Should'a bought the Explorer. My daughter has had her 2004 for about 15 months. Today it is in for a rear end leak. Atleast it's covered by warranty. Everything has problems some time or another.

Has anyone ever ran one of the King Kutter Bruch Cutters with their BX? (XB Series) The new property has some tall field grass to chop down and I don't want to do it with the finish mower. For that situation, is my 2230 strong enough to handle field grass and very small saplings (way less than 1")? <br>

Does any one have an opinion on these units? My KK box blade is a simple chunk of steel and works fine at that, but a brush cutter is a bit more involved. Should it have a slip clutch or is a sheer pin good enough?<br>

NOTICED SUNDAY AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR USING THE BACKHOE THAT THE VALVE BODY HAS A SIGNIFICANT LEAK FROM UNDER THE JOYSTICKS. LOOKS LIKE IT IS DRIPPING DOWN UP BEHIND THE WHERE THE HYDRAULIC LINES ALL ATTACH. ANYONE RAN INTO THIS? I HAVEN'T DIS-ASSEMBLED TO INSPECT YET, ALSO SOUNDS LIKE HYDRAULICS ARE HISSING ABNORMALLY?<br>

A word of advise to all tractor owners that like to drive their tractors. NEVER< NEVER< NEVER let your wife drive it!!! You will become the secondary driver in very short order!!! My wife was intimidated by my BX2200 60"mmm and fel which I traded for a B7800 with fel, boxblade, landscape rake, front forks and 6'rfm and bought her a BX1500 to help me with mowing. One day she tried the B7800 and there has been trouble ever since trying to get her off of it. Don't think she has been on the BX1500 since but I have several times mowing.

Since I am a morning person I use my tractors (B7800 & BX1500) during sun shining hours, not late afternoons. Gets hot with sun burning down. Decided I needed shade for under $300. Tractor supply has umbrellas for $130.00 but didn't have one in stock. Found one at agparts.com for $71.99 plus shp. Thick canvas, sturdy metal plates and frame. Recommend to anyone wanting shade. My problem was ROP heigth on B7800. Door is 8'. Mounted frame for shade on underside of ROPS then bent the 2 front rods up. Looks a little odd but my neighbor saw it and now wants one. Comes in different colors. Guess I'll order another one for the BX.

Went up yesterday. It seemed like old home week... Kept bumping into old friends hadn't seen for a while. Of course gotta shoot the bull each time. But that is what a lot of the event is about. Never did get to touch everything.

I'm in the same boat: 33, no kids and (so far) no regrets for not having any.

And I do get annoyed when friends with kids don't have the money to do the littlest things because they had kids without planning or financial security. One friend has 2 kids and a truckload of pets and is about to lose her mobile home after she stopped paying the bankruptcy payments; she could work and she just chooses not to!?

I would pay $3k for a pet's vet bills. This year I spent about $1,300 to get my cat's bad thryriod irradiated. If you have pets and they need treatment, there is no choice. You can't just dispose of them every time one falls sick.

I do love not being child-poor. Own 2 horses and I train with a riding instructor 3x a week. There's so much I can do for myself, my family, and my community without the burden of children.

Plus it's not like there isn't a surplus of children in the US anyway.

I dont ride a whole lot. Mainly use my Honda Recon for, well for recon missions. LOL. Me bad but I ride the kid on the back of my little 250 sometimes even my brother in law. Of course we are just going to and from places out back. Mainly for working on the woods and plots. Yes we even ride two up to get out of the woods some times. If the kid calls me on the radio and tells me he is coming in, I will sometimes go out and pick him up. One reason I dont ride more is that we only have 1. Its not a whole lot of fun riding by yourself, although I can walk thru the woods and use my buddy's any time I want, I dont do that often (kinda feel funny even though he is one of my best friends. To be honest with you, I love the ride of his 500 sportsman, but it is a TANK!!! I feel like I am fighting it the whole time I am on it. Steers real tough and turns for crap! Of course I am comparing it to my little recon which I can turn on a dime and whip the back aen around (and control it) at a seconds notice. Since I weigh almost as much as the machine (not really ) I still tell it what IT will do and not the other way around. When going thru the woods I can go around many small saplings that my buddy needs to go OVER. I can goose it and spring around things while he fights his in tight places. Plain and simple! I DONT get stuck with it! It is so light it rides over most watery mud bogs. REALLY! Nail the throttle and it seems to just ride the wake thru! The down side to it is low ground clearance and when there is anything like 7 inches or more of crusted snow I am STUCK where my buddy can ride thru 15" of it!. Thats where a bit more clearance and 4X4 comes into play.
Bottom line is that it gets done what I need it to and it is fun. For 3K you cant beat it! I hear what you are saying about the 3 wheeler, you will do what you need to do with it (easy transportation) and not have a fortune in it.
When I buy a machine I buy it for what I need! Not what others think about me. Many folks make bad decisions and spend more than they really can afford just to keep up with the joneses! Sure I can spend a grand more and get a larger machine, but a grand is a hell of alot of cash for more than I will ever need. A grand less and I can still get a decnt rig but it is NOT what I really want!
I think I will buy one soon. I should wait for late fall and save about 3-4 hundred but then I MISS the best time of the year to use it FALL. For 4 hundred I may just buy the darn thing this coming month. If I can find one for 5K I will pop on it right away.

There was a significant loss of power due to the exhaust which in turn caused the hydro to not function correctly... With the full power now the hydro works just fine when I am using the loader but for some reason does not when I raise the tiller... I had a similar problem earlier when "grandpaws little helper" put sand in the fuel tank and the fuel filter became clogged up, ran just fine but no power...<br>

I have a BX and I have a 3/4 chevy and a 1/2 ton chevy. If you are using the loader- yes you can load it but you won't heap it because it doesn't go high enough. I load it and then squash it down and load more and squash it down. It's a pain in the tail but it works. when I want to put a real load in I use regular old car ramps and it gives me the extra height and reach (because I can have the loader arms lower and longer out).

You still haven't asked the question if it's with the backhoe or the loader???

The pea gravel deal isn't specific as if it were a backhoe or loader either.

I am looking at a '99 7305 with 441 hours to possibly purchase. It appears to be in good working condition. It has a 60" deck as the only option. I have been a "green" guy so I have no knowledge of Cadet. If anyone could comment on durability, reliability etc. of this particular unit or performance that can be expected It would be greatly appreciated. I plan on using it to power a rear mounted snowblower and some occasional brush cutting.

Any experience with a 7305

Unless I am using the pto or just need a quick boost in power or speed; I run my 4410 between 1,800 to 2,000 rpm which is near its torque peak.

I have a Shibaura SD2243 now having a lift problem. It will lift when cold and not at all thereafter. I drained and replaced the hyd oil and still the same. It's been a champ for a long time-5+ years. Does anyone have a manual on this tractor or it's equivalent? Does anyone know it's New Holland equivalent that may help me know what the knobs and switches do?

This is what I was hoping to hear -- let the clippings dry out. In terms of just letting the horses eat, I think the pasture might be too big for three horses. Also, I noticed that there are weeds starting to grow and spread; my hope is that mowing regularly will help keep the pasture lush.

If it makes a difference, the pasture the horses are in is a former hay field; up until last year a local farmer cut and baled at least twice a season.

I have a 99 F350 Dually PSD Crewcab with a 5" exhaust and Diablo programmer. Talk about some power!!! Mileage of course has gone up provided I can keep my foot out of it. I get a pretty consistant 15+ MPG as a daily driver, I havent done any long highway driving since I added the programmer, but stock programming with the exhaust is 18+ though the mountains of west virginia and those areas. Diesels are very easy to get more power and economy out of them, but not the gassers. the most you can get out of a gasser without huge expenses and reworking is about 20HP. The cheapest improvement of course is intake and exhaust, but the K&N kit is not the way to do it. For example, take a grand marquis or crown vic. Put on a dual exhaust, free flow mufflers and an airbox and MAF from a Marauder and programming and you will get a huge improvement in performance, and economy wont be hurt unless you keep your foot in it.

As far as what huffman stated, on any engine, ingestion of dirt is NOT good no matter how fine. On a diesel with a turbo, the term dusted comes up a lot, that is when a turbo fails due to the ingestion of dirt, and usually from either a leaking airbox, or a poor filter. The way to tell is to remove the filter and run your fingers around the intake behind the filter. If you get any dirt on your finger, your filter is not working and your engine is ingesting dirt which is not good at all, no matter how fine it is, in fact the finer the dirt, the more damage it can do since it can be suspended in the oil, get past the filter and wind up between bearing surfaces. Oil Filters only filter up to a certain point, and unless you have a bypass filter system install, fine dirt that can get past a K&N, and there will be dirt getting past it until it gets dirty enough, will get into your oil and past your oil filter. K&N Filters are great for racing applications where the engines are torn down regularly and excel in those fields, but for the normal person in daily driving, until that filter gets dirty, it can cause a potential engine problem. Those FIPK are mainly for show, they wont give you anything more than a stock system will. start with the exhaust first, and I dont mean put on a fart can. A good system is either cat back or headers back.
