I am about to sell my E394. It had a "noise" or "popping" sound over the left axle. Took it to mechanic and he took out both axles and could find nothing. Put it back together and still popping. His assistant said I see it. Loose lug bolts! These tractors are tough--parts inside looked shiney and new! I would, however like to know the Massey equal to this tractor--might help a potential buyer.<br>

The BX has the hp but if you can't get the traction you just sit there and spin as I did frequently with BX

That's funny traction has never been A problem with my BX23.
If you get into the rite conditions you can get anything hung up

Why worry about needing a larger tractor for the bigger jobs.
That's why have you have a BX23 to do the smaller jobs the larger tractors can't get to or their owner/operaters don't want to mess with.
I figure I could keep the BX23 busy with the jobs it can handle and pick and choose the jobs I want.
Why worry about the jobs it can't handle when you are having to turn down work it can do?

I dion't know what they are call, but this unit attaches to your three point hitch to make, I suppose, attaching to implements easier. Do they work? The two reasons I am considering it is:<br>
1. On my L2850 the box blade is to close to my tires and this would extend the box out a litlle.<br>
2. It appears this item would make it easier to attach the implements rather than horse them around. <br>

The ones of the the class I (tc18,21,24) have different mounting ears on the deck it self they are closer to the center side to side and front to back. I have said before that any thing can be done with the right tools and money, this conversion would just be impractical.

Just picked up a used one and the guy couldn't find the manual. He did have the sales slip, was purchased new in '98. Looks to have very little use. Would like to hear from anyone familiar with this brand, (who built them, where, why can't I find them on the web)?? This seems to have a sealed gear-box (true)?<br>

I had finally got a chance to test drive the MF. I was impressed with the cab likewise, it did have a little extra headroom and the overall quality was very nice. The tractor was smooth shifted good. It was a shuttle shift 8x8 4x4 with factory cab.

After having driven both the Kubota and the MF I will buy the Kubota for the main reason of the HST transmision and the extra weight of the tractor. The overall quality I think goes to kubota. At least in the smaller tractors.

I have been too busy to get on this sight for quite a while. One can be installed on a YM1700. No one has ever asked my about a YM1600. I think it probably can be installed. I can supply the parts to do it.

Did you check to see if the screen was clean? I can supply the closest manuals & a hydraulic pump , if it needs one.

They should send you new u-joints under warranty, and a new roller if the square male end rounded off. Even if you have to buy them parts for these are cheap. When you get them tap the holes in the U-joints where they mate with the male ends, and install some set screws. The holes are already drilled. Without set screws the U-joints can slide back on the male end . cock sideways and get rounded off. Not the best design but workable. That is the weak point.

Nope, the feed roller is easily fixed, although it isn't as powerful as hydraulic ones. I had too much big stuff to chip and the 6" Jinma just wasn't big enough. I am running 40 foot trees through it and don't want to limb first.

That was his email. Now which dealer do you think I will visit? The one in my town that qouted me $5300? The one that said come in with a legit price and we will beat it? Or the one that put it on the line and actually told me the price?
Here is my question now. Do I copy this email and go to my local dealer and ask for them to match it? Or do I say piss on them and take a road trip (only 45 miles) and buy from a dealer that does not mark things up to stick it to the locals?
One last question. In his e-mail he says, "Cedar Creek will sell them cheaper than any other
dealer so get in here and lets make a deal" Do you think I can ask for a winch with it at that price or maybe a few more bucks off ????
Man I am glad I shopped online, Even at that price (if I paid him what he asks, I would be saving $601!!!! Thats alot of money! That also tells me what a mark up is on these rigs especially since the dealer in my town is very large and the only dealer in a town of almost 100K people!

I think I better get in ther and buy this wheeler?

My 7275 would not start and after some investigation I found fuel getting to pump but not to cylinders. I took to Cub dealer and after 3 days I called to check and they said fuel shut off rail was not working and pump need to be repaired. They would send out and made it sound like no big deal. 1 week later they called and the bill was $ 1,200.00. I about fell over. Breakdown was $410.00 to rebuild injection pump, $ 390.00 for rebuilding of injectors(130.00each) and the blance their labor to remove and reinstall said items. They won't give me detailed bill on injectors or pump rebuild and said the place that did rebuild charged those amounts. Frankly I want to know what actually was replaced and what was labor on a $800.00 bill. I questioned why injectors were sent out anyway as they never said anything about that in our conversation. They said they also send those out whenever problem with injector pump. I never have had any problems with tractor. I bought used with 800 hours and I have about 1100 on it now. Bottom line is I think I am getting screwed big time but want to double check before I start writing letters. Any thoughts would be appreciated. PJ

Standard white spoke trailer rims will fit the BX.

You will lose a lot of width across the back unless you get some wheel spacers to set the rims back out.

There are other problems, like getting things to match up with the front axle in 4wd. R1 tires take their diameter measurements from the tire carcass, rather than the outside of the tread. The theory being that they are designed to sink the lugs into the dirt and "roll" on the tire carcass.

If not also matched with front R1's with similar lugged fronts you will have a highly variable ratio between the two.

The UNFORTUNATELY part of your response makes me think differently but I hope it was a good move for you. I've long thought that work should be FUN no matter what you do. If the money comes close to what you need to live on and you enjoy what you do that means an awful lot. When the money is more than sufficient to live on and you like what you do than you're a lucky guy. Best wishes in the new career. Steve

Fair enough. See these machines sometimes used by VA DOT crews in the medians and rights-of ways and pushing brushes at industrial sites. Nevertheless, getting parts and accurate advice can be tricky. Am looking for a forum for similarly-blessed 70's era Ford owners. I am not much of a mechanic. -Thanks

Thanks again for all the help, but not out of the woods yet... I replaced the exhaust system which provided a significant boost in power... Also found an air leak on the suction side of the hydro pump, in the short hose that "T's" to the cooler... We fixed that but still have an occasional problem when the HST stalls out, again I presume it is an air leak, just not sure where... Does anyone know it the cooler itself could have a pinhole leak? There is no fluid leak under gravity... I also seem to have more trouble in reverse, less power, than I used to.. Any Ideas on this one??
