It sounds like you have purchased the property for an Investment. The more $$ you save doing the work yourself the further ahead you'll be on an investment point of view. Improving the property will inevitably improve the selling price, but may not improve your investment if you spent a lot of $$ to get there. When you sell the property in 4 or 5 yrs. the power of the dollar will be less because of inflation and that will hurt your buying power for your next investment and if it's reality (of course depending on your area) that will have inflated also. Am I making any sense here. This is only my opinion:)<br>

I haven't noticed anything different about the Honda smoking. It smokes as soon as you start it and doesn't stop even when warm. Perhaps it smokes more upon startup but it's nothing I've noticed. All I can tell you is it's no different than any other tractor. Hope that helps.

Considering the purchase of a John Deere 790 with FEL and adding a backhoe (#7?). I expect to do landscaping type of work (planting trees, small stump removal, drainage lines/trenches) and was wondering how well the backhoe works on this compact tractor. I have used purpose-built backhoes from the Terramite T5 to the CAT 416, but never a compact tractor w/ hoe. The Terramite T5 does 95% of what I need but I like the versitility of the 3pt hitch. How does the JD790 w/ FEL and backhoe compare to the Terramite T5?

Thanks for the reply information. I called the dealer concerning adding power. If possible would you have any pic's of the spool valve mounting for your TnT? I would quess the right fender area might appear (alittle) crowded if your spool valve is located just behind the 3pt draft control lever. Anyway, I would sure like see your setup. Thanks again!

If what you currently have is tolerable, you could also wait for WiMAX. It has been designed for us rural people, and is expected to start popping up around the US this Fall. It is not line-of-site, so it even works when there are small hills and trees in the way. http://www.wimaxforum.org/home

I have rears loaded with CA on the MF135. I had to replace one rear rim since it rusted through. Think the tractor is a 1977 model and replaced it in 2000. Turned out that the tube was folded and pinched near the valvestem. I wouldn't worry about the use of it, even if it is improperly assembled like mine it lasted 23 years.

Does anyone here happen to have an older craftman 18 volt industrial cordless drill? There is a buned out resistor in my charger and I cannot read the bands on the resistor. If I can find someone witht hte smae charger, I could check their good resistor. Thanks for any help.<br>

Its a GST I believe that is a Glide Shift.

Is it common that a dealer could have it for a week before knowing what is wrong with it? Usually if I take my truck to be worked on they know the problem in a day or two. I know that tractor service may be different from vehicle service. I've heard nothing but good things about this dealer but, I have little experience when it comes to tractors.

With almost all 'antique' tractors the problem is the front axle, these machines were not designed with a FEL in place and so they were not built as ruggedly as you would want with the extra loads created by the FEL.

Making it fit & work is not impossible, with a little re-configuring it will work, but again, the front axle will be an issue.

If you want to keep the 'original' appearance of the tractor you might want to look into a rear loader instead.

Mike, we have a L-3010gst at our lowville store with a Kubota loader industrial tires and 80 hours. We are asking 16600. I'd be dropping 1000 for the make of the loader and your blower should be worth about $1000. The hours difference, should be about $2000 deduct. This doesn't take into account if you have any cosmetic damage.

Sorry, no, the battery in my digital camera went bad, it wont even hold a charge long enough to go from the charger to the yard and take a single picture.

I'll get some this week, probably a good reason to buy a new camera anyways.

Don't know anything about the Simplicity. I bought a BX2200 last year after comparing equal NH ($3000 more) and equal JD ($4000 more) and just recently bought B7800 after comparing equal NH ($3000 more) and equal JD ($5000 more). Don't know if my Kubota dealer is that much cheaper (which he seems to be from prices I'm seeing on this board) or the NH and JD dealers in this area are that much higher. I went for Kubota based on the money and have no regrets. I (my wife really)also have a BX1500 which we/she loves to use. At $15000 your probably not far from the B series CUT Kubotas which is a big step up from BX series in every way but mowing.

Which to buy BX2200 Deer 2210 Simplicity XL - they re all about 15k

I messed up! I paid 15,400 not 13,400. The HST is available now in the 3400 model. But still that price with 4 wheel drive, front end loader and HST sound good to me. I can't find a better deal in South Lousiana.
