I noticed that my last post was 8 months ago and I would definitely buy another one!!
Driven with a light foot on the hydro stat control giving the hydro time to engage the second assist pump I have found no place that can stop it,also by feathering your foot pressure there by reducing the pressure on the valve it will decelerate to a very smooth stop just like an auto xmsn! (your mileage may vary!!

First mod was adding the windshield , radio, and xm radio,front and rear ball hitches, winch and heavy shocks (front) are waiting their turn to be installed!!

Bed liner is a must and I added a second piece of truck bed rubber mat over that!! Made for a very quiet RTV!

I was disappointed with the harmonic rattle at low engine RPM and solved that problem too and have put in a fix to Kubota for review!! Awaiting their answer but no more rattling!!

We use it every day and I'm sure you will also!!

Highly recommend the RTV900WS and also recommend you test drive one with the above procedures!!

doc,

Your dealer added the joystick before you looked at it. From the factory, it is not a factory option but a dealer installed option after the dealer receives the tractor. My point was when pricing, the MF comes with the joystick 100% of the time. The Kubota may or may not depending on if the dealer adds it to it.

I am just running a first tank of bio in my B2710. For now at least the smell is better, though I must say that the engine puts out very little odor to begin with. All the recently made Kubotas and JD's in this neighborhood use 100% bio without trouble. No one that switched would go back. There were some older JD's that had hose failure after a year, but when replaced with newer material (Viton, I think it is), no further problem. You might also want to keep an eye on your filtration. It seems that glogged fuel filters are a potential problem since the bio will dissolve and clean out any residual deposits presently in your fuel system, and place them in your filter. In our hot climate gelling is no problem, but long storage needs bacterial inhibitors.

The bio is not so good for starting fires. One guy here tried sprinkling some on a slow starting fire and put it out.

Flail mowers are probably built lots better than 30 yrs. ago, but I had one from that time and rocks were the biggest problem, I don't remember the brand anymore, but I was broke down more than I was mowing. Best of luck. Frank.

FWIW- I sold the Ventrac 3000 I had back to the factory 5 years ago. A friend of mine bought one last year and he's not happy with all the problems he's had, especially the bearing on the center pivot that's failed repeatedly.

For the money spent and aiming for a tractor that will remain as trouble free as can be reasonably expected; I would suggest looking at a Deere 5205 4WD or the 5325. For that many acres a 6403 or a 6603 would not be a bad choice either. I am considering one in the future for service on the ranch. I just don't have the confidence in the electronics and switches that Deere and many others are fielding on their machines. I own a 4410 and it has been a fantastic machine but I wonder how the eHydro and electronic 4WD & pto engage will function 20 years from now? I guess it is a matter of personal preference. For a larger farm tractor, I want a lever to engage the pto or 4WD.

Another option I STRONGLY suggest you take a serious look at is the Kioti DK65S. Probably the most and best tractor you can buy on the market for the money spent in my opinion.

The 4520 I am sure will do everything you want it to do but take into consideration the over all reliability several years down the road. If you park the tractor in a garage, it will probably hold up just fine. Outside or under an equipment shed exposed to the elements may bring another result.

Sometimes a simple and basic design is better as is bolstered by the huge numbers of John Deere 4020, 4030, 4040, 4050, and 4055 series tractors still in use today.

I have found that on the larger engines most factory intake set up are rather good as far as air flow. On smaller engine v6 and 4 cyl especially they are more restrictive. I made my own air intakes before and have notice more seat of the pants power. I made mine out of 3" PVC piping. I would never spend $250.

I recently wrestled with the same question as you. It really depends on what you want in the end. Personally, I wanted a barn/workshop that has the feel of a traditional barn... ie rough-cut lumber, and heavy beams. I did not want it to look or feel like a garage, which is what you normally get when you stick-build. Steel was also an option (less maintenance, tighter building) but, it wasn't what I wanted to look at every day. I dont live in a perfect climate for pole-construction. The soil can be damp at times. However, we decided to use marine-grade pressure treated posts which many have used in this area without any problems. Additionally, I set my gravel base about 1ft higher than existing grade in order to get positive drainage away from the structure. (You should do this which ever way you build.) I then poured a concrete slab floor.

All-in-all, Im real happy with my shop. I'll try to get some pics up here in the near future.

A bit off center on this reply, but nonetheless some trivia about the word "thresh hold" or "threshold". The word goes way back to the middle ages when homes (huts really) had threshings of grass or wheat, oats, etc. on the floor as a covering. At the entry doorway they placed a piece of board under the door to "hold the thresh" down hence "thresh hold."

I changed the transmission fluid and filter this morning. It's a messy job! Everything went well. I did find metal flakes in the bottom of the bucket I used to catch the oil. Not many, but they were there.

It is just sloppy. Very sloppy. It drives me nuts.

I will probably end up pulling the thing apart again and either shimming the main horizontal pivot or paying the bucks to have a machine shop line-bore it for an over-sized pin.

I was able with the help of my dealer's rep to take off my B4672A Hoe off my B7610 tractor. (By playing with the stabilizers, Boom, Dipper and 3 pts).<br>

What made me a bit wonder about them is that he didn't follow the instruction written in the documentation (he unhooked the bottom pins first and also took off the pins of the 3pt limiter Hitch) and it took almost 2 hours to take it off and back on..... which I believe it's not normal for someone who supposely knows how to do this.<br>

But I have a question for medium to long term storage, since I plan on removing the hoe in the winter.<br>

With the bucket on the ground and some pieces of wood under the other end of the Hoe (under the mainframe near the hydaulic oil tank) we kept the hoe at the level needed to put it back on the 3 PH.<br>

My question is can anyone tell me what is the safest way to store it for around 4-5 months (since I know I cannot repy on Hydraulics that would be dangerous). Can I put the piece of wood under the bar that normally goes under the 3pt lower arms (3pt limiter hitch)? is it strong enough to hold the Hoe weight? If anyone has a picture on how the store it I would really appreciate it.<br>

The AC Tech said that the unit was performimg to factory spec because there was a 21 degree difference in temperature between the feeder duct and the return duct. Therefore he said it did not require more refrigerant.<br>

The XL1200 was the super high efficenecy 8 years ago, and the pin fins sure seem more delicate, hence the need for the protective housing around it.<br>

The top weather protector cover comes off easily it is just spring mounted. The side panels that mount between the corner towers are attached with six sheet metal screws. But it seems that to get them to slide out you would have to take the top of the unit off. The top contains the blower fan and has maybe 25 sheet metal screws in all holding it. It is not clear which of the 25 need to come off to get the side panel out. Seems like alot of work just to rinse the coils off.<br>

Another thing I was wondering is if anyone cleans the evaporater in their system, that seems to be another potential source of efficiency loss. As this is part of the furnace I wonder if the oil guy has even looked at it when he cleans the combustion chamber annually?

I have owned my Kioti 3054 for almost 10 years. So far I have experienced a broken rim, broken loader sub-mount, leaking FWD and now recently a failing waterpump. I bought the machine used with 700 hours I now have 1425 hours on it today. It has been a workhorse but it has it limitations. Its glass jaw is its clutch it won't take any work in high range when using the loader you have to be in low range or else.

I wouldn't hesitate too buy another Kioti it has been tough tractor.

I am not worried about filters and service items....Kubota should support their product with parts like starters, drive train and steering parts. The normal expected life in the US of a tractor is around 30+ years. According to Kubota US headquarters...not a dealer....the Japanese only expect tractors to last 10-15 years and therefore only support parts for that long.
