Pete,

The poster I referred to is on another tractor site. The other interested 2210 owner I mentioned who attended the Ft. Wayne show spent some time with the Woods people, and they claimed the first install would be the better part of a day, and subsequent ones would take an hour. If this is true, the feeling of several of us, is that we would be reluctant to want to use an attachment that would take an hour to put on and then take off. That's why when I saw your post about the toolbox and looked at your bio, I became so interested in your quick-tach set-up. If you were open to it, I would be interested in seeing what you fabricated. I live in Southington, so we can't be that far away. Supposedly Deere has a BH under developement, but that could just be a rumor.

I have the PUMA 64" 3pt snowblower. Bought it from local Mahindra dealer with my tractor (2615). Blower was under $1500. I use mine on 2 runner crush driveways by setting the shoes so the cutting edge is up about 3/4" off my garage floor. Haven't picked up a stone yet. I also made my own cab from angle and plexiglass for under $500. from Home Depot to keep the wind blown snow off me. It is a little hassle driving backwards sitting side saddle. As far as using a blade, I adapted an used 7 1/2' truck blade to my bucket with a turnbuckle on each side and a $15.00 come-along centered and straight blade the driveways when the snow isn't too bad. Takes about 10 min. to take on or off the bucket.

Paul M, You will probably have to pull the driveshaft off the tractor and look closely. I had the same thing happen on my PUMA 64 blower. First of all, I bought mine from the dealer with my tractor (2615) I didn't get 10" into the first snow and broke a shear pin. To make a long story short I broke 4 shear pins within 100', mine came with the wrong shear pins from the factory and I was replacing them with the same grade as what came out. The grade hardness was too low. I E-mailed the mfg. and told them the problem, They E-mailed back with the proper size and grade hardness info. Have not had a break since. I think your pin may have sheared and when the shaft continued to turn it smoothed off the broken pin which is probably still in the hole and you can't see it. Hope this helps.

They are persistant little buggers. The certainly don't understand chat board ettiquete (sp?).

Oh well, hope Dennis doesn't get too frustrated with deleting their sales pitches.

I've had too much experience with Chinese suppliers to trust buying a Chinese tractor. They'll get better in due time, just not now.

LArry, enjoy your new addition to your garage family. 2wd will be fine. I ran that way for 2 years before a 15" wet snowfall did me in. A 4wd may be able to do a tad more, but a 2wd in good shape and a good price is not a bad thing. You'll learn the limits and will adjust. HEck, spending time outside working on your place is a great activity. The 2wd may take a just a touch longer, but time is on your side so enjoy it!

It's really too bad that we as Americans did'nt take the first oil shortage more seriously in the 1970's. Perhaps by now we could by another energy source be less dependent on OPEC. Most everyone was upset by President Nixon when he put the 55 speed limit in force, but first of all id did save lives and also fuel. Even today with the high price of fuel you hear about people demanding higher speed limits and luxury gas guzzlers still seem to be the "Thing". I'm not excluding myself here because I like horsepower and the freedom to go places that I really could do without too. I won't get into the policys of politicians or oil co's, I have opinions yes, but not enough solid knowledge to discuss most of that. Maybe if we all just backed off the throttle by 10 MPH. that would be a little help. Frank.

I have a 60" MM on my bx23, and I think it's enough horsepower. I've never been able to stall the tractor and I'm the kind of dummy who lets grass grow too tall and then tries to mow it while it's damp.

Clearance underneath isn't a problem unless you're driving over lots of stumps/rocks/holes, and then it's just a matter of driving slower & going around the really big obstacles. The only time the deck was in the way was when I was using the bx23 to clear forest.

I have the exact same problem on my old B7200. It basically started because of the way the input shaft goes into the end of the crank to keep it straight. There is a little bearing or something that goes in the end of the crank for the input shaft to ride on. On mine the little bearing thing went bad and rounded out the end of the crank shaft which caused the clutch to get rounded out as well. I thought I was going to have to replace the crank, but after e-mailing back and forth with Ronnie at Tractorsmart.com, I had the input shaft milled down and then had a bearing pressed into the flywheel. It worked like a champ and my brother is still using it today. Even though you replaced the clutch if that input shaft is flopping around inside it is putting the clutch on a bind or something. I would do something quick before you ruin your new clutch
Talk to Ronnie over at tractorsmart and you can even request a parts manual for your tractor which shows excellent breakdowns.

It was your Dad's birthday, not your neighbour's fathers.

Everybody has their own way of memorializing someone close to them. When I was growing up I got on pretty good with my Dad's best friend, they were childhood friends who had stayed close their whole lives, I knew him as 'Uncle Don' even though he was not a relative. He was a kind sweet man with more patience than most. I learned a LOT about life and every subject under the sun from him. He was an avid sportsman his whole life. He passed away a number of years ago and we scattered his ashes at the deer camp.

We still take turns picking up his rifle from his family every year to go the camp, and there's always a bottle of Crown Royal and an extra cigar for him.

Never had the pleasure of the 'inspection' there ...... yet.

However, I can tell you, getting your crotch slit open and a (albeit small) hose stuck up the plumbing as far as your chest isn't very pleasant either.

The doctor said it wouldn't hurt a bit, and it didn't..... until the next day. Then, as I told him, it only hurt if I did anything strenous, like breathing, then it really bothered me.

Oh well, as my grandfather use to tell me, being in pain is not very nice, but it usually beats the alternative. ;->

Hi! Thanks for the praise, but I think we commonly have rather good education in english in Sweden, so my english should be better really, than what it is.

I have read posts about people driving their BX�s through 15-20 inches of snow with their blowers, so I may have caused some misunderstandning in my question, as you say I would need a larger machine than what can pass my gate.

I asked
1. for how small tractor can handle 3-4 inch of snow.
2. the tractor you answer above, how fast can I go WITH A BLOWER on the same one, instead of plow, in some 12 inch of snow?

With a small tractor it�ll take som time, that�s right. But ok, 2 or 3 passes on the driveway, I must count on spending that.

Any answer doing that I can hope afford a CUT? :)
