Hi, Thought I would let you know I bought the Cub cadet. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on it. I just love this tractor. It has all kinds of power and really easy to drive and operate. I was able to plow snow with it up hill (10% grade)with out any trouble. I did chain up the front wheels. I just love the hydrastatic drive. I can do things with this tractor that I wouldn't have even thought about doing with my old 8N!!! I got a 5ft. rototiller with the tractor and that works great!! I bought a 5ft. snowblower for it and plan on using it next winter. Have a good day!!

I have a 2004 3130 hst, the manuel shows the main drain plug and the one on each rear axle at the bottom, however it also shows one other drain on each side that is up and back a little further the drains on each axle. The problem is I can't find the latter drains, I looked all over, are they really there are is the illustration wrong????<br>

I would think that if you greased it even occasionally (they do have plastic greasing nipples molded into the guard) that the nylon bearings would last forever. I think people just don't take the time to set up the anti-rotation chains. They can be a pain to get connected and adusted the first time, but after that, I don't find them much of a hassle.

Couldn't stay tractorless for long, about drove me crazy. Bought a Case 580se loader backhoe 4x4 cab extendahoe. Compared to the John Deere 110 it's kinda like a dinasour but alot of power, I'm getting used to it, but I don't think it will ever have the agility and balance of the JD. Even though I had alot of problems with the first JD 110 the second one really proved to be a very well designed machine for it's size with just a few minor flaws.

I am having a problem with the lift action of the 3 pt hitch. The tractor has magnetic coils that open valves. The coils seem ok. What else can be wrong?

The good news is that the connectors went right back together. I let off the excess pressure like you suggested and it worked.

The bad news is that the FEL and BH still have the same problem. Is there anything else I could possibly check? I don't know much about hydraulics. Is there such a thing as air in the line or bad fluid that would cause this? Could a line be plugged somewhere?

Does anyone make a repair manual for the bx23 (like a Chilton's style book) ?

You might try a fuel additive like power service. You might have gotten some bad fuel or some dirt contamination.

The kit will have everything you need, including detailed instructions. You will have to remove a rear wheel and a fender.

I'm on the original tranny with the 2000. It is used 75% as a tow vehicleand the lightest trailer is my 32' enclosed sled hauler at about 6k loaded.I did switch the trans to synthetic at 10 miles and installed a big cooler and aux. trans filter in the cooler line.Fluid was dumped at 65k,the in pan screen and pan was absoulutely clean.I know a lot of people have had nightmares with the trans,but I'll bet 90% of them were brought on by maitnence or abuse issues.Reverse is weak and will overheat the oil quickly.I did install manual hubs on it so that when I'm spotting trailers I can use low range in the transfer case , this really is a plus.

Thanks to all for the replies. I can't wait to get it and get started. We have 10 acres of old farm field that we are putting a house on this summer. I will have plenty to do and I think the 790 will be more than enough tractor for me.

This is my first tractor and while I would have liked to have gotten a hydro, the cost justification was not there for me.

Does anyone know the differences between the 419 and 300 loaders other than the curved arms?

For 15 acres, you may want to consider a step up in size. I have a JD2210 and mow 2 acres. I wish I had gone a size larger with the JD 4110/4115. Just my opinion.

I would want enough to buy another one. The more I think about it the 790 is just what I need and if I sold it I would be taking the initial depreciation for nothing. This tractor has been trouble free and is now properly broke in so if anything I would just put a backhoe on it.
Dont get me wrong. If you want to gve me 13.5 its sold but that just would not be right.
My advice is go get a new one from your local dealer with a good warranty and you too will want to keep yours for thirty years. Deere has been around for long time and is not going anywhere. The 790 is a long term no frills piece of equipment. A lot of steel, no bells and whistles to maintain. Its just a good tractor. nuff said.

My dealer just informed me that the BH75 is only for this years L3400 HST. They do not recommend it for my 2004 L3400, they only recommend the woods 7500.<br>

I also would like to know more about what other backhoe attachments would be suitable for my '04 L3400. Any advice on how to locate and purchase is welcome as well.<br>

YM1610 3pt&loader not working. Was working, left at a public place and then didnt, never under load. Looking in case I can see fluid pumping. No idea where the filters/screens are, or what filter to replace - any ideas, closed valve, bad pump?

There's so many variables in the system it's hard to tell for sure, but it does seem a little quicker this morning.

If you're using it to mow the lawn and other field,garden and woods work, I'd recommend the TC33-series tractors. But if it won't be used for mowing the lawn, I'd say TC40 all the way.

Congrats on your purchase! I still have the same clutch in the 1949 IH Super "C". Don't expect the need to replace clutches on yours. In 1st. gear with a loader on the front, it can still bring the front end off the ground when plowing with a two bottom moldboard plow.

The test thing for comparison sake is always the best way to go. Likewise, you know your own application and needs better than us. If you're happy, that's all that counts.
