Tires are tricky critters.

The tires you have are designed to run in mud and be self cleaning. They have a rounded carcass and are designed to run "in" the soil, not on top of it. So if you put them on a hard surface or soft sand they perform very badly.

You may have to match the tire design to the type of usage you will encounter most of the time.

I have my RTV set up for soft sand and hard surface/rocky roads. The tires don't do very well in snow, but I only get snow a couple of months a years and I can chain it up if it get real bad.

I do not think using too much can hurt your engine.

I have accidentally tripled or quadrupled the dose and my little Yanmar just got smoother and easier to start.

Anyway, we didn't find the snake last night. Two grown men, me with my hatchet and my buddy with a metal ice scraper on a 5 foot pole. We tore that place apart but found no snake. I've got booby traps set up now. Catch me either a booby or a snake!!

We think we found where the snake came in at and also the mice. Seems the sump pump well was not tied to drain tile like I thought/assumed. Closer examination shows that sump well has one opening for water to enter and that just opens to underneath the concrete slab for the basement floor. Perfect way for mice and snakes to enter. In fact, there is a debris pile in the sump pump from that opening. Could be from the water or from mice and such entering. It would be really easy for them to climb out of that well. It's sealed off now so they can enter the well, but not the house.

I did tell the wife since she accused me of forgetting to put the trash out yesterday morning. I responded with "I had a good reason for forgetting!!" and proceded to tell my story.

My dodg didn't pick up any scent of an unauthorized critter so I think the snake went back under the slab after getting startled by the trap.

To the best of my recollection, the backhoe and FEL add about 1100 pounds to the base machine..... so something about 2500-2600 pounds.

I don't know what the MMM weighs, but it's gotta go at least 300 pounds.

Dittos on the tiny tach. The best $70 you will spend on your tractor.

There isn't much out there in the way of PTO spreaders that are designed to spread wet sand. I don't think anybody here is looking for that level of spreader.

More or less in this order.<br>

1. Make sure tractor is NOT in gear & block wheels if ground not level.<br>
<br>
2. Set the pulse on the magneto. (this retards the timing for the start.<br>
<br>
3. Turn on the fuel at the petcock on the fuel bowl.<br>
<br>
4. Set throttle about 1/4 to 1/3.<br>
<br>
5. Firmly grab hold of the flywheel on the side of the tractor and give it a good spin counter clockwise.<br>
<br>
The above applies to the running servicable B and takes into account my CRS. If the engine is stuck or has been setting for a long time; I would recommend that you ensure the engine is free and turn it over by hand with the flywheel many times to ensure it is free and primed good with oil first and then attempt the start. <br>

I posted this concern before, but then my laptop had to go away for a repair so I didn't get to see any discussion. So here it goes again...I put a backhoe implement on my Jinma & it seems back heavy to me when I drive around. Has anyone else used these & what precautions did you have to take when manuevering around terrain?<br>

The 8-10" of snow forecasted ended up being about 7". Not bad for forecasting Michigan weather. The oldest son stole the seat time while I was at work. I'm sure the tractor enjoyed the work just the same.
