Hi neighbor, I live in Banks too.

If you want to pull a medium duty 6' brush hog around here you need 35 hp at a minimum. If a 5' hog works for you the TC33 should do the job. Tires are a big issue. I can say from experience that R4 tires stink in the clay soil around here, wet OR dry. You need R1 ag tires. But they will leave deep tracks when wet, which is most of the time. So you will have to plan paths where you can drive to and from the fields without driving over your lawn. Graveled trails work for this and look fine when integrated into the landscape.

Oh yeah, good luck on the blackberry and scotch broom. Scotch broom seeds last in the soil for 60 years or so and they will pop up every year. Round-up (glyphosate) browns them for a year but they will be back. Crossbow (2,4D with Triptophan (sp?)) is what the forest managers recommend.

You might have a fault in the wiring or the switch on the housing so I'd be checking to see how that part of it is working. Good call to stop and find out what is wrong.

My primary use for my tractor was going to be mowing. So I knew I wanted the belly mower and tighter turning would be a plus. I test drove a SS equipped tractor on a gravel parking area noting how much the front tires would push. I was amazed at how little it disturbed the ground. I bought a TC33D with SS and I do lawn mowing and love it.

What's it comming off? You will probably have to buy the mounting brackets and power beyond plumbing in addition.

Yes it should fit. BUT I'd check with JD first for the other parts and installation costs.

Last year I thought I still needed more lime on my small food plot out back (as it turned out the new soil test I got this year now reads 6.9 ph LOL) Anyway I did not want to try a pull spreader again (it is fruitless to do that) So I had a great (or I thought a great ) idea. I loaded up my bucket with bags of ag lime and headed out to the plot. I had my bro-in-law drive my tractor backwards I opened up 4 bags at a time and left them on the edge. As he crept backwards I walked behind the front of the tractor digging into the lime with my arms and hands and throwing the lime as far as I could with a sweeping motion.
Yes it worked just fine. I broadcast about a ton on lime on that 3/4 acre plot in about 30 min. I looked like the pilsbury dough boy when I was finished. Covered head to toe with lime. Yes it was about 90 degrees out also so it stuck very nicely to myself. Although what I did worked, and for the small acreage I had to do it was NOT worth having it done for me especially since the lime trucks require a full load (14 ton atleast). I would not think about anything larger than an acre by hand though unless I was really in a bind.

I think a Deere 990 (40 hp) would fill the new postion nicely. A Kioti DK45 would be another nice choice. You could make due less hp and size but I think the 990 would pretty much cover the bases. VERY reliable machine and bullet proof design. Lot of tractor for the money with both machines.

The issue is the condition of the ditch : <<Not The Mowing Of The Ditch Or the mowing of the Right Of Way>>

It is excessively deep ranging anywhere from 1 to 3 feet deeper than it ought to be in places.
The excessive depth has resulted in the side walls of the ditch caving in on both sides of it.
I've lost 3 or 4 feet of my front lawn in spots where the ditch has caved in.

I applied for a permit to install a 40 foot culvert 60 feet below the present 40 foot drive way in an effort to reduce the hazard of entering and exiting the highway at the dangerous present blind drive way and to achieve a shorter more direct approach driveway to the garage that I built closer to the house than the distance the old drive is from the house.

The state would not issue me a permit for the 40 foot of driveway culvert unless I linked the new culvert to the old culvert by repairing the 60 feet of ditch between them and installing 60 feet of culvert to connect them.

This appears like a ploy to get me to take on their responsibilities at my expense.
If I do this on the 60 feet It would result in great benefits to the state.
1*There would no longer be a ditch for them to have to mow along.
2*No ditch no more maintenance for the state.
3* No more expenses for the state for repairs on the ditch as this would shift that responsibility over onto me.
Pretty nice free gift to the state and free up keep and repairs for them forever.

I've lived here for 39 years and the state has always taken care of the ditch.

My question is why all of A sudden is it now my responsibility to not only repair the 60 feet of ditch between the old and new culverts but on top of that upgrade the ditch by installing 60 feet of culvert in the ditch?

The 1100 don't cover the cost for the dirt and the use of my tractor on the 40 foot repair of the ditch for the driveway culvert.

As I see it the only obligation to me is the cost of the 40 feet of culvert for the new driveway the cost of the fill dirt over the 40 feet of covert and the operating cost of my tractor while installing the 40 foot culvert.

Somehow I get the feeling the state is trying to take me for a ride.

Hi,
I've seen them both and purchased the 2300 with fel,mmm, & a Woods bh. The 2300 is slightly larger than Kubota with a liitle more power. I received a better price on 2300 and in general liked it a little better. I will say I looke at all the brands and my choice came down to Kubota or Massey due to their frame and large 4 wheel hubs on front axle. Good Luck choosing! p.s. fel's are great!

Hello everyone and thank you so far for your help. I thought I was ready to start 'dealing' when I decided on a 4210. When I approached my local dealer (and according to JD new into) the 4210 is not longer. It has been replaced by a new series (3210 I think) which has more hp and hydro flow. These new changes and cost have put me over my limit.

I am now back to looking more closely at the 4115. No dealer nearby seems too anxious to find me a 4210, their eager to push the latest. Now back to the 4115.....when I made further inquiries I found that this fall (maybe late summer) the 4115 is being replaced.

Is this typical of JD to keep changing series/models? Seems like the ink is barely dried and their changing again.

My search continues......I am now thinking about waiting for the 4115 replacement out of frustration in trying to make an informed decision.

Any other suggestions?

Broken-- Just got a funny picture in my head on your idea: Lift the FEL to lower the ROPS and then hit the header on the barn door with the FEL instead of the ROPS. LOL

I have the Deere 4410 with a Deere 72" 7 Iron MMM. The 4410 is 35 hp with about 28 to 29 at the pto. In heavier grass like I am now cutting (definitely NOT the norm) it takes every bit of that pto hp. to run the MMM. The eHydro REALLY makes operation VERY instinctive and user friendly although I have my doubts about how well the eHydro will hold up over a 20 year period which is the VERY minimum I would expect a tractor such as this to last. The eHydro is a shoe in for snow blowing. You gotta go with what the budget can accomodate but if you can swing it; I would strongly suggest the CK30 or CK30HST. 30 hp is a real nice size.

I have used the following on a 2210, Woods M4 (48"), Rural King Wallace brand (48"), Mowhawk 42" and John Deere 413 on a 2210. Of the units, I would not again purchase a Wallace brand, poor blade tip speed and gives a terrible cut, next would be the Mowhawk (heck I will sell it) is a good unit, but I wanted to cover the wheels and feel the Woods M4 and 413 are a good fit. The only think I don't like about the 413 is weight, it's HEAVY.

My Kubota B7610 ROPS can be aligned so that it threads easily. However getting it in the right spot can be a challenge. The trick is to take a permanent marker and draw a line after it is attached so that all you have to do is match up the lines and you are set.<br>

On the Deere if the holes are the wrong size that is another issue.
