The tractor is new and not a return. My other question, is the 3120 a better investment than a 4210 (which is out of production)? I can get the 4210/loader for $18,232 OTD? Thanks.

I bought a Frontier Model 1060 60" Finish Mower from my JD dealer at the same time I bought my 790. I have used it one mowing season with excellent results. It seems as indestructible as the tractor. It would lift the front of the tractor until I added weights to the front but with a loader installed you will not have that problem. I plan to add a anti-scalp roller to the mower. Seems like it was around $1700.

This is second hand info, but is proably correct:
Transmission: JD303, 11L (11.6qt)
Engine: diesel rated, 1.9L (2qt) the person that posted this was using Rotella 15w40
Coolant: 25% antifreeze MAX, 2.7L (2.8qt)
Oil Filter: Napa 1064
Fuel Filter: Napa 3262
Air Filter: Napa 7-02701 or 7-02203 both of which are 1/8" too short. He used a piece of rubber hose to help it seal.

I saw a JD650 (private sale) today with a FEL and in fairly good shape. it had 630 hours on the meter,tires looked good,paint was good for the most part. the asking price was $7500. I dont know if it was a good deal or not.

At a rate of around 1.30 per hour for each 1000.00 spent on the machine, you should be able to figure what you can do with what machine and compare it to other machines larger or smaller, work to dollar hour comparison. Which one would you hire at what price? You need to define what you are going to do, mow,hoe, bucket work,till, and compare work done to dollar hour also. You might take two hours to till a certian garden at 27.00 when a larger machine can till it in 1 hour, deeper and more thorough at 40 per hour.Can a machine your looking at take this kind of use, what will be the repair cost compared to the other? If you are going to narrow your work down to a couple of chores like tilling, can you till a garden for someone in an area that has not been sod busted before? If you are going to narrow your job description, don't get a machine that will narrow it even further by saying, no I can't till that because it is very hard rocky ground or my tiller only cuts so deep. No I can't grade your driveway because it is too dry and hard now, should have called me during the first week after rain season. Just things to think about. As my father said, always buy the best, you'll never be sorry. Not always the biggest, but the best for the job.I hired a JD 790 with a tiller to break up a field that I was going to remove the top soil from and build a house. He compained about how rocky it was and hard on his tiller. I noticed when cutting the soil off that the tiller didn't cut very deep and I also notice that when I was removing the soil, in places 2.5 feet deep, that I could cut it right off and load my bucket full with just pushing power, there where very few small rocks, mostly garden loam. A larger machine would have tilled it much deeper,faster, and never felt a rock.It was about as nice tilling as you could get for untouched field.

Rather than a GC2310, I just purchased a GC2300 with an OEM FEL & MMM, with a Woods GB6000 BH. I liked the specs, bucket, and construction of the Woods BH better than the Massey BH.
Woods BH subframe seemed well engineered, and they definately provide a better revolving seat than the 2310. The non folding ROPS on the 2300 presents no problem with the Woods BH unit. Other than that the base tractors are identical so I would say you can now always add BH later to most CUT tractors.

All Right!!! I took delivery of my new 2005 L 3400 with box scraper and loader yesterday. I unloaded it today and gave it the first test. It was great. The only negative is when raising the box scraper the machine really jumps. It is not a smooth lift, it's real jerky. I lowered the tire pressure (industrials) to 20 psi and also fiddled with the flow control below the seat but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Also, when I called the salesman on his mobile(closed on weekends) he said Kubota sent them some kind of recall, but he hadn't read it and will Monday morning. Anyone heard of a new Kubota recall? Thanks..Randy

I am getting a newer 50 HP tractor and the dealer will give me a good deal on a QUICKE (brand) loader. It appears to be made in Canada. I don't know anythgoug about them but it looked pretty stout & easy to swap implements. Any Quicke users here - recommendations please.<br>

I purchased a Woods GB 6000 BH for a Masey 2300 with Massey FEL (rather than 2310 set up...liked woods hoe better). Does anyone know an aftermarket site for pads. Woods OEM option is pretty pricey (250. set retail) Also any any other pad info. Thanks

I am using a compact tractor (Kubota B7800) to mow my grass as well as to maintain a dirt bike track. The property the track is on is littered with rocks that seem to appear as fast as I can pick them up. It is still rideable but painful when you are following somebody. I use a King Kutter disc to turn the dirt over a back blade to smooth it out. However, I wondered if an economical rock picker exists for compact tractors? I know the local shop that rents equipment had a bobcat and a rock hound but nothing for a tractor. The rocks are usually the size of a hand or smaller. Any suggestions on how well rock pickers work or other implements that may work are appreciated.<br>

Plots1, Yeah you are probably right. I had a big roll of 4 - 12 leftover from wiring electric heat but he said that wouldn't be heavy enough. He had to run it about 55' from my box to the NEMA 6-50 receptacle and it looks the same wire as the electric range is on, so maybe the distance involved he played it safe.......with my safety and now his money!!

The price of steel recently took an upward spike, and so did trailers. Your price range might be closer to $2k now as a result.... unless you can find one that was made with last years steel.

Also, around here 16 foot is the standard size and 14 foot is considered a custom order and priced higher.

I currently own a Kubota, but I'm looking to upgrade and ran accross this MF1225, HSD, 4WD, PS, 60"MMM, and frame for FEL. It seems like a solid, well built tractor. It was a repo and looks like I can get a terrific price. Does anyone have opinions on this unit, pros/cons? I have a good background on Green and Orange, but I need a little help on MF.<br>

I wasn't gonna chime in but do feel the need.

Playing on a tractor for a couple of weekends might sound real cool for those with out one or that haven't spent a lot of time on machinery. However spending hours doing something that "HAS TO BE DONE" when there are other chores or family things to do will get real old real quick.

Get the tractor that will allow you to mow in less than 8 hours, and I'll bet in less than 2 years you will be fussing on how to do it quicker or wishing you had got a bigger machine.

Of course if you are wealthy and do not work and only need to play then go for small and enjoy.

My lawn takes about 4 hours to mow with a 35hp 4400 JD and a 72" landpride. I'm looking to see how I can do it in 2. Week end free time is valuable to me and I have lots of stuff to do besides sit on a compact a 1/2 day every weekend, mowing. I put over 350 hours per year on mine not counting my old tractor, so it does do lots more than just mow.

I like the batwing option...A professional 72" out front mower is currently a serious consideration.

A lot of ppl over on one of the Dodge Cummins boards really like the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo tire.. But most ppl there are running LT tires in a E (or atleast D) load range, and I dont know how a lower range would compare.. But atleast this gives you another idea..

The bare tractor alone retailed for just under 13,000 and I've see them just under ten by themselves with no loader or attachments but I'm unsure of the hours.
