I plan to use a Woods rear finish mower, 72 or 84 inches. I realize I don't need the TC48, but I really like the 35 or 40. I probably could get by on the TC33 BUT for the extra price difference of about $1800 to go to the 35, you get a lot more tractor!

I recently had a large pond built (surface about 2.5 acres) and am having a problem with moss/algae growing in it. The bottom has a great deal of sand, so the water is pretty clear and the moss is out of control. Has anyone had experience in moss or algae control in large ponds?<br>

I am pulling a 60" w/my B7610 (24hp) with loaded R-4's and LA352 FEL. With proper ballast, you will have no problems. Need sufficient weight up front also. The boxes vary a lot in weight, sideplate thickness, moldboard height and internal volume. Check all of that out, they are not equal.

Our local utility company (PSNH) had details on-line which required conduit for our 550' pull to our transformer. From that point we elected to place the meter near the transformer (i.e. not on house) and continue with a 140' pull & conduit into the house.

The utility inspected the conduit in-place before backfilling. So its probably up to the electric utility re: direct burial. I'd say go with conduit and maybe 1 or 2 intermediate pull-boxes.

I'd be looking quite closely at the seats as recommended. I don't really see how it could happen. There normally are good size seat diameter differences between the two valves.

I'm a school administrator at a small school. The kids and parents laugh and smile when they see me, tie and all, sitting on the schools Kubota 3130 sanding and plowing the walkways, mowing the lawns or doing whatever. Those who have to ask why I don't have the buildings and grounds guy do it have obviously never "worked" with a tractor! Now if I can only justify the school's purchase of a backhoe or small excavator I might never have to sit in my office again!

I'm in the process of building a new house. I am very traditional, hence "knew" I would only put down real wood. My wife dragged me to look at some laminate flooring last weekend and my mind was changed. What did it for me was three things. First, we budgeted for strip oak. For the same price we can have some really nice, rustic, wide-plank patterns in laminate which will fit the house better than strip flooring. Second, we have three children, 2 months to three 1/2 years old and are getting a dog. Having grownb up with wood floors (and having them now) I know haow hard it can be to keep them looking nice. Laminiate flooring has a harder, more durable finish. And third, we're building a house we plan on living in forever. Flooring is something we will probably change over time. Maybe when the traffic diminishes we'll put in the wide pine flooring we both like.

And I, too, will be paying to have in installed. There's only so many hours in the day, and right now I just don't have the time. Until I had kids I never knew how much time they required!

I bought a BushHog SBX60" box scraper for my B7610 which has a little more power than yours. It was more than it wanted until I filled the R4 tires and put a FEL up front. Fine now. Smaller bites are impossible pulling stone over distance. It will fill up the box. Use 4wd and low range. If your tractor starts to bog down, don't press the pedal in all the way, keep your rpms up around 25-2600 and feather the pedal, mashing it will work the machine harder and it will pull less wieght. That is how HSD works, not like a car or truck.

I have a B7610 and bent the factory top link pushing snow (hit concrete barrier!). The Kubota dealer said it would cost $100! He showed me one identical to yours in the picture (except longer) that he ground to fit my tractor and it cost me $23 and is much, much easier to adjust (no wrenches) and much stronger. It doesn't have a zerk fitting, but white lithium spray seems to work fine. If they had replacement lower link arms that adjusted this easy also, I would change mine out. I think the top link is made in India.

I agree with the box size. I have a new 24HP B7610 and while pulling a SBX60" BushHog box blade, I would lose traction while half full with stone or dirt. I had three suitcase weights up front, and until I loaded the rear tires with water/antifreze, no traction. What a difference ballast made! I have stone overfilling the box top and still pulling in low range 4wd just fine. I just added a LA352 FEL, that helped quite a bit more, these CUT are quite impressive. Ballast is the key period if you have sized your implements correctly you will lose traction first if not properly ballasted, not power. "DOC Kubota" made these recommendations to me, and he is very knowledgable.

My 4.8 vortec slaps slightly when cold. Synthetic has helped but not cured it. After about 2 min. it goes away. I have 125K on my 1999 chev. The slap in minor not major IMHO.

When those engines were designed they did not know what multi grade was or the design. Go for a straight weight 30 for summer use and if it is a good oil designed for farm duty or continual full throttle chances are the problem will go away.

DJLX, I've got the I-Match hitch on the back so maybe that adds enough that I won't need to break out the Sawsall.

BTW, what is the size of the trailer in your picture? I'm looking at a 14ft model but yours looks like it might be 12ft. Am I close?

If you grease on the recommended intervals any #2 high "PRESSURE" grease will work for your loader and any pivoting points. for high speed rotating parts such as mower spindle you will want a high temp grease. Grease has to meet certain standards to reach each grade so buy the most expensive #2 high temp grease will not on most cases make any difference than buying a lower priced grease of the same grade. You will probably use more grease than oil so there is in my opinion no need to go broke buying it. Just follow the manufactures time charts.

What is a flail mower you say, hmmmm, this could be interesting.

I guess the best way to describe them is to say they are very much like a rototiller, except where a tiller has curved tines, a flail cutter has many small knives connected to the rotating bar by a single link of chain.

In operation the the knives are sun around on the shaft at a terrific speed, they have a tip speed of about 9,000 FPM, anything they contact gets the Ginsu treatment, there's just a million tiny chips left behind.

They will NOT slice through a sapling as a rule, but they do defoliate and strip the bark killing the tree. IMHO this is a better deal since you don't have a tiny jagged stump poking up waiting to get your tires or whatever else either.

As I explained, they are a lot more money, but they cant turn a piece of debris into a missle like a rotary can either.
