have my terminology mixed up) to drip into the intake. He said there haven't been any issues with the 23 horse Kohler for the last 8 years or so. Before that they had an issue where the head bolts bottomed out in their respective holes before the head gasket was adequately compressed. This has been fixed (by using shorter head bolts). I was told to monitor oil consumption, but not to worry unless it exceeded 1/3 quart every 6 hours.

Under the left step is the solenoid. Make sure the wires did not come loose. There are two black ones. If one or both come out of the plugs the light will change but the tractor will stay in low.

Let me clairify my statement Kubota is one that overall has been proven to have the best record and then the rest are created equal. I say that using the facts of day to day knowledge of a multi line store and I guess I could say would cover five brands. You and your dealer need to be in sync as to your needs to better take care of any of your potential problems. That should be your expectations as well as potential uses including time.

I have had four small diesels in the 20-22-24 HP range. They all burned about 1/2 gallon per hour.

My RTV was rated at 21.6 HP and on longer trips running pretty much flat out all the time it burned about .60 gallons an hour.
