I think it was about 5 grand give or take a few hundred. Just stick the butt of the branch in and walk away for the next, it would haul em in and spit em out as fast as you could drag em. What was real nice is the speed can be controlled and with the 8" opening and the size and taper of the chute, you didn't have to trim much, it would either fold or break the other branches as it pulled the limb in.

Murf,

I have seen those on the shelf at the JD dealer, but they're much larger than a CUT would typically use. I suspect if they are still common, they would only be used on the full size AG tractors.

I am sure there is some mechanical engineer somewhere who is very proud of some feature of that connector, but doesn't appreciate the inconvenience it causes end-users to switch to a non-standard.

Of course you recognize that your situation is atypical of the majority of folks buying fasteners for home and farm projects. I dare say the vast bulk of the low grade hardware is moved through Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, and a few others.

With your resource available, I wouldn't have asked the question in the first place. I mourn the passing of the days when products were marketed by more objective criteria. My dad (who's 87 now) tells me he remembers when car ads told things like how many square inches of braking surface per pound they had. Can't you just see the gorgeous model coming on camera in a TV car commercial to tell you the grade of steel used or something? Today its all about how a product makes you feel.

Anyone out there have any experience trying to get tire chains for the L48 rear tires. There is VERRY limited clearance(About 1 1/2 inches)between the inner fender and the inside tire sidewall. I tried a set of Pewags but to no avail...They said I can have them custom make a set but would like to see if someone has already tackled this problem..A friend of mine has a 4330 with the same tires and problem so it may not be just an L48 problem...Tires are 17.5Lx24R4 industrial lug.

Thanks for the advice. The 2200 is GREAT mowing, I've got about 3 acres I keep mowed, plus a path in the 7 acres of pasture. Only drawback is in the pasture it's a rough ride when bushhogging or anything else. The BX23 has a backhoe, which would be SO nice-so I'm trying to decide is a bigger tractor with FEL and mower better, then hopefully add BH later? Wish I could afford both. The 2200 is a very tough little tractor though.

This is what I plan to use as the source of hydro pressure. I think I want to have a few different spool valves set up on the right hand ROPS mount. You have two handles for up/down for the the Top/Tilt, Then another 2 spools for implements. I plan to add the spout rotatior and a deflector to the snow blower. have these attach with quick connects, and then be able to maybe use a hydro dump waggon.

On second thought maybe I should just list SOME of the equipment I have, I don't want to start any server space issues, or cause too much 'cylinder index' issues....

Our 72" Bush Hog brand box blade weigh about 1,000 pounds so loosing traction is not much of an issue for us.

Even when they are in use we rarely set them completely down anyway, if you leave most of the weight on the 3pth and have the cutting edge just tickle the surface they perform far better, all year-round.

Even if you bought a standard pickup-type blade and paid a welding shop to do the fabricating I doubt you would spend half of $2,200.00 on it and IMHO you would have a far superior, stronger blade.

I think the intended comparison was Grey market Japanese vs. new Chinese. From what I have read Kubota has gone to great lengths NOT to support used tractors imported from Japan, to the point of suing to block their import with the Kubota trademark (hence they are often called Zen Noah). So the comparision is new Chinese or 20 year old used. In my area clean 20 year old US market (not gray) tractors are a little hard to find. If you go Chinese, you will have to settle for a little larger, heavier tractor as they don't offer anything in the sub compact class.

Our ramblings about SONET and T1's didn't scratch the surface, this subject gets complicated quick. I will retire in a few years and don't spend the time trying to keep up with technology, like I did a few years ago. I hire young computer gurus, to deal with these issues.

There is a lot to be said for the simple things like seat time on your tractor. Dave

You would probably be in the 7-10 std cord range. You have minimal splitting. That is based on the systems here. All of the systems her run year round for domestic hot water and 90% have their own wood.

If you travel, I'd recommend using the anti-freeze mixture and have a secondary furnace, oil or propane, for back up tied in the circuit.

A heat exchanger does the swap.

A small generator is also very desirable if you live far enough out in the skicks.

Anyway, I was looking for a reference to banjo fittings. But with all the stuff this place has, they didn't have anything that helped. The SCV on my JD790 uses those at all the ports. I am not finding these connectors in any of the usual places. <br>

I noticed that they say the male thread that compresses the banjo part, is available as a BSPP or metric thread. <br>

But that begs the question, what is the thread on the JD banjo going to be? Is it going to be metric? Or does JD/Yanmar use American standards for those things? <br>

Is it possible that some other male threaded fitting, not necessarily a banjo can be screwed into the port that they've connected a banjo to? The tubing that is connected with the JD banjo appears to be 3/8" with 0.485" OD. The hex head on top of the banjo is approximately 1.07", didn't have a socket set handy to try and see what fit. The banjo ring that is clamped by the "bolt" is about 0.7" thick. I don't really want to take these things apart until I am ready to re-do it. I suspect they could be real tight, and the quarters are cramped. I need to tap into the hydraulics PB at the FEL SCV and then return to the rockshaft P port. <br>

I am just wondering if the port this banjo is screwed into is actually a 1/2" NPTF or something that I can put a standard 90 ell with a compression coupling on the other side? <br>

I don't know if anyone is interested. In my search for a tractor I came across a slightly used 2001 (I think) JD 4700 with JD loader that was a repo at Hendren Equipment in Mooresville, IN. The tractor didn't meet my needs or I would have bought it. The tractor was a Hydro unit with about 360 hours on it. The bucket didn't even have the paint worn off. They were asking $19,900 and said that they would take $19,300. I don't know if it's a good price but was definitely a nice tractor.<br>

Thanks guys for the replies!! This is great! Chipuren, I probably will use all the attachments as we have horses and about 100 acres to work, plan to do some planting etc. But I will definitely check out the new prices as the warranty is a great thing just in case.

Jamese, I wasn't sure about the re-sale value of the tractor with all the attachments included but I asked a friend who does farming, but he wasn't familiar with the Long tractors...he did say that if it was just the tractor that it might be kinda high pricewise, but considering all the attachments that it might be a good value. Is that what you meant by considering the re-sale value??

I found a Long dealer about 30 miles away and am in the process of seeing what a new one with all the attachments mentioned would cost....will let you guys know when I hear back.

Unless you have a new TC33 I don't think you can use a 14 on it. I have a 7308 and love it, it has worked great for me. I also have a Rhino hoe which is identicle to the NH hoe ( Rhino makes the NH OEM hoes )It cost two grand less than the NH hoe. I was told Rhino also makes loaders for NH you might consider a Rhino since it is cheaper and identicle to the NH loaders.

No, I did not say that at all. You operate your valve handle to extend the cylinder. "Regen" is a method of supplying more fluid to the cylinder extension side than the pump can supply by itself. Hence the cylinder moves faster. Where can the system get fluid under pressure other than from the pump? Only one place: the other side of the cylinder. The down side of all this is that the net force exerted by the cylinder is quite low.....the difference between the extend and retract forces. This method of "regen" works only in the extend mode.
