The original loaders for those tractors was NOT a quick dismount. Your aftermarket loaders were a good value at that time compared to the factory original matches. You do have a niced size tractor and the price was good to. I'd check around as you could possibly find a good fab shop that could modify the 300 loader and fabricate it to fit your frame. That model loader was made for a smaller tractor and depending on your load requirements might get you by and have the advantage of it's lighter weight to overcome the lack of power steering. The width of the bucket should be wider then the tread width so there is another fault! Oh well I wish you luck!

I am looking for a machine to chop up and spread bails of hay much like a big wood chipper. I have seen some being used and they were small enough to tow behind a 4 wheeler or tractor. The hay was carried on another trailer. It would make it easier to spread hay on woods roads or multi use trails.

AV8R, did you ever pop on a sportsman? I have always been a Honda Lover but as time changes (and my body) I have decided to go with a ind. suspension machine. I do NOT want anything larger than a 400. I like money more than anything else and the 400 will do everything I want it to so there is no need to spend more than I have to. I priced the 400 sportsman at only one dealer so far. His price was $5300! (for a new 2005)I think that can be beat for I think its still a bit too steep? What do you all think? What have any of you paid for one and when would you think the best time to buy a year old model (month) would be?<br>

WHO'S THE MAN????? HA HA! Go Broken, Go Broken!! I walked out of my patio door Sunday Morning and the birds stopped chirpping, the mosquito's flew south and I swore a saw a little white flag flappin in the breeze shoved up a hornets ass as he flew away from me! I gave them a chance to pack up and move but they thought they were larger than life! <br>
Thanks for all the great idea's, in the end it was a gallon of diesel fuel, and a match. My new neighbor was throwing a party (or something like that) and in the dead of night when the flame rose to the sky I heard about 4 people cheer and clap from her house. They were as amused as my kids were. Needless to say that there was only a few stragglers (that were lucky enough to NOT be home) when the fire-bomber hit They since have dissapeared also!<br>
Oh by the way, my next pest to tackle is the gophers and chipmunks. Anyone have a large vacume?

Not sure what/why I'm asking if the BX23 will load my pickup? Sorry, that's about as simple as I can put it.

I have many applications for the BX23, it's just *that* one(loading my pickup)is absolutley necessary.

One of the reasons I like the BX23 is that it'll leave me more room in my garage, and I don't need anything bigger.

check out agridrain, they have some really cool stuff for ponds. I got my rodent guards from them and tile tape. http://www.agridrain.com/ With the adjustable max height, at times when a really heavy rain is predicted, I drop the level 6 inches to give me a buffer from overflow. I have about a 40 acre watershed that drains to the pond and there was no way around it.

Since I bought my RTV in April of 2004,it has performed without fatigue on my ranch. The windshield is still solid, the engine powerful, and lift bed never gives up. The tires have been a small problem, and replacements were only found through Kubota at $78. While I would buy another, this one will last for many years to come.

Doc, sorry but I did goof up. I sell several brands of tractors and before I'd run into problems with any parts on a Kubota I'd listened to people for years that owned JD,IH,Ford,Allis vertually every make of tractors made! There is no saint hood here boys! Have I heard of discontinued parts in the Kubota line, yes and I haven't found any that were any different from the US lines! Now I will tell you from experience that if you really want to have fun try locating parts from a manufacturer that doesn't represent that brand any more! Yes we do still get normal parts that are for tractors over twenty years from Kubota. When the sales of the parts go away, so does the inventory, thats the way it is! Try walking into your car dealer and asking for a part for a 15 year old car!

As with most things, it is technique more than what you are actually doing that makes the biggest difference.

Try two things next time you use the trimmer. First keep you and the cutter positioned such that everything being cut is being fired away from you. Secondly, again, keep your position in mind, and UPWIND of the work area.

String trimmers do not CUT the stuff, they shred small small sections of it. They actually throw a pretty good cloud of debris, and even if you don't typically have allergies you would likely have a reaction to such an overwhelming dose of airborne plant material.

Murf, I hear ya! My brother was pretty unhappy when I beat him in a drag race using my F-250 SD diesel. When we got doen, the first thing I asked was if he lost because of spinning the tires due to wet pavement. I said I had to back-pedal the throttle because I kept spinning my tires.

He hadn't spun the tires and wasn't happy that I beat even though I was. He got a different vehicle shortly later...

I looked at one of those 6ft tandem 3-point disk units. But I asked around for those who use them. They said it's ok, but not so good for breaking fresh ground or on hard packed soil. They just don't have enough weight to penetrate. The cemented the choice of the tiller.

Heck, I could put the 206 in there, but in the 182 that's a cinch, as long as those trees you leave aren't 150 footers.

Let's see, I know from experience, Osh Kosh is about 400 nautical from here, with a cruise rate of 150 kts. that's under 3 hours, including a little sight-seeing and a visit with those nice people in Customs.

In fact with the tundra tires on I wouldn't even worry about it, just give it a good cut, walk it good for FOD and gopher holes and in I come, LOL.

We have a couple of Rhino flail mowers that we use for the odd contract we do for cutting rough stuff.

For road-side work ar anything where they may be people, vehicles, animals, etc., in the area they are the only real choice.

In my picture # 20 there is one them on the back of my 'Bota.

They do a very nice job, but like everything else also have their 'pro's & cons' list too.

The big differences are, shorter than a rotary front to back, makes for a shorter load if trailer is crowded, or for manuevering, also makes turning tight corners next to fence lines easier, not so much tail swing, debris can be a PITA, rocks, stumps, etc., are OK but anything like plastic sheets or twine, rope or fence wire will be wrapped around the spinner bar before you know what happened. Carry small bolt cutters, vice grips and gloves with you any time you go cutting.

Flail knives break, until that point they don't really have to be sharpened. A new set can be spendy and take some time & patience to change them. One mine there are 92 pairs of knives to be changed each time.

All in all, unless you have a really big pasture, you might find it easier, and cheaper, to just clear the rocks.
