I may be a little late in posting but if you look at my pics #3 you will see my 2210 on a homemade 2 axle 5x12 trailer. This doesn't show the tiller but I can fit the 2210 loader and tiller on this trailer but the bucket needs to hang over the front a little for tongue weight. Actually the width is 62" between the fenders and I have a 54" mmm so everything works out but just. If it had been a 6 X 12 then I could have gotten the 62" mmm.
I am glad it is a 2 axle though and it has electric brakes on one axle. With the tractor on it my Durango knows it's back there!

From my viewpoint, I would have to agree with Art and suggest going a little larger. I think atleast in the 4010,4110 or 4115 series, time is money and being able to do jobs faster/easier would seem to be a consideration for a small business.

My father told when I was starting my business that I needed to remember to direct & delegate.

Then as I was getting older, and started having back problems, he told me to start working more with my head, and less with my brain.

Now I've pretty much figured out the part I missed.

My back defers to my brain, my brain directs & delegates my wallet on how best to accomplish the task.

The work is not nearly as hard now...... LOL.

Your response was encouraging. I did not even know it was an option until going though the manual. I saw the slot there (on the inside of the right hand fender), but was unaware of what it was there for. Shoulda known, huh?

Had not thought about the rotation there for a rear-mounted snow blower, but it makes sense. There just is not that much snow here to justify a snow blower. But I could think of other uses other than a top link in the future.

I talked about a top link during the discussions with the dealer prior to plunking my money down. I was not stressed about it, it was just one of the topics we talked about. I highly suspect that he was not aware of the option. The majority of the equipment on the lot was, or was for, larger tractors; the NH TZ24DA and the Case IH DX24E (which I have now) were the smallest ones on the lot that I saw.

I really appreciated your response. I think that it will get done with the 50 hr service.

I would disagree with this. Not that angry digruntaled UAW guys don't do their share of screwing things up, but in this case it is a poorly designed piston with too short of a skirt. GM just won't suck it up, admit to the poor design and fix/change it.

Now I usually like short skirts, but in this case its a bad thing. :)

Even if it was a straight tipped muffler, no rain will enter the pipe while the engine is running. The exiting exhaust pressure will prevent rain from entering the exhaust pipe of a running engine.

I found out the hard way when I wnet to<br>

to ride up. I was only able to transfer it to<br>
my trailer by backing up trailers and letting<br>
his ramps go to my deck.<br>
I was able, at home, to reverse the front wheel<br>

ramps. And I have since reversed the rear rims<br>
to move the rear spacing from 48" C/C to 55" C/C.<br>

operation? Are there advantages to keep it wide or<br>

I plan on using a 4' Brush hog, 6' back blade, and<br>

The older K series rip through them like crazy. They just get plain eratic and won't run regardless of adjustment. they wear and then I guess it sucks some air or something, Knight's power Equipment turned me on to this a few year back and saved me a lot of grief.

I'm with Art on this one. An 8' mower is not going to get the job done quickly enough. The highway dept around here uses open station Kubota M9000's with batwing style bush hogs to cut the medians and shoulders about 3 times per season. I'd get a Cab model M-series for comfort and a finish mower for better cut quality, but go with as wide of a swath as you can afford. A 12' model would realistically take a full 8-hour day to cut 43 acres, 15' would shave off a couple hours.

Well today I really put this 29 to test with 5' box blade.
So far I am impressed, but you could tell it was all the 29 would want to handle in hard ground

The three point hitch set up is very nice compared to what I was used to.

Also this thing will cut grass as well as anything I have see.

I really don't have much experience with tractor this small but I was surprised with how much these little tractors will pull.

Talk to a JD dealer who has seen the damage with the 48 hoe vs. the 47. Talk to the guys in the shop, not just the salesman. Ask them about fatigued rim flanges and wallowed out holes. My dealer has seen and fixed these problems, and that is why they won't mount a 48 hoe on a 4310 without welding on additional support. They don't do that on the larger framed machines. Maybe they are being conservative - I'd be interested in what other dealers say about it.

I recently purchased a new JD 4310 with ehydro, 4wd, cruise, wet brakes, 3 hours, R4 Tires, dual control values and etc, and paid $14300. Add another $3500 to $4000 for the loader and you should be around $18,000 PLUS TAXES. I wouldn't given them a penny more than $19,000.00.

Yes, it's a good tractor and the Yanmar Engines are rock solid. Don't ever let anyone tell you different! You won't be sorry,

IMO and this is from experiance!!! THE MORE GROUND YOU REMOVE, THE MORE MONEY IN GRAVEL YOU MAY HAVE. Take a real good look at your GRADE before you remove existing ground. Shoot your grade first. You probably want that building UP atleast a foot and more than likely 18" or more.
I had a side hill where I put my garage. For what ever dumb reason I removed (dozed) it flat and did NOT level with the removed soil. Thinking I was going to swale it. a year later and 100 yards of gravel, I realized I messed up. I now have over 3 feet of gravel on the south side of the garage and 2 feet on the North. The garage is 34x28 and the area I had to re-raise is almost 1 1/2 time that big. I had to bring in almost 250 MORE yards of gravel. grand total 350 yards. If I would of let it lay I would of needed less than half that.
Anouther suggestion (and this may not be feesable anymore) If anyone is planning a garage. Bring the gravel base in a year or so early. I had on winter on half the gravel and anouther winter on the other half. This allowed it to settle real nice. Still had to raise one side up so I went with extra thick crete and extra re-bar.
If your going to use a tamper, lat half of your gravel and tamp it. then lay the rest and do it again. If time permits do it in 1/3's three times. You can never have fresh gravel compacted too much.

I have a 2002 silverado 1500 4x4 extra cap and I went with the Toyo tires. They have more meat on them than any tire I've seen and they wear like iron. I currently have 90,000 on the truck. The original Firestones wore out quickly mostly because of a posi rear lock up. They don't tell you at GM that they use a break in fluid on the axle lock rears and after 20K if you don't change it the posi locks on you. I made an appointment for 4 days later and wore the backs right off on the hot july pavement.

I bought the Toyo open country in the stock 265 size. I put them on at 35k and now I have 90k and they are still fine. I rotate them ever 10 and these are the best tires I have ever owned.

I drive about 50-60K per year in CT and we see out share of heat and snow. I have a 7 1/2 foot Boss plow on my truck, I pull a 16 foot trailer loaded all the time and drive as hard as anyone. 75 on the highway and hard on the side roads. I will never buy another tire. I've had Michelins, Good Year, Firestones, BF goodrich, those junk Sidewinders and all of them. They Toyo's are the best. We have a chain called Town Fair Tire around here. They sharpen their pencil if you deal with them. ANY tire place will negotiate. Check out Tirerack.com, this is a great place to buy them and have the local gas station mount and balance them.

I normally don't reccommend a product but these Toyo's are as good as they get.
