I still have not finished my old ford. Al it has needed for 6 months is the new oil lines and put the tank on the hood along with mounting the side panels. Just cant get motivated again. Maybe the winter will warm enough for me to get a fire under my ass again

Aint that the truth! I know we are not getting any younger but the snow still brings out the best in all people around here. Some one is stuck and there is help around the corner. When it is 75 outside and your broke down not a soul stops to help! LOL
True story of last weekends storm. The day after I was taking my family out to supper about 6pm. There was a snowmobiler stuck in a drift with only one kid helping him get out. NOT! I stopped and the wife said I was goofy. Jumped into the snow and we both lifted while he nailed it. Almost took the kids arm off but the guy was very thankful. He and his buddy then took off.
On the way home, in the exact same spot there was anouther guy stuck. This time I kept going, for I saw 3 more sleds coming from the east down that trail. I think they were all having fun!???
I can't stand the cold anymore but if we have snow I love it. Think a full cab would be nice though when I move (STILL)! LOL

I think you should ask youself what you really want.
Sounds like you want a nice lawn? Right? I have played the game that has been mentioned adding subtracting piecing in etc. Life is too short! If you can afford it, I vote for stripping that clay crap out, get back down to the natural base that was there before. Now strip that out and make a nice pile. Lay the clay back down and roll and pack and level. Now go back to your top soil (which will be mixed a bit with the clay anyway you look at it) Lay that back down and level. Then if you want to haul in the new top soil you may need go for it. I have the exact same problem at my second home. My ground level is too high for the grade of my house. (after I added top soil) My plan is to remove the new top soil and pile it. I am planning to build on to this house this year so I will start fresh and this time do it myself the way I would want my yard.
Hey I dont envy you, it is alot of work even on a machine. I vote for you to get it done in one year and enjoy it's looks the rest of your summers there?

A cylinder repack kit is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new cylinder. I would try the repack kit first. You should disassemble the cylinders first to verify that they are servicable. If the plating is deteriorating and flaking off and or severe wear or grooves are present; then I can see going with a new cylinder.

I am not promoting breaking the law, but Geez, whats the difference if you run a darn hose from the hose to the garage (No drain needed with that?) or if you have a spicket in it (without a drain?)? Is it worry about runoff from toxic materials? If so you would have to ban a hose to the garage too? I must be missing something with the drain rule?

I agree with the above post...I have found that anytime I have bought something for short-term use, I end up thinking that it will be real handy in the future and then keeping it. I would suspect that that would happen with a BH as well...water lines, tiles, small tree stumps, gas lines, and the list goes on. I would buy a used one, use it for the project, and then probably keep it. That way, not as much invested on something you don't think you'll use alot...much easier to justify keeping it!!!

Something I used the other day on my dump truck because my block heater didn't have an end on it, was a magnetic electric block heater. You stick it to the base pan and it heats the oil and the oil heats the rest of the engine, it seemed to work fast. Heat rises so it mounts in the right place.

try using chains on the front tires used them on 4 different kubota's I have owned and no problems and i use my L48 for construction also not as hard to install

FWIW Was just looking at the Iron Planet Jan 27 auction listings. There is a nice low hour JD 4300 with mower, a JD 30 hydraulic hammer,a nice Valby? I think, chipper. A few good things this auction and at least real low starting prices.

I've stumbled into a deal on a Hypertherm 600 plasma cutter. A large service shop run by a friend of a friend (who shall remain nameless) has one that they've troubleshot down to the circuit board. There are some power diodes that have obviously had "the smoke let out"! My background is 25 years in electronics, so a minor circuit board problem doesn't particularly scare me. I am thinking there is a good chance that I can fix it. <br>

There are apparently third party contractors that will repair these boards (who he will put me in contact with), but I gather none of the plasma cutter manufacturers offer service manuals down to the circuit board level, probably for liability reasons. All they will do is swap the board. I can get this thing for next to nothing, cause by the time the shop hires somebody else to repair the circuit board, they can't get enough to be worth their time messing with it. I just got lucky and stumbled into a shop with a deep backlog of repair work who would rather clear it out than mess with it. <br>

Even if I had to buy a new board, I would still be money ahead, and if I hired a repair shop, I'm told that usually runs about half the cost of a new board. I might get lucky and be able to fix it myself. The torch has been tested on another unit and works perfectly everythinge else looks like new. <br>

What do you mean by phased? Either they click into place or they don't -- right? Also this blower is the one I used on a 425 for many years, that machine only had 1 driveshaft and it sounded just as noisy.

We all have our ups and downs. Today my 2002 F-250 Super duty died. The starter is bad with only 40,000 miles. $325.00 for a Ford rebuild. We have to take what comes to us, being thankful that is all.

Yep, about 10 minutes it what it takes for my FEL float detent to thaw and start working. Good indication that the machine is ready for work.

Since the frictional losses are highest at the valves, I would suppose they probably warm faster than other parts of the system.

Air is optional. If I were going to get one I would be getting a 190 because to me bigger is better. But the new 190.B i will have to see what happens with them. They are about 4 Hp less then the older 190. So right now I would say the 185.B is where I would go.
