I have had a PTO auger and cussed my way through over 100 holes over the years growing up on the farm. I would never own one again. I would sooner rent a real auger (Hydraulic) than have junk. If you are in a sandy area it may be fine, but with rocks and roots its a pain. I have replaced 2 or 3 shear bolts in 1 hole, I have used a crowbar to back out an auger stuck in the ground.

Here is SE Michigan we use OSB almost exclusively---roofs, walls and floors. Plywood is used on some commercial builds where fire break/resistance is required like on a townhouse or apartment. Around hear OSB costs the same as plywood. My neighbor's new $450K house uses a fairly new OSB product on the floors that is literally waterproof. He left it uncovered (no roof) all through the winter and spring and there was not even a joint that swelled---not even where the screws are. Made a believer out of me.

I have pretty good luck when it comes to running out in my New Holland TC33D CUT and LS180 skid steer. I can crank them over four or five times and they start right up with no bleeding or anything.

Now my Cummins Dodge is a different story. I have actually used a pneumatic blow gun wrapped in duct tape to make an adapter to fit the fuel filler neck opening. A cople shots of air and this pressurizes the entire delivery system and in seconds it starts up.

I know what you're thinking---I get too busy and forget about the fuel level. DOH!

I'm assuming your chipper is a disk-type. These are really hard on your hands and arms as far as trying to keep the limbs from shooting back at you, or wildly bouncing side-to-side in the chute (wear hearing protection too!). I had a hard time selling my commercial 24hp 6" unit because of that. A friend rented a Home Depot version a little larger than mine and broke his finger when a limb shot back at him. They're not toys. From an efficency standpoint most pro's use what are called "C&D chippers" (chuck and duck) drum-type chippers as they virtually suck in the limbs in seconds--so chuck it in there and duck because you might become chipped yourself!

flowerman: Your CUT is HST right? I'm told 3pt trenchers really aren't suited for manual trans. CUTs as you need to inch forward (or even backward when required) under power.

I bought my Kubota tractor from my closest Kubota dealer. I was satisfied with the sales department but the service department leaves something to be desired. It seems like every question I ask they can't answer. As a result the next tractor is going to be a John Deere or New Holland where there is better service. The sale only lasts for ashort period but I have to interface with the service area much longer.

How many of you bought from your local dealer

I am going to post a picture of the finished tower in my Picture Area of this website. I still have the TC45. I have been putting up another set of radio towers. These are fixed guyed towers at 95 ft and 65 ft. I dug all the foundation holes with the TC45 backhoe and moved the heavy stuff around.

Well I diassembled and cleaned the injectors. Pretty basic job. Put it all back together. It runs a little better, but is still lacking power, and is still pumping black smoke out. The only way I could get it to run a little cleaner was to turn (in) the fuel pressure (?) adjustment on the back of the pump. I turned it all the way in, but it is still running very rich.
Now I have to assume it's a pump issue. Maybe some part of the internal regulator is stuck or broken causing an overpressure condition. DANG WISH I COULD FIND A SERVICE MANUAL FOR THIS THING!!!

I installed both front and rear facing dual work lights. They are great for work as Iowafun mentioned and the front facing work light really help to see at dusk and night with the FEL installed. The FEL bucket tends to block a good bit of the headlights. The only draw back is WOW! are those work light bug magnets!

I have not used one for many years, but ESAB used to be a very good brand. The last one I used was a robotic welding industrial application.

I think that they bought up one of the other fairly common brands a few years ago, and their consumer product line is probably from that acquisition. I would look at them if I was in the market myself.

This same type of scam happened at our dealership a year ago. We knew it was bogus, but played along and sure enough we got a cashiers check in the mail for $8,000 more than we were asking for. The check looked like a grade school art project, so fake. Then the sender kept calling wondering whey the extra money hadn't been wired to him. Making like we were robbing him. Obviously a foreigner because of the accent and delay in the phone. He finally gave up calling and then emailed a voodoo curse on our dealership. That's the last we heard from him.

Nope.

Your total length with the back hoe in place is just a bit over 14 feet and weighs 2500+ pounds.

If you leave the back hoe and any other rear implement off, you MIGHT be able to use the trailer, but getting the tongue weight right is going to be a real problem.

I would strongly recommend you trade up to a 16 foot dual axle trailer with a minimum of 5000 GVW.

Actually we do it a little more different than that even.

We flip the rake over upside-down!

Use just the two lift arms and forget the upper link completely. Lift the arms so that only the rounded part of the back of the tines slide across the surface.

The gap between the tines allows just the right combination of agitation and covering. Also running the rake this way ensures that it cannot ever drag any seed around by biting in.
