I would consult the operator's manual just to be sure no steps were missed. You may have to work with it to loosen it up. Have you tried calling your dealer shop to see if they have any tricks to address this issue?

I strongly agreee with Brokenarrow. Ag lime is cheap compared to the bag type lime but a royal pain to spread without the truck or a lime spreader. Most farmers around here just have the truck come out and spread it for them as the effort and cost is just not worth it.

Roger, nice looking machine and place you have there. The slope in the picture does not appear to be beyond reason to cut as you ask. With the tractor equipped as shown in the picture. With the FEL installed, the CQ of the tractor will be raised higher so be sure to have adequated ballast weight installed. Just take the slope cutting slow and easy and don't exceed what the SOPTM says is comfortable. <br>

What DOES jump out and grab my attention is that in nearly EVERY single other picture of you or other operators of the tractor are operating it with a FEL and the ROPS folded down. What makes the situation even worse is that the tractor appears to be potentially improperly ballasted for the FEL. This makes the tractor potentially dangerous in that the rear of the tractor could flip or raise up off the ground and cause or contribute to the tractor rolling on its side in some situations. Your rear tires may or may not be fluid filled but this in most cases is not enough ballast weight. Review your FEL manual for ballast requirements. Deere I think goes a bit overboard with the amount of weight in my opinion but it will give you a good idea of what is required. <br>

I kept my tractor in a garage that required folding the ROPS to park it inside and I had a few close calls forgetting to lower it BEFORE I tried to park it inside. I finally got into the habit of always checking it before hand. Do yourself and any other operators of your tractor a BIG service and insist the ROPS be fully extended and pinned as well as the seatbelts be worn. It can be a little in convienient at times but the life you save may be your own. <br>

Before I bought a Kubota I priced MF/Agco, although I was looking at much bigger tractors than you are.

For whatever reason, I found that the Agco dealers always had better prices on the same tractor as the MF dealers.

You can learn a lot by talking to more than one local dealer. Before I finally bought my used Kubota I talked to two dealers about new and used Kubotas. The larger dealer, who seems to have lots of business, lied to me on several counts about my used tractor model/capacities/etc. and wouldn't write a price quote for a new one down anywhere.

The smaller dealer (and 20 miles farther away) was upfront, quoted prices in writing, and offered to service whatever model orange tractor I bought used.

They have been good to their word. The tractor has been in once to have the tires unfilled and some minor glitches fixed. I love it when you pick the tractor up and the first thing the dealer says is "we re-used the old parts and saved you some money".

Bottom line: there are good local dealers and there are bad local dealers who are not worth doing business with. I bought a used low hours tractor that I found on the internet and that was 800 miles away (I flew down to TN to check it out) and it was delivered for $1.00/loaded mile and it has worked perfectly including the loader and three implements. And I saved a bundle.

For mowing it is critical to stay under 100lbs per horsepower preferably under 90lbs. Loader work often requires 120lbs per horsepower or more. You would do well to figure what is most important to you in the log run for the best machine.

I think 4" is a standard length but I could be wrong. I've never seen one longer in that size. It's probably standard for a reason though. My guess is that longer pins would be at risk of shearing or bending under the designed load of a Cat-0 implement. I don't know what your application is, but assuming you are building a custom implement most people only think about static loading and forget about dynamic loading, instantaneous (shock) loading, fatigue stress, vibration, etc. The type of steel the pin is made out of can greatly affect its load capacity too. Sorry, I will step down from my engineering soap box now. ;)

As a matter of fact, that is exactly what I TOLD HER to do!!!! LOL. Spend the damm money and let me enjoy some of my summer. Last year I had NO free time to myself. My dad had told me that I need to slow down, I am trying to do too much. Those words wrung thru my head as I broke open the first can of paint. Fact is they (his words) also had a large role in me changing my mind.
I just got done putting the second coat of poly on my new french patio doors (WITH) those little oak inserts attached permanatlty to the window payne. ALL 30 of the seperate squares. That makes a total of 60 corners!!!!
Also romove just about all the furniture from the house getting ready for the wood flooring next week. Yep, After these two projects I think I am done!!!!! Tired of being tired. Many that strike was not as bad as I remember now looking back. Had NO money to do any pet projects (AKA honey do's)

Broken, ha ha! No - this jerk is crazy enough to do the same back to me. All has been quiet on the neighbor front for the past few days. I hope it continues. Grassgod and Dennis, I agree. I have to keep it cool here and see what happens. I watered my trees tonight, was out there over the weekend. He taunts me but I don't reply. As long as it stays this way I am fine. I just don't want any more damage to my property. As my laywer recommended, I let him have this minor victory. If I put things in perspective I have already won the war. <br>

I don't know if I explained this - but this guy (after he dug across my property line) applied for a variance to build a 2 story addition next to my back line. I fought it for 8 months at town hall, lost in a split vote after the board of appeals changed a member on the board, with 40 of 44 neighbors supporting me with a petition (other 4 were business men who didn't want to ruffle feathers). That is when I took control of my property and this neighbor then built his addition on the other end of the house.<br>

So the addition went where I wanted it and I lost the battle but won the war. So I have to be willing to suffer some indignation. This is a small price to pay for the property value I saved. Hopefully this guy will get over it someday.<br>

I read your post and went right to
Napa in Hancock,NY and picked up the]
metric kit ($22 with tax).

Went in fine.

Connected the two red leads togeather and
taped all floating wires.

Oil change and 5 quarts of 10w30 and
pressure came up to 75 psi.

No leaks so far.

Now to see if I can fix the fluctuating
tach.

Art, I agree. I poured a concrete 3PT counter weight about a month ago when I poured my driveway. It weighs about 1300 lbs. What a difference in stability when I have weight in the loader! I can actually fill the bucket and work it to it's full potential. Plus the extra rear wheel traction means I don't have to ram the pile to get a full bucket.

I ended up buying a 3pt drawbar, leaving the ends stick out of the form and pouring the concrete around it. At $20 it was much easier than fabricating something from scratch.

I agree. The amount of work a hydraulic cylinder can do is proportional to the size of the cylinder as well as the pressure applied to the cylinder. If you are limited on pressure you get a larger cylinder to apply more force. However it is like pullies. If you have a larger cylinder and the same flow the cylinder will travel slower. Because the tractor can only do a certiain amount of WORK (HP) but with torque multiplications (Larger cylinder or lower gear ratio) you can apply more force. The splitter company is probably telling you you need a certain flow because they have standard specs for the products. They don't want a bunch of custormers complainint the ram runs to slow on the tractor so they say this the the minimum period. If you are happy with a slower running ram then there is not problem. Just ask the splitter company about this.

Does anyone know if the 47 backhoe will fit the 4700 tractor? I know it is not the ideal hoe for this tractor, but i am able to get one for a very good price-just need to do light trenching, and tree planting with hoe. thanks
