I've got a 7254 Compact with the 60" deck. Less than 100 hours on it, dealer has performed CPSC recall for transmission problem, and "worked on" the deck to fix a problem causing the belt to come off the pulleys and/or break. Problem is, the belt hopped off again, usually when first engaged with the electic switch. Deck starts with a quite a "thunk", pulls motor rpm way down, but then runs smoothly. The belt seems to always come off when first engaged, not while running.<br>

Any thoughts or others having this problem?

Just bought a refurbished Zen Noh 1510D which has Yanmar badges but Zen Noh decals. It's four wheel dirv and has powershift (no clutch needed). Is this a Yanmar 1510D? The dealer said it has 20 hp. Can it handle a five foot bush hog? I just bought a four footer but can take it back. I'm replacing a worn out Bobcat 453 and some old Cub Cadet mowers with the Zen Noh on my five acre homestead with three horses and 6 dogs.

Just wanted to post this to tell you how pleased I am! I put the shim kit in the relief valve under the seat of my JD 790 and now lift a 1100 lb disk with no problem whatsoever! (previously I had to bore a different set of holes in my three point arms and move them back when I used the disk to give the tractor more leverage).<br>

I simply picked up the shims with the part # you listed, called a trusted JD mechanic who verified that it's the tallest cap (if you're standing behind the tractor it's to the right) and put them in right under the cap. I didn't have the gauges to pressure test, but he told me if you bottomed it out and it didn't lug the motor much it would probably be allright, although he wasn't certain what a dealer would say.<br>

Art, yes you're right I did oversimplify things a bit about the 7720. Yes most every other moving part had been replaced at least twice if not more. The hour meter had quit at about 3800 hrs. and then it ran the last four or five falls without one, so guessing I say it had total hours in the low to mid 5's. It did still have the original walkers, but I had rebuilt them once. Frank.

The throw out bearing should spin free at the face where it contacts the fingers of the pressure plate. The body it self should not spin.

denwood, the first year Ford 6 litre had alot of problems, they all had electrical/computer problems that for a while the dealers couldn't fix. I saw one on a lot a 3500 dump, with 12000 miles, spotless. I asked if it was forsale, they said no, it was going to be crushed as soon as Ford picked it up. No one was allowed to buy it at any price, they wanted it off the street.Another one with 20,000 miles at a dealer was marked so low and was in such good shape I had to try it out, it didn't idle and ran like it was about to blow. The 7.3's didn't leak oil but the oil pans rust out which you have to remove the engine to change. As far as Dodge, the delivery truck that delivered my 10 ton trailer was a Dodge, he had 36,000 lbs of trailers stacked on behind. I asked him how long he thought he could get away with that, he said, that it had a boost kit on the turbo, it was I believe a 2002 or 03 and had 303,000 miles on it, he said he thought it was doing pretty good, where, that all it has ever done is haul those kind of loads all over the country.He has had no problems so far.

I agree with greg. If you are not familiar with tractors or mechanically inclided (like me) an assembled tractor is the way to go. I bought my AgraCat (JM254) fully assembled with FEL for less than $8500US delivered, good deals are out there just keep looking. Once (if) you get one the guys/gals on this forum are great and will to help with anything they can.

I finally got the new fuel injector in (OK, nephew did it) but it's in and all seems to be working great. It turned out that the fuel pump was NOT the problem but it was worth a try. <br>

I thought that timing would be an issue but it wasn't we simply marked the gears and key locations were carefull when removing the old injector and adjusted and aligned the key in the new injector with the slot on the gear and "boom goes the dynamite", she fired right up and sounded good. They may have been luck but I'd rather by lucky then good. Thanks to all for your generous help, assistance, and good will.

Discount Tire has Tow Masters/Green Ball that are reasonably priced. I understand that Carlisle has made a design change. The old tread pattern that had a zig-zag pattern like a saw tooth used to separate where the tread meets the sidewall. It would usually balloon out in a nice bubble before they broke. The new tread pattern is just straight grooves. TSC and a bunch of other places sell the Carlisle.

I had the same problem with my 4310 and i replaced the spring ( about 2.00 at dealer ) and sprayed the shaft where it goes in side on rear axle with some wd40 or whatever you wish. When you spray the shaft you can tell that it is working better just keep working it before you install the spring. Mine has never gave another problem and i would bet that will fix yours. Much easier if you remover the rear wheel. If you look part up online it will not be shown on real axle but shown with the ROPS. Who knows why.....John Deere i guess.

Pro's and cons can always be debated about the muti users but chances are it always had the required services on time with a government entity owner. I've seen individuals work to kill equipment by not taking dealer recommended procedures for operating or even instructions from the owners manual for servicing time periods.

I don't know the differences between the older and newer B-series models, but on a BX one lever selects which PTO will run (rear-540RPM OR mid-2200RPM OR BOTH rear-540 AND mid-2200). Another lever actually engages or disengages whichever PTO(s) have been selected.

That is a loaded question as it depends on your uses as to if it's worth it or more! If you are doing PTO and loader work then it definitly could be worth it.

I have a Curtis soft cab on the 4500 that I purchased used. I really like it. It nice in the winter when clearing snow and in the summer you have shade. I leave the doors off most of the summer. I was thinking of a heater for winter but really just being out of the wind is enough on most occasions.

My 2002 4310 e-hydro did simular as yours. I accidently pressing the forward (or in vise versa order)petal, removed my foot instancely, then press the reverse petal, the tractor computer decided to go forward before reversing. This is a scary thought while I was dumping dirt at the edge a ravine-hill side. I planted both feet on both petals as soon as I relized I stepped on the forward petal. To date, the tractor will drift if ever stopped on a slope. My 2000HST model would also do the same as the 4310 model. JD Dealer replaced the computer to correct the 4310 problem. It was covered under warrenty. Mudder
