I have a 6' cutter that I have always used an angle grinder to sharpen the blades. Sharpen them at least once and sometimes twice a year. I don't take the blades off. I just stand the cutter up on its side, lean it back against my FEL, secure it with a chain, and have at it. Much easier and cleaner than trying to reach under. And it allows me to clean grass, twine, wire, etc. wrapped around the blade bolts. And I always lube around the blade bolts to keep the blades free swinging. I don't remove much metal and I try to maintain the original angle of the blade. If I get the edge too sharp, I just use a file to flatten the edge a littel. No more vibration now than when new.

I purchased my NH locally about 18 miles away. The dealer performed warrenty work on a hydaulic leak. I also had the 50hr service performed by the dealer. So far I am satisfied with the dealer and his service department.

How many of you bought from your local dealer

The only benefits the B7510 offers are higher ground clearance (from bigger wheels and tires) and a non-limited 3PT. Unless you physically can't traverse your property with a BX, it should be more than enough for a 1/2 acre residential lot. Keep in mind, the BX is a bit more manuverable and takes up a little less space in the garage. I actually considered the 7510 for my 2-1/2 acres but went with a BX because it would do everything I needed and has a newer design.

BX23 or B7510 for half acre and Commercial use

Yeah, no harm done. I was wearing a belt but it went over real slow so I would have had time to hang on. The loader arm contacted a tree and the tree went over v-e-r-y s-l-o-w. Winched it upright and it didn't have a scratch on it. Only damage was spilled battery acid from a loose cap. Whoops. Base cause was the earth gave way under the left side. I didn't know the hill was made of spoils from the house excavation.

General duty 16' tandems typically have a pair of 3500# axles. That means each tire must be load rated at 1750# or more. The rim capacity must meet or exceed the tire capacity. That pretty much limits you to 14" or larger rims with no less than five or more bolt holes each.

If cost is not a problem, a front snowblower on a
tractor is the best as far as moving the snow to a
place you want it. I have a 1/4 mile long east-west
driveway, and for years I have used my truck plow. The
big problem is I get a bank on each side and it allows
for severe drift-in, here in N. Wisc. We get winds out of the North or N. West all the time. Since I switched to the
front snowblower on my Kubota 3430, I blow it to the south
each time and get almost no drift. It is also very handy
in small areas and allows me to shovel almost nothing
around my house and buildings.

I personally would suggest you look at a howse 5ft
rotary mower. I think it is the best built mower
on the market. I think you can still get one for
under $1000 and the parts are all readily availabe
(at least here in N. Wisc. they are) I have stored
mine outdoors for the last 15 years and other than
the paint, it doesnt hurt it. I do take the pto
shaft in for the winter. I now will begin storing
it indoors, as I have built another shed. If maintained
properly about all you will need is a set of blades from
time to time.

OK, With out looking at your manual, which way do you pull or push your handle to engage 4 wd. Is down towards the ground engaging it or is pulling UP engaging it? Since my tractor does not let me know with an idiot light when it is engaged I had to guess till I looked it up?<br>
Do you know, with out looking it up? The sticker next to it is useless

I found a dealer real close to me (actually the first try) that will happily do ANY work I ever need on my tractor., Seems they are being bought out by anouther dealership and are more than welcoming in ALL new work. I explaned what I heard here and he told me NOT to worry and to bring it in any time, they will happily perform any work that needs to be done. he also told be to keep them in mind when I buy my ls185b in the future!<br>

I would be willing to bet there are 500 to over a 1000 down there. On the hot day last week I watched every few seconds 2-3 flying in at a time for many seconds in a row.
I have my plan! LOL
As soon as it rains again (maybe in Sept. at the rate its going down here) I will go out there at night with 2 10' pieces of 1" pvc connected with a connector. I will then shine a light accrossed the edge of where I think the exact opening is. I will push the end of this tube to the opening and pour about a gallon and a half of gass thru it dragging it thru the grass towards me when finished. (hopefully it will leave a trail of fuel all the way to where I stand. Light that babby up after about 10-20 seconds and grab the garden hose I will have waiting by my side. This may be risky especially if I do NOT hit the hole. I figure I should be able to get within 2-3" at the most away from the hole if I dont get it exactly so hopefully enough will get down there to make a heck of a concusion thru the hole.

Maybe I could post the relevant parts of the manual for you...

It will leak down, but not like that.... you have air in the system, or they didn't top off the sump and it is drawing air.

Let me know what I can do to help.

A dana 60 is about as strong a front axle as you can get and that is what dodge used to use and dodge does not even make it. Do they still use that front axle for the real trucks. They don't make any of the leaky parts so it seems. Cummins, New Venture etc. My 89 and 93 got worked and plowed lots of snow. No problems. The only breakage on the 89 was when it sank into soft soil and froze. I tried rocking it back and forth. Finally I heard a pop, and thinking it broke free, I put it in drive and went to work. When I got to work and tried to back into my parking spot, no reverse, snapped the band, but it had over 100k on it. I sold my 93 to one of my suppliers and he works it even harder than I did. I ask him about it whenever I see him and he says it is still going strong.

Thanks for the quick reply. I looked up the Hydrostatic transmissions and that sounds like it would save a lot of shifting. I assume MFWD means Modified Four Wheel Drive but, what�s the difference between FWD vs. MFWD? I�m really ignorant about modern tractors; thus, I appreciate your patience.

Hawk - I have a 4310 and I have similar deck problems but with the 72" MMM. Not enough adjustment so it doesn't raise very much. I've gotten it better, but need to either buy shorter adjustble rods for the rear connection or cut my existing ones.

I put the bolt on edge on my bucket. I also dig in a lot of rocks and this keeps the leading edge wear on the bucket at a very low level. It is reversible also, so when it comes with a second life.

You could also use hard surfacing rod with a welder to reinforce the leading edge and bottom of the bucket lip and it will improve the wear, but I think that the bolt on is the way to go.

I am putting this little diesle tractor together, and the lines have air in them. I can get it to start with some prompting, but it cuts off. How do you get the air out using the little drain cock, that leads to a tube. I play around with it, but I can't seem to get fuel to drain out of it, which means I am doing something wrong. Please just give me the basic steps.<br>
