It sounds like you are running on only one cylinder. While the engine is running, check the temperature of the exhaust manifold. If one side is alot cooler than the other, that is the cylinder at fault. You probably have low compression from either a burnt valve, bent pushrod, or a hole in a piston. Has it always done this? Does it sound any different than it used to? These two cylinder engines are difficult to detect a misfire by sound. A large decrease in power is the best way to determine a misfire. These are great old tractors. Do you have electric start or a pony motor?

They don't book nearly that high but the hours are very low. The condition would be the next consideration and the books don't tell help you find equipment at the prices they quote. Every area is unique for resale value and every used piece is different.

We used to grab some blankets, hike up the top of the nearest hill and sleep under the apple trees looking up at the stars - and the lights across new york and into connecticut. Or we would play basketball in the barn late into the night while snow was coming through the barn door. We chose from several ponds during the winter for a bonfire (started with an old tire) and ice skated into the night. Swimming meant diving into the pond of choice and swimming to the deepest part to grab a handful of mud to prove you made it. I wish my kids could have had these experiences.

I wouldn't call it antique or even a classic for what ever that might be in tractor land. I believe the average tractor age that is working in this country is 17 or 18 years old.

Not sure if this is worth the drive but these guys have the best prices I have seen on Honda and Yamaha's. Might give you an alternative to consider.

WELCOME! If you can afford a 2K bush hog, Why not buy that New Holland AND then go get you a $700 King kutter rotary cutter. Thats still less than 1 bush hog. Now you have your cake and can eat too (and still save bucks!)

Much to my suprise, Mcmaster-carr does not list left hand metric bolts. But they do have left hand metric threaded rod, (plain steel-low grade) and nuts (stainless and high grade)

If I recall, you received a similar call the afternoon we met. I can't even hide on my boat, the darn thing is always there. But then...the battery dies, darn the rotten luck!

Isn't that Pro-shop something? I stopped there after a safety presentation I attended in Auburn. Talk about a fun place to work in retirement.

I wish I had thought of taking the cover off before sqiurting so much grease; I'll go back out to the new house after the kids go to bed and see if that is where the grease ended up.

Right now at 3:41pm in central Kentucky the temp is 95, 30% humidity, with a 1 mph wind. We are in a moderate drought and little to no rain forecast for the next week.

flash point is much higher, close to impossible to
accidentally get lit. but well within diesel range.

two items, neither really bad.
1. it will clean your fuel system, look to replace your fuel filter early.
2. very old style fuel lines may leak, just go to any auto supply shop and get a few feet and replace them.
