I always have hearing problems at weddings, Christmas parties, etc. with a band or DJ. My ears hurt for several days. Earplugs are the answer.

I hate rap music. I celebrated when my daughter just told me she now likes C & W. Bought her a new 04 Explorer this summer just to get rid of that speaker box in the back of her car. It only cost me $26,000.00 to get rid of the rap and it was worth it!!

That is not unheard of, best we can guess is it's caused by partly warming it up then turning it back off. As it cools the moisture in the starter solenoid turns to frost and prevents it from engaging the starter.

I know the aforementioned gentle bump or heat both work, but are a PITA.

Steve4300, you are right about the transfer switches being 2 pole, so the grounds are always still connected to the utility wires. Mine is a midwest installed by a licensed electrician and inspected and to code. So if these are ever a problem, it is really a code problem. Before you think Murf is a dummy or just likes to type, remember he is from Canada and it may be different there, as many things are. Heck they even had the flu shot and we couldn't get any. As far as overloading one side of the generator? Doesn't every single person who hooks a 220 generator to a breaker panel, in any manner, that also uses 120 circuits, pose a slight risk of that? When you energize a breaker box with 220, you energize both poles which alternate breakers as you go down each column. If by chance it happens that every other 120 breaker is used at the same time, it could load one side. Other than proper planning of breaker placement, is there any other way to reduce this slim possibility?

Brokenarrow, my problem is I don't know how deep the good soil is burried. There is also a lot of trees planted there now that I don't want to risk damaging their root systems. I can carefully work my way around the trees, but a wholesale soil removal is not much of an option. Besides, if I go my route, I get a tiller for the tractor. If I don't, then I am stuck using the equipment I already own. I do want a tiller pretty bad.

Yooper, I know the feeling. I put $550 into my 2000 F-250 in December. The rear end blew out a seal where the drive shaft enters. Made a mess on the garage floor. But, $550 at 127k miles isn't bad. Heck, the original tires had tread on them when I replaced them at 93,000 miles due to a nail in the sidewall.

My truck has been good to me.

The starter is a pain. My old Ford Ranger did that one day. BAd supplier on the starter resulting in the electrical studs rusting out.

Grassgod, I've used a snowmobile helmet in winter since I got my first tractor. The wind can't get through the fiberglass! But I do get a bit sweaty in there, but it's better than frost bite.

I may look dorky with a bright orange helmet on, but I'm warm when many others are not. I've gotten frost bite on my face before. It's no picnic. Besides, with the orange helmet, I get to tell my wife that's where the body will be if something goes wrong.

Guess I thought they used 2 drive shafts like the 47 blower. You can position the front and mid drive shafts in any position on the spline shaft possibly causing the U joints to be out of alignment. this can cause a drive line vibration.

TZ dumped it's oil this weekend due to the seal on the Hydraulic filter failing. Dealer also needed to pick up another one with the same condition. Anyone else had this issue?

I got mine stuck in the snow while it was chained up on the rear.

It would not spin the wheels in reverse. I could have extracted myself going downhill in reverse, but it simply would not turn the wheels in that direction.

After 5 days at the dealer, they were told by Kubota that it is designed to have limited power in reverse. I have no idea why they would do this, but that came from official sources.

Based on our experience, other than being able to stick your head out over the fender, there is very little difference with or without a cab.

That may be different with cabs that have large pillars or areas of sheet metal instead of glass.

The visibilty with the factory Kubota cabs is excellent, both doors and the front window have indivdual vents to keep them clear and the two back corner windows and rear window have electric defroster strips. There are wipers front & rear. The rear corner windows flip open for ventilation and the rear window flips up wide open. The factory cab also includes A/C which can be run to dehumidify the air in the cab, and there is a fresh/recirculate air intake selector as well to further help with dehumidifying.

Just as a point for thought, our fleet is a mixture of factory and aftermarket cabs, mostly just because they only bring in so many cab-equipped units in any given year. Dollar for dollar, the factory cab is a better deal IMHO. You get a better cab for nearly the same money, and get the 'extras' as a bonus.

If I had an existing tractor I was thinking about putting a cab on, I would seriously look at selling the existing unit and buying a new, factory cab equipped unit.

These units hold their value so well it is amazing how little it sometimes costs to upgrade to a new unit.

Doc, you said you had a B7510 that was in acrate with a clogged filter.

I am guessing you mean a new unit being shipped in.

How is it had fuel in it, they are shipped dry, as required by law for safety reasons. They only get fuel added when they are assembled.

22K For the ls 170 full cab heat weights forks low profile bucket and more. Think I need to wait to see if we go back to the job. Last qoute I got with the dicsount was 18,900. 22 is a bit steep but well worth its price.

That is a good choice. For all around inexpensive but strong welding the AC/DC stick will do most anything you desire.

Got my Super C re-sleeved, head bead blasted; installed new pistons and bearings and put it all back together. I've run it a couple of hours since then, but because I don't have the garage space, the tractor is tarped outside; the body and paint work is going to have to wait until spring.
I'm hoping to have it done for plowing season. You have any plans for your Ford?

You are so right about the smaller atv. I have a recon and have a blast on it. My buddy has to back up and either go over the sapplings or screw around back and forth out in the woods (with out snow) I whip the little light thing around and keep jammin. I am a smaller guy so it aint so bad. Only thng I miss is the independant suspenstion. The old body is not as young as it used to be but you cant beat a small toy for fun!

Well you know 2 of the government's jobs: protecting us from ourselves and lining their own pocket at the same time. In my state, the drain rule was explained to me as once water of any sort enters a drain of any sort, it becomes wastewater and must be treated like it is full of turds. They probably tied that in to having a permenant supply tied in, but I have not heard of that here. I am under the impression you only tie in to septic if there is a drain present. We have a sort of unspoken rule here that if the project is minor(something that may not obviously need a permit), you just do it. Then the codes officer finds you and nicely says,"You need to get a permit for that". You say "ok I'll go get one". Then he says "no problem". We needed a permit to put up new drywall where it was water damaged while rehabbing a house , They caught us, got the $400 for a permit, never inspected afterwards. Another rental had a roof, it wore out, we put new shingles on, they said we need a $200 permit for that "home improvement". I say it was repairing an existing roof that was damaged not an improvement. They want their 2% and no inspection, so it's not like they are looking to make sure it is done right. When we settled on a couple houses last month, they told us there was a sidewalk issue. If there is a crack, you must replace to settle. Well there were several so to get out CFO's, we replaced them. Of course you have to have a permit, but they missed us on that one? It is almost a game sometimes.

With all due respect to all owners. My kids god father has had 4 different named loaders in the same amount of years. One was a large bobcat 1 year used but all others have been new. (he is a logger living on robbing peter to pay paul) 1 year no intrest no payments then he sells or trades in and takes the hit just so he has no payments till after break up. Anyway he has got rid of the Gehl. Says he does not like it, tips way to easy and thought it would hold up better for the size of it. I have no experiance with this brand so dont take what I am saying as coming from me. Just passing on his info. I will be buying a new holland this summer, have always like the dumping on them and I get a discount so that seels the deal for me.
The bottom line is your machine has to do the job you ask for it to do. If it does thats all that matters besides reliablity. Anouther friend has a gehl and has had NO problems with it for 3 years. So sounds like they could be very reliable?
