I have a BX1500 being delivered Friday, with the 54-in. deck and a third-party 4-ft. rear blade. This will be my 1st real tractor, after years of getting beat to death mowing my 0.9 acre, rough lawn with a Craftsman 15 hp. Any advice, suggestions, caveats? (I'll read the manual -- probably several times!) <br>

I would go with the 1925. the factory loaders are still available being the 7308. Installation and removal takes only a few minutes then you have 4wd.

Speaking of cRAP, did you see the news of one of the rap label's ehad guy getting arrested for running a drug ring? Guess the jewelry cut off the circulation to the brain. At least the gold teeth with get knocked out easily making him very popular with the men in prison.

I have some on my pic list of one on a TC33DA. It is a little bigger than your tractor but you will get the Idea. You will not want to be taking it on and off though. It takes about 3 hours to install it and you need an over head hoist that will lift the cab up and over your rops. It comes fully assembled "welded" so you can not put it on piece by piece and you are also looking at about $4,000.

Pics 18-20 are of the newly released Woods Ground Breaker X BH6000 Back hoe. It is not pictured with a mower deck but it is possible to have all three pieces on at the same time. Loader BH and mmm.

I'm not entirely sure about that 10% figure, it doesn't make any sense.

Take for example, the only two similar current Kubota models in which one has power steering the other not, the B7410 (manual steering) and the B7510 (power steering).

The 7410 has a single pump and no PS and it has a hyd. output of 3.9 GPM, the 7510 has two pumps and power steering and a total output of 7.0 GPM.

Since the 7510 is only 3 gross engine hp. and 75 or 100 pounds heavier I find it hard to believe that the nearly doubled hydraulic output is for anything but the power steering. That seems to equate to the ratios of the dual pump machines also.

As for open center, that has little to do with where the fluid flows, only how.

After twenty years i have found no proplems with any of the UL approved devices for tranfering power. Now power does return on the neutral but it returns to the source. Also the neutral does not go thruogh the transformer and if you look each house and transformer and most power poles have a grounding wire , which are attached to ground rods or metal pipes going into the earth. if needed i could get into thearoy but we dont have enuogh time for that.My thought is if you hier a good electrician if it is wrong its his fault, also here in NH the power companys will only let you install certain transfer switches

I'm not really familiar with the JD products, but Ibelieve most of the front-mounted blowers are hydraulically raised.

This may not accomplish what you want entirely though since the blower would not stay in the exact height you want if there is even a slight variation slope of the driveway. As the machine goes over an undulation it will cause the space under the blower to increase or decrease.

As for the R4's, they are not as much of a problem with a blower since you are not forcing your way through the snow.

I don't have a lot of problems with mine, and I push an 8' snowplow with it. Mind you I run on pretty flat even ground too for the most part.

JT - This was the original filter with the white NH sticker stll on it at 39.4 hrs. The dealers driver indicated that the other TZ was also on the original filter. If you have a little xtra jingle, I would suggest getting a new, not original brand, filter and a fill-up's worth of hydo oil just in case. You won't be wasting the money for you will need to change them both in the future. Could end up being a weekend saver! Still love my Boomer.

The backhoe we use is the 756 new holland backhoe We have sold alot of these and guys are very happy with how they work. Also we use the tractor hydraulics no PTO pump. The woods ground breaker is what we would put on a TZ tractor

Still no snake. Haven't heard any mice either since I plugged up the suspected entrance. So I have my fingers crossed and my traps set.

I can't get a cat cause the one dog will kill it. She likes to hunt and kill things. She almost go the neighbors cat. It hasn't been back since. Not a bad thing, really...

We find that small CUT's start exactly the same whether they have been plugged in for just 4 hours or for 4 months.

We do not leave them plugged in constantly unless we absolutely have to, if they are calling for snow we plug them just a few hours ahead of the storm.

BTW, as an aside, we have also found that in a pinch, the exhaust of a FORD PSD will warm a frozen machine in an hour or two if it's not too windy or the machine is tarped.

Pass the serial number through JD and see what comes up, they are able to access repair records and ownership you could check these against the tale told by the seller - if anything dosent match up - RUN.

beagle, I did not install the heavier top link but that might be a good idea. It's not super heavy material but maybe being the weak point would allow it to bend/break before doing damage to the tractor itself.

I recently purchased a Honda 6522 and now have second thoughts. It smokes a bit at idle, and only at idle. Unit has 520hrs, engine is clean as a whistle inside and out and runs great but I believe the smoking at idle is not normal. I also have a Satoh BUCK that does not smoke at all, ever, that is what I am comparing it too. Smoke gets better once warm but compared to the BUCK, it smokes a lot. Color is a deep dark gray with a slight tint of blue in there. Should I be worried ? The unit so far has not burned a drop of oil and there is no blo by at all on the filler cap.

OK Dennis, I built a fire, cleared the snow that we got last night, poured a mug full of coffee and finally updated the descriptions for my photos.

In doing so realized a few are kind of dated, so I will update them shortly. There are a few conspicuous absences I will try to fill in.

It has been a long standing problem with JD. If you do a search, try 4300 or 4400 models. One suggestion is to paint a line(nail polish would work) across the bolt and onto the wheel a little. Then a visual check would let you know if it is loosening. My 4300 has so far escaped this problem.
