I think I may of made a mistake yesterday. There is an old abandoned shack (old one loft one room house) and a garage next to my house on a vacant plot of land. I live on a dead end. I saw a guy and gal walking down the road about 20 min. till dark yesterday. I knew they were strangers. I thought they looked suspitious so I watched them till they got out of sight. My wife then called me into the back kitchen and said 2 folk just went into that garage. I got there just in time to see the 20 ish looking guy crawl thru the broken hole in the garage door and the chick follow. Hmmmm Are they going in there to blow some weed??? Are they going to start her on fire???? Nah!! I said, they are too damm old for that. They have to be seeing what they can find to steal! Wife say's, "Well you going over there?" LOL I start to get my boots on ans figure I better get my pistol, I aint as young as I used to be and would just the same shoot someone that is going to kick my ass before take a beating!<br>
Wife say's, " Hey I mean't call the police!" Here I am, in a bind (again) What do you do? Walk over there and tell them to get the hell out? I figure one of 3 things would happen<br>
1. They would run or make up a lie why they were there.<br>
2. they would retaliate later when I am not home on my <br>
house<br>
3. He would get all testy and want to kick my ass, (then I<br>
would have to shoot him) I would go to jail and the <br>
chick would be screwing anouther guy, my wife would<br>
divorce me, my kids would be fatherless.<br>
OR<br>
Do I take my wife's advice and call the police? I figure one of three things may happen if I do that.<br>
1. They would come back later and vandalize my house.<br>
2. They would get a ticket and everything would be done<br>
3. Same as #2 but the 2 people may be just down on their luck looking to steal something valuable to sell for food?<br>
You see I really did not give a crap what they done, its been vacant for ever and there is just some old car parts in there. Hmmm What do you do?<br>
I walk over there and dont see anything (movement or noise) Id take my dog with but she is so old and decrepid she coulnt catch and hurt a blind/death mute rabbit. SO not wanting to stick my head into the garage I walk home thinking they moved on thru the woods. NOPE There they come walking out about 10 min. later (they must of heard my foot steps in the crunchy snow and sat still and were quite.) <br>
Here I am standing on my deck and they see me! They look at each other and keep walking not knowing if they should run or not. They each had 2 steel rims in their hands. Now its about dark. I decide to go outside. I gets in the truck and back out shine the lights on the road. There they are sitting on the rims in the road with a little 5 year old girl with them (I did not see her before). SO what do I do now? They look like they are waiting for a car to get them cause they are a long way from any other road and there was no car parked anywhere I could see. LOL Well I figured they were just hard on their luck and I decided to not do anything about it. NOW Later that night I am thinking! Hmmm , "you dumb ass, they got balls enough to break into a garage, steal something and not worry about me, (he looks like he just got out of detention or something, pretty skinny and scruffy) and I noticed they were smoking! (*Cant be that hard on their luck) Hmmm I better call the police I say's. I look out the window again, they are gone! No car came down the road or anything. Now I am pissed at myself. I get the shotgun and take a walk outside just looking for that darn old cat LOL Dont see anything! I slept about 3 hours last night before I had to go to the picket line at 4am today. <br>
What would of you done? I normally would of called the ploce but felt sorry for them. I may be the one that is sorry if they come back and hit my house!<br>
I should of shot em and let the coyotes eat them (but then again I did not see the little girl) LOL<br>
I hate the position thieves put honest hard working people in!<br>
Was I wrong?????<br>

I don't need anymore projects that's for sure! I have a large hydro walk behind with a velke I cut with but I figure I have this nice Kubota why not get a deck. I know I won't use it much therefore I'm not ready to drop 1600 for a new one. I thought I'd find one by now (looking for 6 months) no luck yet. Spring is coming , hopefully I'll find one within a hundred or 2 miles..Jim

Foot petal control just like a gas petal. Transmission has three ranges or speeds. The ranges are like gears in an automatic transmission and of coarse yo can't always make it to the top of the hill in high gear! Worst part of it is you are supposed to be able to pre-judge the hill and manually stop and put it in the appropriate range,gear unlike a total automatic and then tackle the hill.

The service manager told me they replace the "detent" on mine. Parts cost was $32. It doesn't appear to have been a big deal to fix, though. <br>

I do think there is a problem with these valves. Weak spring or something. We are not alone.<br>

How many hours on the first repair? How many now? Let try for a pattern, and maybe a preemptive fix.

I wish they had put it on mine for me but I found the wires and hooked up my own. There were no connector though , I think the dealer cut connector off and just black taped. I checked other tractors at the same dealer and found the samething .

The only scent the little woman "likes" more than hot oil is the smell of iron powder and welding fumes. With Valentine's Day coming up, I'll have to spend some quality time burning the wire this weekend. Should set the mood just right.

in simpler words...With my GST I only use the clutch when I am in a tight area & need total accuracy as to when I stop & go but other then that which isnt to often I never use the clutch. I usually select my gear (usually 6) & I start out from a stand still in 6 & just operate in that speed & use my left arm to quickly change directions. If I feel 6 is to fast or to slow for the condition I am in, I just quickly tap the shifter lever either back or forward while moving without the clutch. the other nice thing that I like about the GST is that it has a foot pedal excellerator like a car which obviously an HST doesnt have. I love the GST.

Man I miss my grandfather.

Come to think of it, I think that old fart has the right idea, I know he thinks what we do in life is pretty crazy. He told me one time that an office, a telphone and a computer would kill a person. Not that I think he had anything to do with it, but I had a near fatal heart attack less than 2 years later.

Travel, it's the best education you will EVER get.

Personally, I would never buy a gray market. Most of the ones I see are slated as "low hour" units from japan. That being the case, then why are they re-conditioned ?, a low hour unit should not need re-conditioning in my opinion. This tells me they were in pretty bad shape before. I have also heard time and time again that parts for the grays are hard to get. They are certainly cheaper, but confucious say, "you get what you pay for". I think markmartin has learned a hard lesson and that is too bad. I recall going to a web site for grays where they had a picture tour of the factory in Viet-Nam where they were reconditioned. After seeing that, I never ever considered buying a gray and could not believe they thought this picture tour would help sales. Live and learn I guess.

I have bought 3 tractors from him in the past 15 months and what I paid was cosiberable less than any prices that I have seen on this board. Bought a BX2200, BX1500 and now a B7800 with mowers and many attachments. With sales tax for non 100% farm use it's cheaper to buy out of state.

Can someone point me to information on a John Deere 670 compact tractor? I have been searching online for specs and prices for this model and there seems to be practically no info on the 670 - is there something strange or unusual about this JD model?? I'm looking at a 1996 4WD 670 with 600 hours and with a couple implements and also need to know a fair value.

From a business perspective, such a response, worded as it was, would be suicide.

It would have also been all over the news (at least the radio news) for at least a little while if true. Conservative radio personalities would have been all over that one.

I'm not sure. Depends on what I could get for the tractor. I have had for a little over a year now and it has very low hours. I possibly would sell the mower with it.
