I bought a new Ford pickup in 98 that came with Goodyear Wranglers on it, I could"nt believe how long they lasted. I traded for a 2000 Ford at about 45000 with the original tires and insisted on the same tire, they were shot at 25000. Identical pickups, drove the same by the same person (Me), basicly hauling nothing but me. Never did figure that one out. Frank.

Have been shopping for some time for a new tractor. Finally have it down between a AGCO 4WD Model GT55 (61 engine, 53 pto) and a New Holland 4WD Nodel TN70DA (70 engine, 57 pto). <br>

The AGCO is several thousand dollars cheaper than the New Holland and seems to have the same features and meets my needs. My question is - (a) which tractor is better overall and (b) is $31000 a reasonable price for the AGCO with cab, loader and 72" bucket???<br>

To the best of my knowledge, my wife's '04 Outback does not have traction control but I believe it is available on some models. That would make a serious difference, along with anti spin differential in the front. <br>

In reality, these cars have considerable ground clearance, more than many SUV's. If you look underneath, the pan is almost entirely flat, covered by skid plates and the drive axles are literally out of the way. The height of the vehicle is somewhat deceptive as compared to an Explorer for example. Look at the pumpkin and straight axle in the rear of that Ford and then look at the Subaru. <br>

For this northern climate, they are the best handling vehicle we have owned. In addition, you will find windshield wiper defrosters, side window, mirror and rear window defrosters. Along with heated seats! This was included in the winter package, why don't they ALL have windshield wiper defrosters??

Sounds like you're really getting a lot of use out of your 4410, they are a nice tractor to run and will do an amazing amount of work for their size. Sounds like between you and your brother inlaw you'll do just fine at making the TNT system work. I use my power beyond for the #48 backhoe. Whatever you plug into the power beyond circit must have it's own releif valves, it's a direct flow from the pump with no releif valve when it's not pluged into the 3pt. With the 4 in 1 bucket on the front and the #48 hoe on the back it makes fun out of digging out small brush and grabing them up to carry away in the bucket. Enjoy, Frank.

Go buy a carb rebuild kit. The rebuild kit will come with diaphragms(2), gasket(2) and needle valve. Install the new needle valve with the float then turn the carb upside down. The float should be parallel the the carb body. Install the new diaphragms and then reinstall the carb. Adjust your air fuel mixture screw all the way in then out 1.5 times to start with. Then turn in or out as needed.

I need to know the weight of the Deere 210 FEL. My manual says the bucket (empty) weighs 153 lbs. But I can not find the weight of the arms - or the full unit with bucket. Anyone know the weight of this implement?<br>

I'm trying to decide on a trailer and want to be sure I've calculated the total weight correctly. I'm looking at 5 x 14 ft Load & Trail trailer unit with a carrying capacity of 2900 lbs and a 3500 lbs single axle.

I bought BX2200 a little over a year ago and it did about all of the things you mentioned you needed. I traded it in for a B7800. It does all the BX does but much quicker and more stable. The B will push and pull without spinning so much better than the BX. From what you have told, I would get the B tractor. You'll find you want to do alot more than originally planned especially with that much land.
I recently did alot of dragging a landscape rake with my BX1500 (or my wife did,it's hers). Frequently backing up and retrying to go and getting stuck (spinning tires). Hooked it to B and it went everywhere like it wasn't even on tractor. No retrys or spinning tires. It just goes.
Also fel is so much better and more stable on B. Would be no choice for me having owned both.

My yanmar 1700 is overheating. Does anyone know if it has a water pump.The light comes on after about 30 minutes of cutting grass. I have checked the water level and antifreeze to water ratio all is fine. I don't see any water movement in the raditor when the motor is running like you do in a car. Any help would be greatful.

Sorry guy, I don't know much about them either, nor did I get any paperwork from the seller. All I know is that it appeared to be well made with good thick steel and was in good shape. The sticker on the hoe said it was made in Jackson or Jacksonville IL. I would think that all the hydraulic pieces are purchased from Prince or White or one of the many companies that make them so getting hydraulic parts shouldn't be an issue. Bushings and pins are most likely standard items so they should be available too. On mine the only ugly parts are the bent over twenty-penny nails the previous owner used to pin the hinge pins. :) I've only used mine a few hours but thusfar it has worked nicely.<br>

For the 4 x 12 section under a roof you could put some larger field stone on a wall about 3 to 4 feet up. The remainder you could put some siding that is recycled plastic that looks like cedar shakes. Or you could also do a split (half) log look and have the support posts made from logs. You could get a chain saw artist over and doctor up the posts for an Indian totem pole look with eagles or bears. If you want any silhouettes on this wall section of wildlife, etc., tell me what you like. I can get them waterjet cut. We can do up to 4' x 8' at the shop.

Funchy, I've smoked the fence with the loader before. It jammed up one of the gates. Wife wasn't impressed when my solution was to hit again from the other side. Fixed it just fine.

It's definitely easier to mow with the loader off. Less protection, but easier. I think the loader would intimidate my wife and I'd end up fixing whatever she hits.

Snowing currently here in central Iowa. Nothing serious, sticks to the grass and that's about it. Makes the black dogs look white. Won't stick around long. Pretty though with the flakes coming down.

Inlaws are supposedly headed this way today... stuck inside, maybe I should clean the toilet for them? Nah, I'll go out in the shop and grease something.

Thanks for the input. I think we are going with TN75 or JX75. Waiting for one deal on a JX which will be taking place today. The pen is just waiting for a piece of paper to sign :) .

Those should be good enough for what we do, but the JX is a little bigger so I hope we can come to a deal with it.

I read through the forums and haven't noticed any major issues with either model.

I was looking at them last night. They do offer it on the smaller units as well. The bigger units have a piece that is about 1/4 thick,so they have made them stronger as the HP grows. I spend too much time reading manufacturer's literature that is wrong. The catalog said it was only offered on the 35 & bigger.

The insulation under a slab is a good idea for heated buildings always. For unheated buildings that will never see a furnace it is a waist of money, (in my area anyway).
I insulated my frost walls inside and out and under the slab in the house. I heat it year round but only at 50 deg. in times when I am not there. Bout Mid Dec. it takes 3 days to bring the slab up to a temp that will help keep the furnace off instead of turn it on. It kills me to get there on a Fri. night and by Sun. morning when I am leaving it finally heats up to a nice warm temp. The furnace heats the house fine but I can't wait till I run the tubes on the floor and finish it off right. Couldnt put in floor heat cause I have a on demand water heater and was planning to pour the self leveling compound over the floor later when I move. I left the trim off for that purpose on the floors.
Garages? I built mine before I joined here. Big mistake!! I had no plans for a tractor that needed a taller garage door. My plans changed and I am stuck with the short doors and the ever danger of creating a unexpected opening in the walls. I have not and will not finish my walls in the garage. The mice will have 5 generations of families peeing and crapping inbetween. I built mine too samll also 28x34. Thought that was all the cement I could afford and stay married especially since I went to a 6" floor with double the rebar. The only benifit to this is that I can have an excuse to build anouther one (right this time)

I'd drive it into my little town and pull up next to those obscenely jacked-up SUVs-- show them a real country offroad vehicle! For some reason the locals like to put their Ford Explorers on lift kits so high you could park a Yugo under it. What's that all about?
