Any good thing doesn't last for long ie. cheap Bio-diesel. I come from a long line of inventors and tool/die makers. Back in the 1930's my great, great uncle created a "finned disk" that went between the carb. and the intake manifold. It doubled the mileage on a Cadillac of that era. He called a few gasoline companies to see if they would be interested in increasing mileage. They (Mobile Oil) was interested in it for sure! Not because it could save gas, but because it could spell the end of high gasoline consumption---ie., PROFITS. They bought the rights and all the tooling for $3000. It never did make it to market. Gee, I wonder why???

Hijack away! Ok, my turn on the soap box: And you're right every aspect of society is this way. In my "other life" as an engineer my boss told me I would have to take a pay cut. I told her, sure if the executives turn in their WIVE'S company cars--and if she, and her boss, and his boss take a pay cut---I'd be glad to. She couldn't get it through her thick head that I was making the company money, so I told her "I'm the one that makes the company its bread and butter. I do the cost estimating AND the work for jobs I knew were bringing in $450,000 at a time". Bottom line did I take a pay cut? Heck no! In fact, I got three raises after that. You have to stand up for what you believe. People---and especially those whose gain comes from your blood, sweat and tears---will take advantage of you for as long as you let them. And as they say, if you don't like it or agree--go work, buy, or live somewhere else.

Why couldnt bush or congress play hard ball with OPEC? SOmething like announce plans to introduce a BILL for law.<br>
On this LAW we can set up a program that will aoutomatically throw 2 million dollars extra a month into a fund to help produce NON GAS using machines :IE cars, tractors etc.Every month that the price of oil is over $40 a barrel we put extra money into funds to help produce these types of engines?<br>

Mine is not an acre but it is 11' at the dock and there is an island. I pushed all my topsoil off to one side and pushed all the burden out let it dry cuffed it off and re covered with the top soil most of the yard is raised 3' on the far side as you look at my picture.

How are you going to dig it? Bulldozer or dragline? that will have an effect on how you can loose that much soil or to model it into a nice berm or terrace around the dig.

An island keeps a lot of soil from having to get moved and you'll still have a nice deep large pond.

Since last Thur. the local Farm and Fleet stores have the 60" tillers on sale for $1195. I asked and to my amazement she checked for me and told me that the 72" tillers will be on sale from May 4th to the 18th (or there abouts give or take a day or so) For $1455. Thats about a hundred off the list now. So if anyone shops these stores and are buying a tiller get the 60" now or wait till May if your buying a 72". Hope this saves someone some bucks.

I visited the Home Show in Fort Wayne last week and they had a 2210 eqipped with a backhoe, and it ran off of hydro from the rearend. More specifically, if you look under the seat, and though the slot along the slider bar on the right side you will see a "brass colored" type fitting on the top of the tranny as well as a second one and it was at these two points additional hoses were added. So my question is, does anyone know where you might be able to get some of those hoses, because you could do something with that remove hydro port, although it's not advertised that way via deere. I will be contacting Woods today about those hoses, since they made the backhoe?

7018 is a good all purpose rod for welding low catbon steel in any position. The proper rod thickness needs to be considered for producing a good weld without it being a huge hassle. For welding structural shapes that are 3/16"-3/8" thick, use a 1/8 " 7018 rod for starters. Play with the machine setting until you get a good consistent weld pool and profile. There are a lot of different things that effect weld profile and fusion; travel speed, stand off, current, etc. Try to be as consistent as uou can with your trvel speed and electrode angle. You owners manual will give you some good guidance for the machine setting you should start at.

As far as moisture is concerned, the flux on the rod must be dry for it to burn properly and create the proper gas shield. Once a container is opened, it will need to be re-dried after 4 hours. If you keep the container closed and out of the moisture, you may find the rods burn fine without re-drying. To re-dry, put in a 250 degree oven for two hours before using.

than a car's master cylinder - am I wrong?<br>

Allot of the lower end products in your price range may not have the quality and durability that you are looking for. You may want to consider a nice used upper end model from Cub-Cadet or John Deere or a zero turn model. I have lots of used lawn tractors my newest is a Cadet 1864 with 18 HP, 44 inch deck with 3 cannister bagger, hydro and power steering. You may be able to get one of these from a dealer or private seller in your area with low hours in that range.

You may very well be right but I guess I would rather spend the $200.00 for the iMatch hitch as to buy a new shaft every time you forget to do this or do that. I also liked the idea of not having to pull pins etc. every time I want to change the 3pt implements. It is a handy device to have.

HI MY FORD 1210 HAS A SHIBAURA ENGINE AND IT WAS JUST OVERHAULED BY A LOCAL NEW HOLAND DEALER. NEW PISTONS AN RING NEW HEAD.BUT THE PROBLEM IS THEY CANT GET IT TO START CORRECTLY. IT WILL START BUT YOU HAVE TO TRY IT ABOUT SIX TIMES USING THE GLO PLUGS EVERY TIME. ONCE IT STARTS IT RUN FINE.SHUT IT OFF AND IT WILL START RIGHT UP BUT IF IT SIT FOR COUPLE HOURS IT BACK TO STARTING HARD. THEY SAY THE PUMP TIMING IS OKAY. THE PUMP WAS CHECKED OUT THEY SAY NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.THE SMOKE FROM EXHAUST IS GRAY WHEN TRYING TO START CANT TELL IF IT HAS TO MUCH FUEL OR NOT ENOUGH? LOOKED AT FUEL BLEEDING BACK BUT FUEL TANK IS HIGHER THEN PUMP. ANY IDEAS, LIKE TO DISCUSS THIS PROBLEM WITH SOMEONE OR THAT THEY KNOW OF SOMEONE THAT NOWS THESE ENGINE.

Denwood, would you consider making a set of forks (only forks not the tines) for me? I only have a 4110 buy it has the 410 FEL and I have been hoping to build a set for light lifting. We look to be about an hour or more apart, I could look around for a set of Forks. I would need them to either be set at 27" or movable. Would you consider doing something like that? I would gladly reimburse your time and materials, I just don't have a welder or torch yet.
