I agree with earthwrks,
I average about 300 miles per day hauling every size Tractor imaganial NEW Kubotas and McCormicks out, and Red, Green, Blue, and others, (some Rusty and some not) back in and in this 4 state area there are more markers than one can count for probably every imaginalable reason , too fast , drunk, sober , just plain stupid!!!

While sad at best there is someone making a profit off of a relatives grief and I get damn tired of this conflicted display of rememberence!!

WHAT EVER HAPPNED TO KEEPING OUR HIGHWAYS GREEN????

One of these days soon there will be a homing device for cheap and you will be able to hide it so you can track down where your rig was stole too. (maybe there is one now out there?) Other than that. While my tractor is still being paid for (IE: under a loan) I have purchased a policy that my dealer highly recomended. Its not cheap but not too expensive either. $10 a month. It gets automatically deducted from my loans monthy payment. It covers everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you can imagine and replaces it with a "brand new" rig or what I paid originally for it, (which ever is cheaper) Also incase you are not imagining LARGE enough when I said everything! If I drive it into a lake, it is replaced. If I crash it down a revine and it is totalled. It is replaced. if a tree falls on it, if its stolen, if its in a fire, if I screw up in any way! It is replaced or repaired (if not totaled). I have a 100 dollar deductable.
I had the choice of just a fire and theft policy for about $7 a month or this one for $10. I think its a no brainer. Hope this helps.

I try to keep mine full to the top line on the stick. There still seems to be enough air in the reservoir to get some condesation in the valves, and some freezing (IMHO). When the air in the reservoir cools with the oil, there is some condensation left behind. The reservoir shouldn't be filled past the top line on the dipstick, or the oil level could intefere with the return flow causing foaming and other problems.

For sure, keeping the oil level to the top mark should reduce the problem as much as possible.

Actually it isn't a 7/8 O-ring fitting, but an SAE-8 (3/4' x 16tpi). And yes I actually have purchased some SAE-8 O-ring fittings from Parker Hannefin, but there is not enough clearance around some of the ports to be able to spin in a standard ELL fitting. Some of these I could use a straight coupling and then bend tubing, but in each case those cause compromises for where I want to route the tubing. In one case, there is no way to get another fitting in at all. A banjo is the only thing that will fit. Also on my Prince LVT valve, all three supply ports (P, PB, T) are lined up right next to each other, begging for a Union-ELL like a banjo. Again I could use two ELLs on the ends and a straight coupling in the middle, or three straight couplings, but the result is that the tubing juts out where it is more likely to get damaged and a banjo would lay down much more nicely.

Yeah I could make it work with a mixture of compromises, but I would sure prefer to use banjos. As I've said before, if all else fails and I need some more, I will just have to make some.

I have and sell the Woods 990 and let tell ya that is one heck of a cutter.

It does not drag down like a straight blade F.M.

Yes it is costly probably about $3500 but it will last forever and of course you have "Woods Care" to back you up.

I see them all but the 990 with the quick change blades and the single duplex belt and unequaled gear box it is a tool.

Now only you know the limits of what you can run and yes a small bat wing would be awesome but if not practical so be it.

You should be able to mow at a pretty good ground speed I ran one behind a DK35 Kioti and she works great.

Yes, high sulfer, off road, ag diesel is all the same thing. My distrbutor used to keep his tank with an "off road use only" on it, but because of some idiots, (he caught 2 guys trying to sneak some into their trucks), he now has stopped that. I will try the idea of the 50 to 70 gal tank. Thanks for the info.

Well we've had our used 4310 HST for almost a year now and have been quite pleased (only 220 hrs. when purchased). We bought a rear blade for snow plowing and that's worked out pretty good. The HST is verry handy for back & forth loading. The ag tires dig in a bit but have only got stuck once, in a swale due to ice. Adding Power Service prevented any diesel gelling this winter.<br>

If I used the tractor for work, then I'd recommend getting several rear hydraulic hook-ups and maybe the front PTO capability.<br>

It sure is great being missed! You folks all know how to make someone feel welcome.

I am not gone, just been terribly busy with job, house restoration and boat refurbishing. Will have the boat ready and in the water this spring finally, after four years of robbing hours here and there to work on her. Had the canvas installed last month, cushions and curtains being made this month.

I lost my dad in April of '03, mother over Christmas, almost lost sister-in-law just after that and two weeks ago my wife broke her ankle. I can't keep up with it all, feel pretty much overwhelmed most of the time. Just keep telling myself things will improve.

What impresses me most is that I don't know any of you personally yet you treat me as family here. What a fine web-site Dennis has!

Had my first at 40. Mother died at69 from colon cancer.
Probably still be with us if she had gotten hers.
I'm due in May for my second one, no sweat, compared to
the chemo. for not getting one.
My biggest discomfort was the three beautiful nurses
with the long black rubber hose. It is a highly curable
cancer if caught in time and the "clean as a whistle"
feels good.

Well, I figured I would give you guys a quick update since you were considerate enough to give me your .02 and time.

The only local blue dealer wouldn't deal. In fact, gave me the highest initial quote I received out of a dozen! Sure they came down when presented with the competing written quotes, but hardly enough to sneeze at. Sorry, I take their 'take it or leave it' attitude as a personal afront, as I had previously purchased a 1620 w/ FEL from them.

In the end, after telling them in no uncertain terms what I thought of their silly high prices and lack of customer saavy, I felt too uncomfortable being in a position to potentially have to rely on them for parts or service. I just didn't want to end up posting another 'horror' story about how the dealer gleefully got his last laugh by sitting on my tractor's warranty work wqhile it rusted out on his lot. So, I got a new tractor coming, but it's going to be orange not blue.

After much soul searching on needs vs. desires, dealer consideration, trips to test work the prospects etc., I went with a B7610HSD (new in crate), 352 FEL w/ grill guard, RCK 60" MMM, R4s, weight box, block heater, arm rests, back light, 50 hr filters/fluids, pickup & dlv for 3 yr warranty period and the hat... $15,600 no tax. Based on out-of-town quotes, I paid a couple hundred extra to keep the selling dealer within 20mins, certainly worth it IMO. Plus, there's even a 2nd Kubota dealer within 5 mins. for emergency parts, etc. if the need arises.

So, thanks again! See ya over on the Kubota boards...
