The tires on my 2004 4115 are smaller than earlier 4115s. Can I mount the larger tires on my 4115. Where's the best place to buy them?<br>

Is this a sticker on the dash, a sticker under clear plastic, or the whole panel? The plastic panel on my brother's BX22 dash came off. It was only stick on with double-sided foam tape. Some silicone sealant fixed it.

You are doing good so far. There is only one deck available for that model tractor and it is what I call a ground engaging deck. THey are more expensive as they are meant to be run on the ground at all times unlike the suspended decks on the BX series which is the price that you have stated.

What kind of Auto Darkening helmet would you buy? Some have said to get one with 4 sensors so as not to get flashed. Heck I'm to old to flash anyone!

My wife tells me I stink when I come in from "tractoring", Stink after a shower during deer season because I use the unscented soap and usually smell like the deer pee I spray in the air. My 3 year old daughter thinks I'm her hero but I'm sure some day she will tell he boyfriend in late november he stinks too!

Gotta find that break point in their life when they become "my wife". Once you say I do you are done! You simply stink even if you have a gallon of old spice on.

Glad you were able to work it out amicably, all to often situations like that quickly degrade into 'upwind urination contests'. In the end nobody wins those contests, both parties get wet.

My dealer is really good about stuff like that also.

He will often do repairs for parts cost only, provided it's done on an 'as time allows' as a means to provide hands on experience to the apprentices under the supervision of the more experienced mechanics.

This is often the best of all worlds, we get repairs done cheaper, they sell parts, keep a client happy and the younger mechanics get experience they otherwise would not have gotten.

OK, at the risk of starting a battle about oils, am I correct to assume that the John Deere hydraulic/transmission oil is about the same as Dexron ATF? I've been using Mobil 1 synthetics in all my cars, and also in the 4100 engine, and am looking ahead to the 500 hour change interval for the 4100 transmission.

Thanks for the advice Brokenarrow. I have posted in Kubota discussion group, guess I should have done that here also.

I have 5 acres, raise some meat cows (4-5 per year), have to maintain dirt road & drainage ditchs (1/3 mile) plus gravel driveway, AND i want to work the soil to provide better grass for cow (to reduce feed bill).

I was thinking smaller tractor, but this one has has a low price tag. I'm not familiar with New Holland, so I was looking for any weak spots in tractor design.

Like everyone else, I only wnat to buy one that will last until my grand-kid's grand-kids wear it out!

I just got back from a drive by of farm and fleet.
(KK dealer here) No endorsement just the only dealer nearby.
Holy crap! 6' model now $1565. !! OMG!!! (had to throw that one in for my 2 younger daughters LOL)
Its a good thing I wont need it till May, hopefully (and I am sure they will) they will go on sale between now and then. Figure I will get it for around $1395. Last time I checked on the same unit I think it was in Oct. it was in the $1400+ range. I might just bite the bullet if they come out with a credit program no interest and payment till ???when ever. I am thinking of buying all the equipment on my wish list if this happens. I am thinking that steel is only going to go up ( right now am a bit ashamed of myself for not buying last year) So here I sit, NO job and not enough equipment for what I would like. (Not complaining about no job, yes I could go out and get one anytime but then I lose my health insurance. Dont sound that bad maybe beacuse I could get on the new places insurance you say? Maybe so but I have a pre exsiting condition right now and it is still up in the air. They found three lumps in my chest on outside of lung and dont know if malignant or not. They apparently grew from 3mm to 4mm in the last 4 months although that could be a mistake cause 1mm is hard to tell) I am waiting on a cat scan in June to tell the tale. I only posted that so I dont get slammed for saying I cant get anouther job LOL)
Anyway, $1565 for the 6' model? Still not bad and they do look pretty beefy.
Darn!!! Can't wait for spring to break I am getting itchy to get dusty muddy and dirty again!

Another vehicle that diesel lovers may look for is a Mercury Meta that is coming. It is the Mercury version of the new Ford Station Wagon type SUV. I understand it will be a diesel/electric hybrid vehicle. I read somewhere that it will put out 400 lb.ft. of torque in combined drive modes.<br>

In our area, the dealers don't have a diesel Liberty in stock. I drove the regular version and didn't care for it that much. I thought the Ford Escape in the '05 model had more room, better mileage and had a good feel when driving it and with a quiet ride. They made lots of changes from the '04 model. The Escape also has a better crash test rating than the Liberty.<br>

I'm not sold on the idea of a diesel vehicle outside of a big truck and tractor. Definitely will give the Liberty diesel a fair test drive when they are available.

I think no matter what product you use for a topcoat, they should be sealed first. If you are going to restain do that first. Then I apply a sanding/sealer product before topcoat.
You can apply waterbase over oil but not the other way around.
Oil base products will last longer.
If you are not opposed to paint, then a good quality porch deck paint over an oil primer will last for many years.
I put a little fine sand on the treads between coats,
on stairs that may be dangerous.

Boy that is a real shame isn't it! I can understand from purely a business case, but my goodness, just think of all that wonderful hardware getting scrapped. A lot of companies do that and I've never been able to get used to the idea.

The new magnatrac 7000 will do 3.5mph. How fast do you need to go while really working? The Magnatrac will out work a Bobcat in my book because you have implements on both ends of the machine. Often times I'm wanting to multi task a couple jobs while in the area. Can't grade a road and then immediately mow the edges with a Bobcat but you can with a Magnatrac. And a tractor just won't dig like a Magnatrac will.

Another thing to consider about a Magnatrac is that it is light enough to haul by yourself to the jobsite. I had to haul a 9000# Bobcat halfway across Texas this weekend and it was no picnic even with my 3/4 Ton diesel truck. I think it would be difficult to order a Magnatrac that weighs more than 4700#, and that's with a backhoe attachment, front loader and an ice chest full of Lone Star beer.

I'm ordering one soon for clearing brush and cedar from my ranch, as well as fixing roads. I've had it with flat tires and spinning wheels, or the bumpy ride of a skid steer. I should have ordered one last year.

You could also go to SteinerTurf.com which takes you to the Jacobsen website (owner of the Steiner product line). There is a dealer locator section at the bottom of the screen which will let you plug in some distance factors so you will get a wider range of dealers to check with.

If all you plan to do is mow, get the front cut. (I do believe you can get a snow blower for it however.) If you are on a budget and want a MUV (multi use vehicle), get the 2210 with a FEL and attachments for the 3 pt. I am sure that either will make you smile.
