Getting a good color is so hard when looking at those tiny chips in the store. My last paint job we wanted yellow in the master bath. Looking at the chips led me to what I thought would be a nice, cheery color. My wife agreed. So we started to paint. Man it was bright. Practically day-glow yellow. Lemons would be jealous. We hoped it would lighten up when it dried. It didn't. I mixed the remaining can with a fresh can of white. It's better, but still bright.

Those paint chips suck. I should have done what I did for my home office. For that one, I picked 2 colors and two shades of each. I bought the smallest size can in each of the 4 colors. Then I painted a test patch at least 3 ft x 3 ft of each. Two clearly didn't look good on the wall and one we really liked. But it wouldn't have been our first pick had we gone strictly by the paint chips in the store. A lesson learned.

White walls do add lots of light to a room. Be careful your wife doesn't accent the whiet walls with many accessory purchases!

I found this thread to be fascinating. It sucks to have a nice place that you love but only to have a real jerk neighbor. I agree with those who suggest taking the high road and not retaliating against his property. Now retaliating by submitting a bill/quote for fixing the blatent vandalism done with the dirt is a whole different manner. I personnaly like that option and would lean towards it myself.

But document everything. Keep records and make sure you are in the right. This guy does have connections so make sure you are in the right.

Father Norton woke up Sunday morning and, realizing it was an exceptionally beautiful and sunny early spring day, decided he just had to play golf. So... he told the Associate Pastor that he was feeling sick and persuaded him to say Mass for him that day.

As soon as the Associate Pastor left the room, Father Norton headed out of town to a golf course about forty miles away. This way he knew he wouldn't accidentally meet anyone he knew from his parish. Setting up on the first tee, he was alone. After all, it was Sunday morning and everyone else was in church!

At about this time, Saint Peter leaned over to the Lord while looking down from the heavens and exclaimed, "You're not going to let him get away with this, are you?"

The Lord sighed, and said, "No, I guess not."

Just then Father Norton hit the ball and it shot straight towards the pin, dropping just short of it, rolled up and fell into the hole. It WAS A 420 YARD HOLE IN ONE!

St. Peter was astonished. He looked at the Lord and asked, "Why did you let him do that?"

The Lord smiled and replied, "Think about it. Who's he going to tell?"

If you've been installing hydraulic equipment I would look there first. If something isn't correct the hydraulic pump could be quickly building pressure which wouldn't allow the motor to turn quickly. If it was a PTO pump try unhooking that or simply make sure the PTO is disengaged.

thanks for the thought but no it was a quart bottle. I am leaning towords the method of messure. If I just insert dipstick to rubber stop it reads about midway but without being sure I will just go with it like it is and monitor closely.

The flow numbers are all about the speed of the ram. The hydraulic pressure is the gauge of the splitting power.

That said, I am quite satisfied with my speeco three point. Working alone, I can split a cord of wood in about 75 minutes. It is considerably faster with a helper.

I really don't spend a lot of time waiting for the ram, and have no complaints about the speed or power with the 4115 running at PTO RPM.

Lravey, how about some "You couldn't pay me enough to do that advice".

The front axle on a tractor has a pivot joint in the middle. Even a CUT as big as an L3400 would be VERY unstable with the FEL in the air and and adult standing on a platform on forks in the bucket.

The leverage created by that much weight that far from the pivot point compared to the relatively narrow front axle of a CUT is a recipe for disaster.

Buy a saw on a long pole, it will cost a lot less to buy and be far safer. If that still doesn't do it for you, hire a tree service or rent a PROPER manlift.

I am also an engineer, but the case study for me is how Kubota deals with the problem, not that it happened. I would hope that, in some way, someone other than the dealer contacts me to make sure this mess was dealt with properly. When you put the kind of $'s into these machines that we do, you take care of them. When I first brought this problem to the dealer, and to the regional service rep., they were all but accusing me of somehow abusing the tractor. I would think a follow up on the regional level would be in order.

Or at least a free hat.

Sounds like you've got the range selector in Hi. I generally found H2 and H3 only good for travel - not for any meaningful work. You might wanna try L3.<br>

The seat is not the only issue. The 23HP gas "Kubota" Kohler keeps running and/or backfires when turning it off. I changed the oil at about 10 hours and it had some unusually large pieces of (aluminum?) metal in it. The dealer first blamed it on bad gas, then said I was shutting it off wrong, then blamed the new emissions. Other than that it runs fine, but for how long? It sounds and looks like it's eating up the pistons.

OK, now that I realize I never received the service manual I'm going back to the dealer again. They changed ownership recently to a company that bought out all of the John Deere dealers in the area except one. They said they lost my records. The dash fogging up and the intermittent not moving problem should be easy for them to fix... I hope.

Well you know I have looked at the deere mowers and to me they look cheap..no where as sturdily make as the Kubota ones...sorry..but that is what I see....and you know if you dont grease the spindles or bearings about ever 10 hours with any mower...you are in for troubles......I run crossed blades.and I have thousands of hours on one of my Kubota mowers......a 6 foot one...with no problems....<br>

Just look at the thickness of the steel on the attached picture....Deere does not make any mower that has this type of thick steel....sorry......
