I was just quoted $17,795 for a B3030 w/FEL and a 5' rotary cutter + tax. I know the mmm is higher than the rotary cutter but it does seem somewhat high for that model.

The stop leak idea is not a good idea. IMO

If it is just a seep as you say it realy is not a big deal. If it is a faster leak, it becomes more of a pain as it is messy and you have to add oil constantly.

Just returned from a NH dealer and got the following prices for a new TC33DA with super steer and R4 tires w/ 15LA quick attach loader and SQ600 rotary cutter.<br>

This tractor has been setting on the lot for several months. He told me he was getting out of the small CUT market and was making me a great deal. The tractor seemed fairly reasonable but the loader seemed very high when I have compared it to others. Would appreciate any opinions or experience in this area. I really like the tractor but was thinking more in the 20k area. am I unreasonsable? since he trying to get rid of this model I was thinking more in the 14's for the tractor and 3's for the loader. I already have a price from another dealer on the cutter for under 1k so I'm sure he would match it. My budget is limited so if he is pricing it right I don't want to waste my time.

Do these prices seem reasonable

I'd have to disagree with Murf in some ways. A properly setup quick hitch with compatible implements couldn't be easier, and with a top-and-tilt setup you can pluck implements off the uneven ground all day long. On level ground it's back up, lift, turn in your seat and latch. On uneven ground you back up, adjust the top-and-tilt to line it up, lift, turn and latch. Of course you will have to get out of the seat to hook the pto shaft up if required. And it may not be cheap getting to this point. I can swap an implement in a minute or two even on uneven ground.

That pretty much covers it.

The only point I would add is to check the depth of the topsoil before you start and constantly while tilling.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is tilling deeper than the topsoil layer. All this does is bring up sub-soil and blend it into the existing topsoil thus diluting it.

I think the price is OK, but the promo plans today are tough to beat 36-months, 0%, so you have to factor in the difference in finance charges, assuming you might need to borrow some dollars for the purchase. As for the machine, well I just got rid of my 2210 and purchased a brand new one and it arrives today. Absolutely no issues with my former machine and needless to say, I think they are wonderful machines. I personally think the 2210 is one of the best bangs for the money within the JD line.

Beagle, I actually have read some of your posts before & so I got the telescoping arms when I ordered the tractor. They ordered the parts using b2910 parts. I'll check your posts again for more ideas. Thanks for sharing-how did you figure all that stuff out? my biggest challenge right now is getting the 5'mmm off and on. I can't believe you actually DRIVE OVER IT! to get it on & off. What a tuff mmm! I had no problem taking the FEL off & on-actually easier than the 2200. the manual says don't lower the foldable ROPS often, but I'm gonna need to to get it into my barn. Do you think that could be a problem? Thanks again Beagle, Art, & everyone who's contributed!!

Every 10 or so operating hours (this is from memory,not the manual so check your manual in case I leave somethingn out)
Check fasteners and lug nuts/bolts, tighten if loose
be sure radiator is clean (blow from fan side with compressed air
Greese all zerk fittings
at 35-50 hours
Change engine oil and filter (this is critical)
check valve lash
torque head bolts (do not loosen first)
Change fuel filter
clean air filter & re-oil (TY290 engine has oil bath type)
check hoses and belt condition upgrade from chinese if necessary
If you have not done it, change hyd oil to 10w Aw32 or R&O.
at 100 hours you can change the gear oil.

I have the separate gauges...
I traced the problem to the sender
unit. I noticed the nylon gromet
under the single wire screw was
rotating when I tried to unscrew the
wire. When rotating I found a spot
where it works.
After removing the wire, digital ohms
was 20-40 Kohms.

Interesting, with the motor running, I
grounded the wire and the gauge went
up and the motor idle speeded up...

Question, I see no way to grasp the
sender to unscrew it.

I have a TC33D and the other day my neighbor ask me if I would try and plow his field he has a plow but no tractor. I have never pulled a plow but was ready to try. He has a two bottom plow. I pulled with really no trouble at all low range and 4WD and it moved right thru. Like you I was looking for more ground to plow.

I read in a couple of places last week that the hybrid Highlander will be out next month with a combined 28mpg city/highway so anytime after that might be a good time to start looking for one with a conventional engine. I bought my wife a new 4-runner in March for 3% over invoice which I thought was a pretty good deal. I kind of wanted to wait on the hybrid Highlander but my wife liked the way the 4-runner handled over the Highlander so I gave in to her wishes. We have 2000 regular cab Tundra with almost a 100K on it and a 95 Tacoma with a 125K, no problems with either one. Only downside to them is that they are not big enough to haul our grandkids around, thus the need for the 4 runner with a 3td row seat. Good luck with your purchase.

You seem to put a lot into the TLB end of the unit and for that the Kioti would be more in it's place with it's additional weight. The Bx is more of a swiss army knife with it's options and flexibility. I know you would enjoy the B-21 Kubota for your work. I do hope you enjoy your tractor keep us informed of how it goes! Good luck with your new dealer.

Matt, these are my thoughts on looking at your property although I should ask a few questions but just correct me if I might be wrong. One to two acres might mean a well detailed lawn with a lot of obstacles to mow around like flower gardens or shrubs and trees which would mean a highly manuverable mower. It might be wise to consider an economicle zero turn mower about fifty plus inchs of width for the lawn. You might want to look at the Kubota L-2800 hydro with loader for a long term larger tractor. This would give you a more long term investment that would add some flexibility to your equipment. Lawn mowing should be light and the rest is heavy work. But if there was an ideal single tractor the large B series is the best of both worlds with the 72" deck.

The JD machines hace a few beels and whistles on them that make them a little more pricey. You should take a good look at the details, and decide what you need and what you want to pay for. The manufacturers all have different subtle differences to the way they do things. The Kioti CK series is probably the most comfortable, the JD's have e-Hydro, the Kubota's tend to have the best power to weight ratio, and so on. Make sure you sit on and operate the different brands. They all will feel different.

And for sure, you need to make sure the dealer is reputable. When I finished my research, I was leaning toward the Kioti CK, but I couldn't get comfortable with the dealer. He was a complete *$$ to me. I bought Kubota.

I recently purchased a Taylor/Pittsburg three point hitch backhoe which I use on a John Deere 990. I believe it is a model 766. I have been quite satisfied thus far. I expect the main problem most people with have with these machines will arise from expecting too much from them. Just as the front end loader on my tractor will not substitute for a bulldozer, the small backhoe will not perform like a Case industrial backhoe/loader. But it will dig dirt like a gopher and will get the job done if one is prepared to spend the time necessary to do it.
