I have encounted an intermitant problem starting my 4500. On occasion when I go to start it, It will turn over fine and not start (like it is not getting fuel).I had posted this problem last fall and got some responses but was not able to narrow it down.<br>
Yesterday I went to use it and it would not start. I unplugged then reconnected the wiring harness that goes to the fuel pump and it started right away. <br>
Do you think I have an electrical problem with the fuel pump?? An input will appreciated.<br>

Has anyone put a grill guard on a CK20HST. My dealer said when they come in he will have it put on. I was wondering if anyone has a picture of it installed.

I recently purchased a BX23 for my new home on 2.3 acres. I bought a 4' box blade and a 60" MMM. First order of business is install a ~1/2 acre front yard. The builder graded the front yard nicely with a bulldozer, leaving just smoothed dirt and 2"-6" rocks everywhere.<br>

So, first step is to remove the rocks in the top several inches of soil. I spoke with the local rental place and they recommended renting a Rock Hound ($315 per day) along with a Bobcat (cost unknown). I'd much rather use an implement that is compatible with my BX23's category 1 3pt hitch. He spoke of a rock rake attachment ($50 per day), but warned that it will not be nearly effective as the rock hound (no surprise) and may be frustrating to use, given the fact that it will mostly just bring rocks to the surface rather than collect them. I was thinking that I could angle the rake 15-30 degrees and channel the rocks into a line that could be picked up by hand afterward.<br>

3) Are they any better alternatives to a rake that are still cost effective?<br>

35+ years, it happened with the 70's vintage GM's I've owned, ever since they went to the foam backed fabric over cardboard headliners. I think once the foam separates from the fabric it is very hard to get it to stay again.

The spray glue never worked for me, If I used enough to hold the fabric, it would soak through and look horrible. If you can remove the trim that holds the headliner and remove the liner and backer-board you can scrape off the foam and try the glue trick or even stitch it up.

Grizz I did not like SS with a loader this is only my opinion, but I would never buy something you can't try first. Locally I have gotten quotes very close to your's It does not seem so super low That another dealer could not meet or beat. I was qouted $19,200 for TC33 hydro loader,filled R4s and HD bucket. I thought about trading my 2002 in on a new one. As far as a backhoe goes I have a Rhino which is who makes NH OEM hoes I paid over 2 grand less for it than the NH dealer wanted for the identicle hoe, with NH decals instead of Rhino decals. I pocketed the two grand and pulled of the Rhino decals and for under 20 bucks put on the OEM NH decals. The rhino performs great I have had guys use it that have both a kubota and JD and they both liked it better than what they have. Maybe by saving on the hoe you could get exactly the tractor you want from another dealer. good luck

It is actually a NEF but like you said H&R and them are the same creature. The finish is like black oxide and so rough that you can't wipe it decent without snagging your rag/cloth. If you don't keep it dripping wet with oil, finger prints will rust in a couple of hours use.

With a Bushnell 3-9X scope and rest, I expected to be able to virtually drive tacks at 25-50 yards. If you use CCI ammo you can't hold a 3" pattern. The Hornady ammo gets closer to 1" but has an occasional flyer. I'm angry about this but don't know who to blame; the gun, the ammo or me!

I can do that with my Marlin or Savage .22 long rifle and 2 1/2X scope.

I do appreciate the response. I know some of my ideas seem rather bizzare.

Yes the nuts were a hardened, I beleive grade 8 lock nut. The bolts were not so long as to have a non thread shank. The style of mount is a rectangle tube and the shank of the tine fits into. Most of the rectangle tube have elongated from use. One side of the tube has a machined hex pattern hole that the nut fits so no holding wrench is needed. I used a 7/16" bolts.

I had the impression most all newer tillers have the two bolt flange style rotor shafts and it just looked like the tines were held more securely that style. I was wondering if anyone had went to the trouble of making a new shaft with the newer mounting style. blljr23

I've just purchased a Sportsman 400, use it for woodlot management, mostly, and that involves all (Northeastern) terrain from swamp to rocky outcrops. It's a wonderful machine! Comfortable, with its independent rear suspension. It'll pull downed trees to the back end of the woods to rot in peace with no problem. So far I haven't felt the need for any more machine than that. A backhoe and loader someday, but that story's in chapter 2.

I've had a ZD28-72 for a year now and would not trade it for anything. No scalping problems so far and it will cut deep grass. Just be sure to get the heavy duty mower deck. You will like it no matter which size deck.

You are right, they will, and do, rust faster when blocked open. However, they do not rust TOGETHER into one piece.

As soon as you move the machine and actuate the clutch a few times the rust quickly disappears, just the same thing happens with vehicle brakes also.

It's been a while, but here goes.

I seem to recall there is a 3 way valve and relay set mid-ships on the frame, this is what changes over the flow from one tank to the other, it also switches the float sensor to read off the tank being used.

If the switch over is not happening it will do EXACTLY as you describe. Start there, something is not switching either fuel or sensor over.

Thanks Greg, I think I'll have to suck it up and replace the entire injector. I don't want to spend the time doing the delivery pump on the off chance that it will fix the problem, might just as well bite the bullet on this.

I contacted Sitrex about my SM180. They sent me a Manual (.pdf file) "Assembly, Use and Maintenance Spare Parts List". The manual just states tightened the blade retaining, no torque values are given. The email Sitrex sent me states 220 foot pounds. I quess I won't have to worry about over torqueing.

I know Northern sells a self powered Rough Cut mower and maybe some finishing mowers made for use with ATVs' ro anything else that will pull them. My only question, not having an ATV, is can you set a fairly consistient, and sometimes fairly slow ground speed on an ATV?

I have a 48" rough cut mower I used before getting the tractor. My biggest complaint was the small fuel tank. 30 minutes if lucky between refills. Then hand start the 12.5 hp motor with 48" blade again. Gets old quickly.

Good machine other than that. I've been looking at a way to hook it to the side of my FEL for road side trimming. That would be up front where I can see it and lift it if needed.
