I just read your profile and it says you are in Australia. If I were you besides getting a much bigger rig, asumming your 15 acres of mowing was not a typo and you really meant 1.5 acres, make sure you get a tractor where there are alot of dealers near by. How could you possibly lean towards something you never saw and cannot find a dealer for?????? There few MF dealers here in the US, probably much less in AU. Look at the post counts on Deere, Kubota and New Holland. MF accounts for only about 2% of posts for the big 3 on Tractorpoint

I could be wrong since I only have a side discharge but I believe the rear discharge will handle the higher grass faster since each spindle is discharging its own grass rather than feeding it to the next blade and then the next. I have never had any problems with discharge and it seems to blow it out just fine without clumping.

How often should you sharpen rotary cutter blades? As I understand it, they should normally be dull, so, how do you determine when they are ready to be sharpened?<br>

The second question is...how to sharpen them? Someone told me that grinding isn't the best method for sharpening. He recommended taking them to a blacksmith to be pounded back into shape. Thoughts?

A 6" 3-point chipper would likely do the job but be aware that 5" hardwoods would be near the limit of what your pto can deliver. 4-5" stumps can be a challenge to dig out without a backhoe. It might be easier to do all your cutting and rent a stump grinder for a day. Better for the trail to leave the dirt as undisturbed as possible.

Yooper, I love that idea. A poor man's supercharger. You could take your friends for a ride, then at the base of a hill flip the switch and start the "blower." Better yet would be an gas leaf blower. That might have the CFM needed to effectively increase the oxygen intake and wouldn't be a drain on the charging system. Everyone would hear you coming though. :)

I haven't had any problems with my new TC45 (human or mechanical). Thank god everything isn't made the way it used to be. We would be stuck in 1920.

Is there a standard/best procedure for jacking up the rear on a 4020 series tractor? <br>

Are there jack stands available that would fit someplace suitable? My jack stands hit the tire and can't be put under the place where the top of the stand fits the axel properly.<br>

If the cedar is below the water line, you really don't need to treat them at all. They will last 30 years in the ground, unlike other species. They will deteriorate in the ground in some areas. We use them for retaining walls on lakes and rivers without any treating.

The newer Case has either the 4 stick or 2 stick. Depending on how much you are looking to spend look at a New Holland 555E or a JCB 214. You could probably find either one the way you are looking for and in decent shape for around $35,000 to $40,000.

with a large bed suspended in between, With a washing machine motor & agitator shaking the screen.

Gotta say it! Ether is the most dangerous and stupid thing you can try. Do people do it? YES! Do they get away with it? Yes! Most times.

If I step on a toe here I apoligize. My Comment is from experience not someone told me.

I have seen, years ago, ether used outside and the tire guy hide on the back side of the truck when he did it.

I have seen 2 people killed ( you wanna see a mess?) from split rims and the damage to a tire shop and a tire from ether. I have also seen several tire cages that have been destroyed over the years from ether and split rims.

More tire guys and inexperienced amatures have been maimed or killed, according to the tire industry, by using ether than any other thing, except maybe split rims. I do not know of any local tire shops that will permit ether to be on their trucks, even in the winter for starting.

Tires will blow off beads. Rims will break. People in the area will get hurt or killed.

I manage a fleet of 21 tractor trailers and tri axle dumps also 7 very large wheel loaders and scads of various smaller equipment involved in quarry and road construction. The tire guys always can seat a bead sometimes the have to call for more help and experience but they do it with out danger to themselves or others.

Our company had a worker killed when he used a cutting torch near a barrel of stored windshied washer fluid, and a open bung. Windshied washer fluid in tires is wrong. If it is pumped into a barrel to store while a tire is being repaired and a careless match, cigerette or flame is near it, some one could get seriously hurt.

If you are gonna ballast the wheels use a tube, use calcium or beet juice. If you are gonna run them soft use screws like the fuel drag cars.

What is the condition of the air cleaner? Many times excessive black smoke is from lack of air.

As Art said injector cleaner and find some place to work the engine real hard.

I have a 155D. It's been a great tractor. It is 15hp, however, 15hp is like having 25hp gas. I have a front loader, Howard Rotovator, and a Post hole digger. The japan version I think is a YM1300. Can't tell you what they go for now, and it all depends on the condition. Don't buy a wreck or a fixer. Make sure everything works. Parts are not cheap. That goes for any tractor.

Does anyone know who made the MarkMaster model 16/44 back in about 1980 ?? I am working on rebuilding one for my dad, and need several parts for the mower deck, its a 44 inch cut with 2 blades, side discharge, and a 16hp briggs twin. I have the owners book with the "markmaster" part numbers, but thus far have only been able to cross ref. 1 bearing at my brothers NAPA store, all other part numbers show no cross ref. number....Or if anyone would know of a deck or replacement deck that would be great too.<br>
