My tractor is a 'bota L3400. I have been having a problem with my 4 way controller. It seems to be frozen in two locations. I can raise my boom, but can't lower it (Pushing up on the control). I can raise my bucket but can't lower it back down (Pushing right on the control). I can't even move the control into that location, as if there is an ubstruction. It seems to have progressively gotten worse. It would ususally thaw after 40 min of run time, but the other day, I had to run the tractor for 6 hours in order to get them to thaw. After taking a break for a half hour and let the tractor idle, I came back to find they are frozen again. <br>

I spoke with the dealer and he was telling me to drill a 1/8 inch into the back of the control. I don't feel to comfortable doing this as I couldn't quite understand where he was talking about. Has anyone had this issue, and solved it by this method? Can anyone post a picture describing where to make the hole to relieve moisture buildup?

According to my book on my BX2200 (pretty much the same machine). It says to change the front axle fluid at 300 hours and you can use either super UDT or SAE80 or SAE90. This to me is kind of strange. We all knoiw there is quite a difference in the super udt and gear oil. Can anyone shed some light on this?

My machine is at 282 hours and both front seals are leaking a little. I was going to post soon if anyone has filled the front axle with gear oil. I figured it's a lot thicker and may not leak as much.

We are all different, and have different life expectations. Many of the third world countries don't have enough work for the people. We find that for the most time we can't find the worker for the work! We are constantly looking for people to make a positive difference in our work place. I also know other companies that have a tough time finding people. Cost of business has been driven up by the cost of our government period! It takes from most everyone and is working to distribute what could be looked at as wealth and supplying jobs to people to enforce there laws. This is a negative as it takes tax dollars to pay for this. This could go on and on but basically we are into socialism with elections as there are currently so many divisions of the government that are no longer controlled but by themselves. All that I know is that prolonged strikes put buisnesses out! So when we wind up all struck out who should we congratulate? Who is the winner? Your points may be valid I have no doubt and I wouldn't want to be in your shoes at all.

Part of the difference may just be in the labelling.

I too picked up (OK, had dleivered) some "Super UDT" recvently for my 'Bota.

After I poured it in I noticed two things were different about the container than the last one I used. First it is now called "Premium UDT" not "Super", innless they sent me the wrong stuff, and secondly, it now says "Made in Canada" on the label. It seemed, as it went down the funnel, to be the same as the previous stuff I had used.

There are only a handfull of companies producing fluids in Canada so it should be relatively easy to track down who makes it. In theory it should say on the WHMIS sheet. It would be nice to find another source, Kubota Canada's price is $19.95 Cdn. a 4 litre jug (a little more than 1 US gallon).

As far as other implements that are compatable with the Bx series, KingKutter offers a full line of their "XB" sized implements that are sized for the sub-compacts. They are available form TSC. Not the highest of quality, but solid implements that do what they are suppose to, at a very reasonable price.

I haven't had an offroad bike since the mid 80's. Lately I've been interested more in the sport touring end of the motorcyle spectrum. I have had the itch to get something for off road again but it would have to be a dual purpose bike. Then again I have the itch for alot of things but only a select few end up mine. :)

I have a stack inside my attic. It was new a couple of years back. It has a ball type valve that opens when needed.<br>
Works great, no smell, no leaks.<br>
Another possibility, Are you getting snow accumulation in you stack?<br>
I have seen this many times and then increased daytime use melts it.<br>
Try going up higher for better flow, or possible T on top.<br>

How much punishment do you think that tiny little front end will take, after welding, before you have to replace the whole thing? You must have a diff in the front.

Quick hitch at TSC works well. I took mine off my Kubota 3650 before I sold it. The only problem with a category 1 quick hitch is that isn't much consistency for pin spacing like cat. 2 & 3. So I removed the top hook and used the included link. With this method, I only had one pin to connect after hooking the lower pins with the hitch. Well worth the money if you switch implements much. I know what you mean. I don't get as much tractor seat time as I used to. I build custom homes and develop land. So I've got all the toys but little time to play with them myself. Don't give up on the toys. Good luck!

From my experiences they are not as strong although I beleve it does have enough charging system to handle one. If you could watch one work and then watch an electric work you could see the difference. The hydraulic will dump at least two times in the time it takes an electric to dump once and it does it with ease with far more weight. For my commercial users of the electric dumps they typically get two maybe three years out of the electric rams where the hydralic will live far longer. So it costs 500 to build something so-so and for double that you have something that is factory original and worth that much more when selling.

Iowafun; When we built the house we now live in about 8-10 yrs. ago, I acted as my own general contractor, at that time you saved a hefty 10% on materials and cost of sub contractors by hiring and paying them yourself, BUT you learn a lot real fast. I knew the reputation of the man who dug the basement, the cement people, carpenter crew, sheet rockers, plumbers, etc.. They all did a fine job. The landscaper that I hired I really did'nt know and did'nt take the time to check him out. The man who dug the basement piled the topsoil and the clay seperately like I expected, then this disreputable landscaper made a total mess just mixing it back together, spreading a little seed, straw, sending me the bill and left the country. I finally just paid him to get rid of him, we've been working on it every since to make a decent yard. My point in all this rambling is that you were an indirect victum of a person like I dealt with. Far as how to correct it, we've just been patching in with topsoil where the worst spots were and after several summers and lots of bluegrass seed it's shaping up pretty well. Lots of luck. Frank.

After moving over 40 tandam truck &44 1 ton dump trunk loads of dirt,(filled in a sloped lot),i heard a loud bang,the u joint closest to the front end through off 2 caps,pulled off the shaft assembly and kept on working! had to use the diff lock all the time,and bucket on ocasion to get tractor un-stuck! these tractors are tuff!

Wish I could say the same about our weather! Right now, there is a layer of ice over everything here in central Kansas with more predicted tonight. By tomorrow night, toss is several inches of snow on top of it all. YUCK! I don't mind the snow, but I could sure do without the freezing rain. I guess it is January, though! Spring will be here soon.

When I had my BX I looked high and low for a replacement top link with no success.

The standard aftermarket links require serious grinding to fit between the flanges and are too long. Even the link that came on my BX was too long as was a Cat 0 link I modified.

I think you are stuck with Kubota replacement parts.
