The thing about Speedway that puzzles me is their price was 2.50 per gal plus tax which would make their price about $3.00 a gallon.
I had just came from a BP station where I had just filled my 5 gallon can for $2.05 per gallon.
Speedway was 95 cents a gallon higher than BP; just the opposite of what you're saying about BP in your area.
>------->>What really stumps me is the sign on the pump at Speedway said number 1 kerosene.
This is the Same pump that I got Diesel from back in September.

LOL YEP! You got me on that one. -17 I can live with for a few days, its the wind chill that goes along that makes it uncomfortable. No one who does anything outside likes it that cold. I should of made my self clearer. The colder the better(down to -16 degrees)

The cabs for the tractors this size for a TC40 IMO are "butt ugly" for 1. 2. IMO a skidsteer has some quality's that you can not get in any tractor. SS are made to run hard, wide open back and forth operation
(I am not preachin or techin just making a general vision for the point I am making). One of the reasons I bought the NEW tractors is wanting it to be in the kind of shape I want when I need to plant and prepair the fields. In my opinion that is really what they are made for, field work.
(or there abouts). Moving gravel, digging out stumps, log landing work, excavation type jobs, etc. I think are better suited for a skidsteer. The pivot is placed correctly on the new holands SS and the dump controls are much better along with the total ability to get real close to specific areas with extreme precision. I think you know what I mean. The heated cab/air is just a perk with the skidsteers. The loaders on the cuts are a great tool for it but the operation of a skidsteer is superior for some jobs. So, that being said, in a perfect world a "boy" would have his skidsteer and tractor to play with and use each tool for the job it was meant to do. Remember when we used to take our "tonka's" out in the dirt? You always had some kind of earth moving equipment along with the grader and the crane. That is the set up I am after. A tractor for the general farming activities along with a blower for snow. A skid steer for all light excavation and woods work. SShhhhh and a "used" 6-way bladed dozer (after the skidsteer gets paid for). Us married guys need to walk out on the water like it has only 2" of ice cover. You want to test the condition and safetey of proceeding too far before one moves on to the next spot he wants to be at? LOL. Untill the skidsteer and dozer are purchased the tractor will have to do all the other jobs as best it can. As soon as the
"preverbial ice" thickens enough I plan on walking over to the CEO of finance in my house and put in a rec. for the new equipment needed. I have alot of leverage right now. If we build this new house, she wants a few things in it for her that I could care less about IE: LARGE windows archways and granit etc. She could care less about a skidsteer. Like the other thread suggested a comprimise is the best solution. She gets what she wants and me too.

I have never owned a rubber snake.

I did, however, have a rubber chicken for several years.

I can imagine what I might do with a rubber snake, but it remains a mystery to me as to what you are supposed to do with a rubber chicken.

I guess it is just supposed to hang somewhere and be what it is....??

I have been dreaming of one of these Carraro's for a long time. With the right model you could mow where no mower has gone before and the same with twiching logs. In my area, Lucerne-in-Maine, it is real steep hilly county named after Lucerne Sweden. I'm 400 feet from the lake nad 150 feet above it. Love the bidirectional set up and all the hydraulic connections at both ends for anything. Kinda like the Unimog truck, does it all. Here is a link if anyone wants to check em out. They aren't that expensive here in the states.

I have a 85 honda 200 M 3 wheeler and used to flog it almost daily through high school. I even rode it to work on the road everyday. It sat mostly through college. I called an add for a guy looking for one and them talked him out of it when he came because I demoed it for him and then couldn't part with it. I still have it and I won't part with it. It has never been in the shop and only recently the rear brakes wore out. My dad is one who wouldn't let me park a Japanese car in his drive, but won't buy anything but a honda 4 wheeler. He has an 88 4x4 and just bought a new 4x4. Kept the old one and it has never been in the shop. He doesn't even service it. Air filter has never been open. It runs just like when he bought it. I am no fan of shifting though and would rather have some other tranny. I am not that fond of belts but they seem to work decent enough. I would like to try Honda's newer CVT since it is constantly variable and has no belts. You can even switch it to a 5 or 6? set ratio shift pattern if you like although the electronics worry me a little. My neighbor has a polaris 4x4 and says he likes it and would buy another but it seems to often have little problems. Starter, exhaust, ignition switch etc. He isn't used to something that just doesn't break very often, and the polaris hasn't had any major problems.

I'm convinced. I think I'll be patient and continue to look for the right stuff. No sense in getting something I won't be happy with, even if the price is OK, which, apparently, this is not. Lose/Lose.

I have 2 stlyes...one style is what the murf meister is describing which is a round 8" foot, the other is acually a miniature ski its about 3" wide & maybe 8" long. The shafts that they are welded to are the same size to be universal with any plow.

the relationship is that shibaura has built motors /parts for Ford/New Holland tractors for quite some time. Shibaura can be really difficult to find parts for when talking with "grey market" part suppliers. Some models do match up with other compact ford's, which is also tough to find information on....I have sold a few 2640's, and I believe that to be a good model. It is one of the more common, which means that you should be able to find parts. A great starting place is www.bestusedtractors.com. They have a grey market parts page with some suppliers on it.

You also need to remember that JD and other manufacturers are selling the same models outside of the US. Anywhere but here (and perhaps our friends to the North) horsepower means squat, it's all kilowatts. So you have even less incentive to include hp in the model number.

Even though it was raining pretty good, after I got it out, I lowered the FEL so the front wheels were off the ground and hosed off the tires and underside of the tractor. I think I got most of the mud off. Hopefully no damage.

Thanx for the info..I looked into changing the tires to the 14.9x24's(same Height,just narrower)..but...the L48 uses an 8 lug 15 inch wheel..The 14.9's use a 6 lug 13 inch wheel....If all else fails I will definately look into the aircraft cable fix...

That's doin it the wrong way. On new years day I let my neighbor help me take out stumps for about 5 hours. Today he got to help me again for an hour or two.

It would take an $18000.oo deposit to borrow mine.

No, it's a 3 point, but does not run off the PTO, has its own sealed box.
